"A sorcerer. I'm the lazy kind that doesn't have to study constantly. I've trained a s a warrior, though, and haven't put a lot of time into practicing my magic. But I do have a few spells, and they can be pretty handy." Ganner said. "How about yourself? I only see a couple of daggers on you, and you seem lightly armored. I'm guessing you're a rogue?"

"Alright. I can live with that. So, what do I call you?" Ganner asked. "You seemed like you didn't want to give me your name, and I'm not going to press you for it. But I have to call you something. So, what'll it be?"

"You can call me Halcyon." Leon finished wrapping the last of the bandages around his thigh and munched down the last bit of hard tack. He re-dressed himself, blood soaked burlap cloak and all, and leaned himself against the tree. "now if you'll excuse me Ganner, I would appreciate some of that rest you were talking about."

"Of course. Though I will also need to sleep eventually." Ganner said with another grin. "So heal fast." Ganner retrieved his pack and put his sword maintaining items back into it. He dug around inside the pack until he found a small knife and a block of wood. He had started carving the thing a while ago as a way to pass the time at exactly moments like these. Ganner walked back over to his own tree, leaving the pack next to Halcyon in case he woke at some point and felt the need to eat something again, or change his bandages. Sitting back down Ganner picked up his crossbow, loaded a bolt, and set it back down again within easy reach. Then he took his knife and drew it from its little leather sheath, the latter of which he dropped onto ground. Ganner then took the block of wood and started turning it over in his hand. He still didn't really know what he was making, and he'd never carved anything before. He wanted to start with something simple, but at the same time complicated enough that it would challenge him. Tell me, block of wood, what am I supposed to make you into? What would you like to become? Ganner idly shaved off thin bits of wood from the corners while he contemplated it. He was not worried about that as he was confidant that the bits on the corners would have to eventually come off no matter what he made it into.

Ganner let out a jaw popping yawn as he stretched. He was sitting in the same spot he had been when Halcyon had lain down to sleep the previous night. When it had been his turn to sleep he had simply let his chin fall down against his chest and taken his slumber right there. Now, though, he rose and worked his shoulders a bit. "Hey, do you have any skill at hunting?" Ganner asked his apparent new comrade. "Because I don't think I have enough rations for the both of us to make it all the way to the village." Ganner leaned down and picked up his crossbow and slung it over his shoulder by its strap. Then he went to his pack and began stuffing everything back where it belonged. When he was finished he stood and slung his pack over one shoulder also. "I might be able to take out something with the 'bow here, but I'm not much for tracking and hunting."

Leon shook his head. "sorry, no. I am pretty good at fishing though. If we could find a good place to fish at, I could catch a few for us." He smiled. FIshing was one of his favorite things to do. Might even take his mind off the constantly throbbing pain in his shoulder, leg and gut.

"Well then, I guess it's up to me to kill something unless we come across a river or lake. Then I'll be counting on you." Ganner said. He reached down and loosened his sword in its scabbard. "Might want to make sure your weapons are readily at hand also. This area's known for being near to bursting with gobbies. Little bastards have burrows dug in all over out here. And then there's some gnolls and the usual monstrous wildlife. All in all quite a lovely place for a picnic." Ganner set off for the North at an even pace. Not meandering, but not hurrying either. Plus his new comrade was still injured, and he didn't want to push him too hard. Especially since if they ran into any trouble he'd be the only backup within miles. The trees were thick, as was the brush, and Ganner found himself having to weave to and fro to get around them and find passable trails. He was almost tempted to pull his sword and just start hacking away at the damn leafy things, but his sword was a weapon meant for slaying the things that preyed on the weak. He would not use it in such a way. Odd as it seemed, even to himself, it felt as though it would dishonor the blade to wield it in so casual a manner. Instead he contented himself with their winding progress, and thanked Tymora that it was not raining.

Leon followed after Ganner at a relatively even pace. The puncture on his leg set him to limping, but he managed to keep up. He found the brush to be new, pretty. He'd gone outside of Luskan and seen brush before, but at that point his experience with brush like this had been to hide in, waiting to ambush some poor fool trying to leave the city when they had debts to pay, monetary or personal. Now he felt a strange affinity for it. He took some time to examine the pattern and shape of the leaves, the different shades of green. Compared to his life in Luskan, this was clean and fresh and new.

The two walked in mostly silence for the better part of a few hours. For his part Ganner was nearly bored out of his skull. He tired of the forest quickly and wanted nothing more than to arrive at their destination already. He was already planning to head directly to the first tavern he saw, order the largest ale they had, a meal, and a hot bed. And if was really lucky he could find a nice wench to help keep the latter warm. Just as he was thinking this Ganner suddenly picked up on a noise a little bit ahead. He stopped where he was and dropped to one knee in an instant. He held up one hand and gestured for Halcyon to do the the same. Peering through the leaves ahead Ganner caught a small bit of movement. He strained his ears and was able to pick up the sound of a screeching voice speaking in the primitive language of goblins. Ganner turned back to Halcyon and pitched his voice at him in a whisper. "Goblins ahead." Ganner grinned. "Finally, something to do. Maybe they'll even have some half decent loot." Ganner's paused for a moment in thought. "Do you think you're up for some gobbies? Or would you rather skirt around them?"

Leon shook his head slightly and whispered "sorry, it pains me to say it, but I'm really in no condition for this. Lets just sneak around them. Follow my lead." He loosened the clasps on his sheathes in case they were spotted and began moving about the area in the skilled manner of one who is all too used to not being seen. He ducked behind trees and faded into the brush, pausing as he went to track the absent gazes of the goblin lookouts. He made gestures to Ganner informing him when to stop and hide, and when and where to move. Every step he made was careful and soundless, avoiding twigs and dried leaves as he ghosted through the forest.

Ganner tried not to show his disappointment at that and was soon put to shame by Halcyon's abilities to move silently. The elvish man took the lead and began giving signals for Ganner to move or stay, and where he should move to. Ganner did his best to follow the directions, and move as quietly as he could at the same time. His armor made some minor rattling as he moved, but the plates of his lorica were light, and he moved carefully. He simply hoped that the noise that he did make was covered by the sounds of the forest. And if not, well then he'd just have to hope that this particular group of goblins did not number too high.

Leon Watched as one of the goblin lookouts sniffed the air in his Direction. "I smell.... something..." Leon mouthed an inaudible curse The looked continued trying to catch the scent "I smell.... blood." "Yes, I smell it too." Said the other lookout. "Elven blood." They began walking toward where Leon was hiding behind a large oak tree. Leon Motioned for Ganner to remain still and to lay low.
