Armagnac blinked at him. "Yes I do want to stab you." She thought that was obvious. She sighed. "But I am talking about inside. In the squishy heart bit. The part that's not physical, that I can't tear apart with my claws. Sherry calls it her heart, but it's more than that."
She leaned back and crossed her arms, almost mimicking him. "Really? You a murderer? I would not be surprised. Nor am I impressed." She paused there, and stared at him for a long moment.
"You," she started slowly, "wouldn't do the same to Sherry. I know this because," her head tilted to one side slightly, "you know what she's worth. You have said as much, anyway."
The grin was back. The one full of contempt and hate. "If you did kill her, I hope you know I would kill you. Slowly and painfully. I would find a way to do it."
Armagnac was stepping closer again, and one hand reached out to pat him on the head again. "We don't have to worry about that, do we?"

Armagnac's answer only earned a snort, which turned to outright laughter. "You seem to have me mistaken. You forget I'm not Sherry. There's no 'squishy heart bit' for you to destroy. Besides requiring a physical heart, you can probably say, figuratively, that I 'have no heart', as you've already seen." This was starting to turn into a staring contest. "Yes, your're right. It won't happen because I'm already attempting to remedy the situation. As long as she learns to listen, nothing will happen to her." The grin only earned a smirk, "If she died, you'd go into permanent hibernation. If not permanent, then a damn good while. You won't be killing anyone anytime soon, and as you are now, you can't touch me." Ok, maybe touch was the wrong word as he grimaced from the contact, but she wouldn't be able to kill him anyways. He swatted her hand away and took a step back. "You've said all you needed, and so have I. Are you quite done yet? I have some more important things to do then to entertain a golem."

She sighed. "Oh, you silly little worm. I know you are heartless. If Sherry knew how to listen properly she would know that, too. I think she is realizing it, though not quick enough. Her little heart is too happy and full of hope still. The most disgusting part is it's hope for you and your happiness. She's staying away to make you happy." She sounded thoroughly annoyed by that fact.
"I admit," she sounded like she really didn't want to admit it, "That if Sherry died I would sleep. It would not be forever, you can rest assured. I would hunt you down, if you still lived."
She looked thoroughly annoyed. "No, I can't hurt you now. Between this useless pile of stuff and Sherry's wishes...You are lucky, little human. I know how you made her feel, and I know she didn't deserve it. The fact that you don't seem to care irritates me beyond measure."
She leaned in again, pointedly ignoring his hint that she should leave. "I don't understand her, you know. Not in this." Her tone was thoughtful, almost like she were thinking aloud. "Such a heartless little worm. You and I agree. Why doesn't she?"

Jake only sighed, dragging a palm down his face. "I'm dealing with an idiot and a moron. This conversation is going nowhere." He eyed the golem, and gave a huff. "Good luck with that. If Sherry dies, I'll make sure you break permanently." Was that way of saying he cared for the life trainee? It was hard to tell, though Armagnac's acknowledgment made a cruel grin curl up on his face. If trying to reason with her wasn't working, he would provoke her. He acknowledged how similar in personality the two of them were, so if this didn't make her think twice about telling Sherry to smarten up, he didn't know what would. "You're right, You can't hurt me. You know how I hurt your hunter, and you can't do anything about it. I can continue hurting her, continue breaking her, and all you can do is watch your partner be reduced to a piece of useless trash, unless you can convince her to smarten up and stop hanging on to something so vain."
The bait was set, but the question was... would she take it?

Armagnac had to agree that the conversation was going nowhere. Talking to Jake was worse than talking to a wall. At least walls didn't give you silly answers back. Her eyes narrowed at his comment about breaking her. She almost had a retort to that worked out when he opened his mouth again.
He was right. Again. The rage that built up inside the lindwyrm was hot and threatened to make her do something stupid. Very stupid. As it was, she lunged forward and grabbed a fistful of shirt again, holding him close so she could stare down at him. It took every ounce of self control (it probably helped that Sherry had more or less ordered her not to hurt him) to stop there.
She growled at him, the noise coming from somewhere deep in her chest. She hated the fact that he was right, and she hated the fact that she couldn't tear him apart. Apart from the growling, she was quiet for several long moments. When she did speak, her free rose again, combing his hair with her claws. "I will find a way to kill you, little human. If I have to."

The death trainee was playing a dangerous game. As Armagnac pulled him close, he flashed his teeth at her. "Well, you better think of it fast, because my patience is wearing thin. Considering you're Sherry's golem, if you end up breaking, the loss would be hers, would it not? In addition to having to pay your repair fee, she'll be left defenseless for a while, no mental support while I have free reign to destroy what's left of her. By the time you're fixed, you'll have nothing but an empty shell beyond repair." As if to make his threat more realistic, his hand reached into his sash, pulling out the dagger. He may not have Chester on him, but his artifact would be more than enough. It was really tempting. If anyone asked, all he would say was that it was in self-defense. Sherry wouldn't think of blaming him, and with Armagnac out of the way, she would have no mental crutch to rely on.
Though before he could raise it, the door flew open. "DON'T KILL EACH OTHER!" Chester was out of breath, and blinked when he saw Jake held up by a lizard-looking... "Armagnac?" It was then he saw the dagger "Jake, DAMMIT, NO."
Before the two could react, the nergal threw himself on the pair, sending the three of them to the ground.

