Varteres turned to his twin brother and wondered who could have done this to his nephew. When Rogan asked about their brother, he thought about where he might have last seen him.
"Last I saw Ermir, he was in the stables resting. I would assume that is probably where he still is."Serenity spoke quietly.
Dea looked at Aila with shock in those blue eyes of her's. Had the same man that had put her in this wheelchair have attacked one of their own? She felt tears sting her eyes, she couldn't believe this was happening.
"That is terrible, I can't believe he would attack one of our family again. He is really starting to get on my last nerve and that is not easy to do. Oh and yes, Beta can come in,"Dea replied quietly.

Aila waited until Beta had entered, leaning heavily against Danny for support as she finally started to feel the results of over stimulating her still sore and healing wounds. "Dea.. I must ask you to close the communication between you and your azrien for a moment as I tell you this. Then you can determine who else needs to know. But I believe, that with these extensive injuries... well... it is possible that Delta may not remember anything from the attack... or perhaps even before... Anyone or anything..." She looked at Beta with a bit of a grim face. "It is likely that he may not remember you... If he ever regains consciousness and his mind... He may forever be a colt in his mind, even when his body becomes a stallion..."

Danny gathered Aila into her arms, grimacing as the news went through Beta's heart like a steel-tipped arrow. To be told that, even if your child lived, he probably wouldn't remember you... that had to be one of the hardest things in the world...
Beta was stone-still for several moments. She leaned down and gently touched her nose to Delta's cheek, still silent. Her precious child. Her sweet, gifted, but unfortunate child...
Delta stirred slightly as his mother's touch, but he didn't wake up. His expression was surprisingly tranquil; it was full of pain and fatigue, but there was also obvious peace in the sleeping colt's face.

Dea was surprised when Aila told her to close off her thoughts for now from her Azrein, wondering what she needed to tell her. She did so, however, and then looked to the other. When she heard what the other said, a hand went instantly to her lips to cover a gasp. Oh no, little Delta may never be the same or remember those close to him? The thought saddened and angered her at the same time.
"Oh Beta dear, I am so sorry. Aila, my Azrein will need to know this, especially Serenity. She is going to need to be there for her daughter and grandson,"Dea spoke.

Aila nodded, sending her thoughts and prayers to Beta as she spoke to Dea. "I figured, Dea. But also, when he comes out of it, he needs to be treated the same as he was. No special treatment or anything of the sort." She instructed, her hands reaching for Danny's arms and holding them in place across her chest for comfort.

Danny wordlessly tightened her hold around Aila, gently rocking them back and forth. Things would turn out alright. They had to...
"... One at a time." Beta didn't pull her gaze from her son as she spoke, but she seemed to be talking to Dea. "When he wakes up, they can see him one at a time." She finally lifted her gaze and made a face. "They get too dramatic and I don't want them scaring Eku."
Danny couldn't help smiling at that. "Even your parents?" Beta rolled her eyes. "Especially them! Just 'cause they aren't openly dramatic like Uncle Ro, it doesn't mean they aren't. They have the same potential for smothering him."

Dea nodded, she could see how they needed to make sure that the foal was not treated any differently than he had been previously. Sometimes she wished people remembered that about her, considering sometimes they treated her differently.
"Yes, I can understand that and Serenity will know better too. I will make sure they know to treat him just like they always did,"Dea assured. At Beta's words, Dea had to bite back a smile when she heard that.
"If I know your mother as well as I think I do, she is going to snort when she hears you say she is dramatic,"Dea spoke, letting a giggle escape her lips.

It was that moment that Rogan decided to check on teh group, stickign his head through an open window. "Is everything okay?" He asked, his worried gaze focusing on Delta's sleeping form.
Aila giggled at the fact that Rogan had popped in, just as Beta had mentioned his name.
"What will Serenity snort at? And why wouldn't we treat him like we always do/" He asked, leaning far enough in to nibble on Dea's hair.

