Melvin only glanced to the side and made a sort of groaning noise that confirmed that yes, the bug thing, and that he wasn't excited at the idea that he even had that thought or faint desire to even go up against such a nightmare.

He tensed just slightly under her hold, and only breathed out at the thought of what he admitted and might or might not take on. "I'd rather no one faces that. It would be nice if I could just poison her breakfast or set a explosive in whatever dark hole she sleeps in." That way no one had to go near her.

"Not die." Melvin said. Happier things wasn't something Melvin usually discussed. Optimism was rarely ever in stock in the blonde. However, considering Rin was holding him and wanting a lighter mood that didn't involve him thinking about the bug lady and the horrible image that was ever seeing her again, he decided to entertain it.
"Get my own group of trainees to order around. Make someone else my coffee b***h. Work on advancing some of our runic healing items similar to the bandages....maybe figure out a horrible acid or poison later down the road to let loose on the Halloween populace." He smiled at the thought. "Little things."

Rin laughed, yeah, real little. "I hope to get a room with a private shower. Perhaps expand on the greenhouse. Collect amazing samples to create amazing substances."

Melvin visibly perked at that idea. "Hunters do get their own showers, don't they?" Welp, there went a few drops of optimism in his empty canteen.

Melvin just looked confused. "Who the hell is Clarice? Is Hannibal walking around here too?" He honestly knew so few of their superiors it was starting to feel as if they were all hiding from him.
Then he thought of another thing and turned to look at Rin. "Wait? You were in a hot tub with some woman?" This sounded like a very interesting story.

"You... are a lifer and you do not know Clarice? She is the doctors assistant?... Carries a massive claymore? Gorgeous blonde?" Rin went from looking baffled to downright amused at his change in line of questioning, "Actually, several women." She winked again, "And I was naked at the time." And drunk, very drunk.

Melvin tried to think of a gorgeous blonde, but his idea of gorgeous was probably a bit skewed to other people. Did Clarice trim her nails properly? Had she ever walked around with a piece of food in her teeth? That would downgrade her rather quickly in his rather strict book. "Probably never spoke with her before. I don't get to meet many assistance. I only spoke with H a few times and Dwight during my promotion." He'd only seen all the assistants during the mysterious bomber trial and even the didn't feel like he knew them.
At the admission of many women, Melvin turned to really stand before Rin. "Which women? How many exactly? How many at each time? Actually, big question is why I haven't heard this story sooner?" Women in boiling hot water just tended to be a great image overall.
