"That's a complicated question." Yes, he wanted her to touch him. No, he hadn't taken a shower yet. No, because they hadn't even decided what was going on. Yes, because if they settled on the idea, he could just go for broke. Yes, to prevent any awkward ideas. No, in case he reacted and things did get awkward in that she noticed he really didn't want her to touch him.
"If we mess around, I need to know you won't ever talk about me if things get messy and it doesn't work." If, though he felt it was a certainty. Right now, he was screwed either way. If Rin didn't hear a yes, she wouldn't talk to him. A yes was just a temporary way to prolong what would happen eventually.
"Whatever I say or do, it wouldn't be passed around, even if we aren't seeing each other anymore. Can you promise me that?"

"Of course I promise, I mean. I dunno why you would think I'd just... I'm not a d**k, Melvin." Rin looked at him with her head tilted to the side, raising the hand up again and watching his face. She wasn't sure what he wanted right now. At all. She'd ask yes or no questions and would receive the most cryptic of replies...

He watched the hand and then looked up at her before shaking his head. "I haven't taken a shower. That's...part of it. It's going to be a lot of it if we're going to be together for longer than just a night. If you want to try it, then we can. After, you can tell me if you even want to bother with the headache." He'd already strangled a few relationships dry with his demands. He wasn't sure he wanted to see how hurtful Rin could be when the end came and what she would eventually say.
But what did he have to loose now when his life was so short?

Rin raised a brow, curious, but the look on her face relaxed as quickly as it became quizzical and she nodded, "Lead the way." She hoped she wouldn't regret those words. Melvin made it sound so... well.. her mind was turning it into far worse than Melvin likely intended. She quietly wondered if he was going to scrub up then surgically remove her liver and eat it.

He rose up, turning to look down at her. "Stay here. I'm going to take a shower and change." And brush his teeth, floss, and use mouth wash. He was working on a timer after all considering Rin just took a shower and wouldn't be as available as she was right now. Actually, considering that he wasn't sure how often Rin changed her linens, he debated actually being here. It would also give them both time to digest what was going to happen. She said she wanted him, but he wondered if she would pass the test or quit after.
"Actually, if you want, can you come to my room? I just changed the sheets." He wasn't about to buffer the full extreme of what he was talking about if she was going to judge if the headache of what wasn't going to be a easy night was worth it in the long run. If she said yes, then she set herself up for any disappointment. If she said no, then maybe it would be enough to chill any desire she had in him and they could resume being friends. He wasn't sure which one he was hoping for though....they both came with their own wounds.

Rin glanced down at her sheets. She was honestly not fond of messing them up as she had just made her bed before he showed up. "Actually, that's a good idea." She moved to stand up, "Should I bring anything with me or change my clothes?" Well, into clothes.

"A change of clothes. I ...don't know how long you'd want to stay." Or if she's retire to her room shortly after. Melvin knew he tended to want to clean up after and then sleep. He hadn't eaten dinner yet either, but after everything, he didn't feel too hungry.
"I'll leave the door unlocked for you. Just enter whenever you're ready." He said, starting to feel his head swim a bit out of everything that was moving. "I'll..see you there." To which he moved to the door.
"Up to you if you want to show up." He said, more to the door than her, and then left.

Rin offered him a lopsided smile as she shooed him off. Better not change your mind Melvin, expecting her to was not about to happen. She closed the door behind him and turned to set to work grabbing a few things and changing into a few others but still shuffling into the hallway in her bathrobe and b-lining it to his room. Where she waited.

Melvin was already gone. He grabbed his things and left, wanting to just wash up well but not spending too much time. While the state of things had flown so out of control and he wasn't sure what would happen or if he'd regret it more or less for taking such actions, his brain was still focusing on the fact that there was going to be a woman in his near future. Being on the island for months, he couldn't say there wasn't at least one good part in all of this. For once, the explosions and damage could come later.
He returned 20 minutes later in a white robe, things under one arm, and shut the door to see her there. Then, breathing out at the sight of her, he locked the door behind him with a audible 'click.'

Night faded to dawn and eventually Rin stirred again. Dazed and uncertain for sure what had happened the night before... it suddenly came to her as she gave the man at her side an accidental nudge. Then a more purposeful nudge before she rolled over to prop her elbow on him and rest her chin in her hand. The look on her face was decidedly smug in nature.

Melvin was sleeping. Well, Melvin WAS sleeping, but a sharp elbow had jabbed at him and then he felt a weight on his chest that had him reaching out and petting Rin as an automatic reflex from being at his parents house when Pepper, their cat, would wake him.
The texture of curly hair was enough to make him open his eyes and look down at a very smug Rin.
Oh......right. He removed his hand from, well, petting Rin like some animal, and adjusted on the bed in hopes of going back to bed.
"What are you smiling about?" He mumbled as he tried to s**t and get comfortable again - which was impossible with a woman on top of you.

Rin looked smug despite being stroked like a cat which she clearly wasn't. When he shifted, he'd knocked her off her pedestal of an arm which caused her chin to dig in him instead, "Hmph. Lazy." She grumped at him but didn't really push.

"Exhausted." He corrected. He'd been working all yesterday, then had the emotional drain of talking to both Rep and Rin.
He opened his eyes again to look at her, then closed his eyes. Was that all she had to say?

Rin heaved a heavy sigh as she smooshed a cheek against him. "Fine fine, exhausted." She gave him a fond look once his eyes were off her again. "I feel great myself. I think I could slay all the horsemen single handedly now." She smirked, as if there was any other sort of handedly.

Of course she would feel great. She got what she had wanted, while Melvin felt he had put the most at risk. The worse would have been that, if he never talked to her, Rin would have never talked to him and word would get around he was a horrible a*****e. He'd be stranded on a island that relied on teamwork with no one to call upon. Now, there was no turning back from this point. You couldn't undo a night with someone, and while it had been nice, the grave complications of such an action were knotting up his insides.
"Good. You do that and I'll sleep." He said with a small smile, but the weight of everything was still there and wouldn't let him relax like he wanted.