"Her worrying is very dramatic sometimes," Beta replied simply to Dea. "Whether she notices or not."
Danny grinned at the same time that Aila giggled. She could see what Beta meant when she called Rogan dramatic; even his entrance was dramatic.
Beta rolled her eyes, and didn't reply to her uncle; she'd let Dea and Aila handle the explanation. Her gaze went back to her son, who'd opened a bleary red eye to stare at her. A bit of relief washed over her as she gave him an affectionate nudge. The little colt's lips moved, but no sound came out. "Rest, Eku," she whispered softly. Whether he recognized her or not, Delta's eyelids fluttered and silently slid shut again.

Dea reached for Rogan's nose when he poked his head into the window and began to nibble on her hair.
"Rogan dear, you have such an interesting way to check on things. Serenity would snort at being told she and Ve'ki can be dramatic at times. And yes Beta, but you know she just loves all of you, so she gets carried away sometimes. Rogan, I would prefer to tell you and the others at the same time about the reason things need to stay the same for Delta,"Dea spoke.

Rogan tilted his head but nodded in acceptance. Obviously, this was not the place for his antics.. perhaps he should go find Citlali... She usually could reign him him fine, and keep him less dramatic in serious situations.. Which.. of course, was how it should be, He had to be nice and proper and Knightly for his dear princess.
Aila, thanks to Danny's grip, didn't sway as she felt the world move beneath her, but her legs did weaken and she was forced to let Danny bear her weight, as she just could not stand anymore. Her eyes fluttered tiredly, as pain finally registered in her nerve system, making stress lines on her forehead as she kept from making any sound that would alert the others of her discomfort.

Beta nodded to Dea's remark. "Can we skip the 'carried away' part this time?" She lifted her head and smiled at her mother's Chosen. "I think Eku and I have had enough drama for a while..." She'd had enough the first time Delta had gotten attacked. Her poor boy. First Demoni and now some sadistic human... he was just a magnet for tragedy.
Danny didn't need Aila to make a sound to know she was distressed; the sudden weight against her chest was evidence enough. She automatically shifted her grip to better support the farmer, glancing out the window. "It's starting to get late..." She turned to Dea calmly, assuming that Aila didn't want to add any more fuss to the situation. "We better start heading back now. Let us know if there's anything else we can do." And now that she was Bonded to Beta, news of an emergency could come immediately.

Dea scratched behind Rogan's ears, sensing his curiosity, but knew the stallion would wait for her to tell them together. Then she turned to Beta and nodded, she would certainly see what she could do to curb her bonded's over protection as best as she could.
"I make no promises, Beta, but I will try to reign in your mother and make sure she doesn't lose her head over worrying too much or fussing too much. Yes, Danny, I will certainly let you know if we need anything here,"Dea assured.

Rogan sighed and nuzzled Dea's head, realizing that Beta was going to be out of sorts for awhile... his dear poor favorite, coveted niece... Aherm.... His sweet little angel of a niece... he didn't have favorites of course..... >.>
"Shall I gather the others in the clearing for you, Lady?" He asked softly, pulling out of the window a bit.
Aila nodded. "I will send Jonda over to stay for awhile to help keep an eye on things, that way I will know immediately if something needs done." She said softly, weakly. She had quickly lost all her strength by carrying Delta from his injured place to here.

Beta nodded again, going quiet. She wished Haides or Dio was there. But of course, both were down at Michiko's. She could see the worry in the others--especially in her Uncle Rogan's face--but she just... couldn't smile this time. Other things she could brush off and smile after, but this... this was her child. She couldn't smile while he was struggling for life...
Danny let her finish her remark before expertly scooping up Aila, excusing herself, and carrying the farmer out to where Maera and Charli were waiting. "Let's get you home," Danny said softly, helping the exhausted woman onto Maera's back. Once she was sure that Aila wouldn't fall off, she slung herself onto Charli's back.
