That was just confusing. Delta's eyes fell on something that looked like it had three leaves on it. Was that it? He leaned down and nibbled on one. Well, even if it wasn't, it tasted good.

Jeralyn watched him, hoping he had found what she had told him about. She knew her description had not been the greatest, but she had hoped it was clear enough.
"I hope you found it, clovers are just delicious. Probably one of my favorite things to eat,"Jeralyn admitted.

Delta lifted his head, a clover sticking out of his mouth. He trotted over and offered it to her, glancing down shyly.
Beta was a ways away, but she could still see her youngest son and niece. She giggled and turned to her two best friends. "They're almost as cute as you two were," she teased. Haides rolled his eyes. "If you say so..."

Jeralyn looked surprised when Delta brought her a clover, having not expected it. She took it in her teeth gently and then began to chew it.
"Thank you, Delta, that was very sweet of you,"Jeralyn smiled brightly.
"Yes, except this time it is cousins, not future mates,"Jaromila spoke with a soft smile.

Delta beamed at his cousin's gratitude, red eyes sparkling like rubies. He'd made someone happy. Besides with his mother, he hadn't really done that before, at least not directly. All he could do was nod in response. How was he supposed to act? He wasn't used to being this... well, happy.
Beta nodded, smiling. "Mm-hmm! But it's still dealing with best friends." Haides smiled. "I guess that's true... Iota and Plouton are like that too." Though he didn't know where those two got their energy from...

Jeralyn saw the happiness in the face of her cousin and it made her smile. She saw the nod and had to admit, she did not mind his company.
"You know, it is nice to let my guard down with someone besides my parents, our grandma, and Grandma Michi,"Jeralyn admitted.
"Yes, Iota and Plouton are like this too, except this is more low key. They all are examples of good best friends though,"Jaromila nodded.

Delta ducked his head and shuffled shyly, but a small smile played on his face. He was happy, but he wasn't used to being treated so, well... nicely by another foal. Plouton tried but he was a little too... energetic to really succeed.
Beta nodded in agreement. "I'm happy they got to meet each other." If she hadn't made it here, and her children had grown up alone... how sad that would've been.

Jeralyn thought of something, a place she liked going to, she thought Delta may like it.
"Delta, would you like to see a place I like going to?"Jeralyn asked him gently.
"I am too, they seem to really enjoy spending time with one another,"Jaromila spoke.

Delta thought for a minute, glancing over at their parents before nodding. It wouldn't be too far away... right?
"I'm glad." Haides glanced over at her. "Worried about him?" Beta nodded. "A little... Mama, Cairbre and I are the only one's he's completely comfortable with. It's nice to see him play with someone his own age."

Jeralyn saw the nod, then motioned with her head to follow her. She started to trot in the direction of the lake where her parents met, though she did not know this.
"It is beautiful in this spot,"Jeralyn explained to him.
"We have been worried about Jeralyn too, she is too much like her father. I mean, I think she has part of me deep down, but she hides it from almost everyone,"Jaromila admitted.

Delta followed after her, red eyes taking in their surroundings with increasing awe. Being away from the others, everything seemed that much more amazing. No double images to worry about, no odd looks or naively rude remarks. When they reached the lake, he stopped. "Wow..."
"... I'm right here, you know." Beta giggled. "Mmm... but Dee turned out just fine. I'm sure Lyn will be fine." Watching the two foals leave, she mumbled, "He acts just like..."

"Yes, this place is definitely has a wow factor. The water is so clean and the birds around here sing so sweetly. It is just a wonderful place to be,"Jeralyn told him.
"Awww honey, you know I love you, but you were very hard for most people to connect with. You wouldn't even open up to your mother. He reminds me of you, Beta,"Jaromila explained, reaching over to nuzzle her mate.

Delta nodded absently as he walked towards the water's edge. Peering into the clear water, he frowned and tilted his head to the side.
Haides sighed and nuzzled her back. That was true, but still... Beta blinked and smiled sheepishly. "You think so? I think Iota's more like me... Eku's more mature than I was." Not to mention timid and shy. Beta wasn't like that at all...

"What is the matter, Delta, is the water not to your liking?"Jeralyn asked when she saw the frown. She watched to see what he might do, since she was curious now.
"At the core he is like you, Beta. Unless you can think of someone else he is more like. He may be more calm, but doesn't mean he is not like you,"Jaromila spoke.

"... Can't see mine." Delta lifted his head to look at his cousin, watching the 'bird' that was her heart fly around. "I can't see my heart." No, he wasn't all that comfortable seeing everyone else's, but his own...
"He's like Gamma," Beta replied automatically, but didn't go into detail. Then she went back to Jaromila's first comment. "So, how is he like me?" she inquired, curious to hear Jaromila's opinions on the matter.