Armagnac's growl only deepened. He was right and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it. (Walking away never even crossed her mind.) She wanted to tear him apart, she wanted to peel the flesh from his bones, but she couldn't. Promises. Damn promises.
She saw him move. She saw the dagger. Armagnac knew he had it, she'd been there when he received it. She grinned. Surely she could pull out some of his insides before the golem melted. Her eyes flashed with glee and hate, and she opened her mouth to dare him.
They were rudely interrupted before that could happen.
A new voice yelled, and Armagnac turned just enough see another small human. No, not human. She registered a tail and neon green, and had just enough time to wonder why it knew her name before it was hurling itself at them.
She would have liked to hit the ground with more grace, but that was difficult when you were trying no to lose your grip on an annoying person's shirt and had something else barreling into you. She must have let go of Jake at some point, though. Cause a moment later she had both hands on their new friend's shirt. "Excuse me," She pulled him in close, which didn't require much effort seeing as they were in a nice little pile on the ground. "What do you think you are doing?"

The voice made Jake turn his head towards the door, and before he could tell Chester that he wasn't actually going to do anything, the nergal tackled them both, and he tumbled backwards, hitting his head on the wall. "Ow, Chester, what the hell..." He looked down to see that he was no longer holding the dagger. ... where did it go?
Chester blinked, staring at the other golem. "I, uh... hi Armagnac! I was visiting Sherry just now. Did you know she's actually quite worried about you? It's already been an hour 15, probably more. You should probably get back now." He felt something in his hands, and looked down to find that he was holding Jake's dagger.

Armagnac growled. She wasn't full of blinding rage anymore, which she would have agreed was good under most circumstances. This was not one of them.
"Chessster?" She let the s drag, hissing his name. That was the name of Jake's weapon, wasn't it? Chester, who had just been visiting with Sherry? Her hunter? "What cause do you have to visit with my hunter?" Her fists clenched tighter and she pulled the other golem even closer. "Did you go down there to make her cry more?"
The rage that still bubbled inside her made her quite oblivious to most of their current situation. She noticed the dagger about as much as the fact that she was angrily accusing Chester of doing what she had basically come here to do.

Was it possible for golems to blush? Because Chester felt his face heat up when Armagnac pulled him closer. "I... I... just wanted to talk to her, really! I didn't make her cry! Or... maybe I did... a little... But it wasn't on purpose! I went to her to talk about..."
He trailed off, feeling another pair of eyes on him. ... Oops, now he'd gone and offended both of them.
"Um... um... hi Armagnac! It's really nice to meet you at last. Thanks for taking care of Sherry. You, uh, look lovely today..." There was a distinct snort behind him.

Were they still lying on the floor? Yes. Were they really close to each other? Yes. Did Armagnac pull the other golem even closer? Yes. "You did WHAT?"
She couldn't see much beyond Chester's eyes, they were so close. She growled in response to most of what he said. He sounded far to pleasant and-- "I what?" Flattery? Really? Who did he think he was talking to?
"I'll repeat again," she felt the need to draw things back to the more important question, "You did what to my hunter? You pair of heartless wretches. I should gut you both."

Chester just wanted to run and hide. Maybe he could run back to Sherry. At least she was nice. But no, he had put up with Jake for more than half a year, and even grumpy people had their soft side.
"No, really! I went to talk to her! She's fine! Go see!" But then Chester realized just how close he was to Armagnac. "A-Armagnac, I like you and all, but I... don't... think we should kiss until a date or two, notthatI'msayingI'magainstanythingspontaneous, but... this is kind of sudden, and-" He fingered the blade in his hand nervously, and accidentally touched the blade part, sending a jolt up his arm that made him lurch forward in shock, and the nergal ended up... toppling over on top of Armagnac, planting a kiss on her lips. Why did this seem so... OH s**t.
Realization hit him, and he bolted upright, face beet red. "I'MSORRY I'MSORRYI'MSORRY-"
Meanwhile, the snort turned into a snicker, but after that performance, Jake had doubled over, laughing his a** off.

Fine? He just went to make her cry and Sherry was fine? Was he serious? The next words out of his mouth were leading Armagnac to believe he was absolutely crazy. She was just about to open her own mouth to start a rant about how 'a crying Sherry is not fine' and 'there would be no kissing where did he get that idea?' when suddenly there was kissing.
Armagnac froze as Chester's lips touched hers. Shock? Surprise? Fear? Who knew? It didn't matter. A moment later the golem tensed, nearly coiled and as Chester backed off Armagnac inhaled (more an old forgotten habit than anything). She also placed her foot in his midsection and straightened her leg holding him as far away from her as she could.
"Damn straight you are sorry. What in the name of Jack was that? How dare you?"

"It was an accident, I'm sorry!" Chester kind of wanted to cry too now. How humiliating. He looked down to see her foot planted on his stomach. "You have... um... nice... feet..." The nergal was only digging himself a deeper hole, and Jake was still howling with laughter.

"An accident," she hoped her voice sounded like it was dripping acid. She really wished she could use her fear and tear them both apart. "You expect me to believe that?" Though why he would do it on purpose she had no idea.
"I what?" Her eyes followed his to her foot. What was wrong with this weapon? Did he really think flattery would win her over? It would, normally. She growled as she gathered her arms underneath her, and giving Chester scowl she moved her foot and went to stand.
"What do you find so funny?" The irritating little worm seemed to think this was the best thing he'd ever seen.
Armagnac's pride would never recover.
