Cyrus nodded at her plea and leaned over to kiss her softly.
"I will hurry," he said and rose to his feet to leave them.
Maia waited until Cyrus was gone before she looked up at Elora and examined her face a moment.
"How are you feeling now Elora? Are you still in pain like before?" she asked as she pulled out the needle and quickly blocked the small hole with her thumb. "Or do you feel different?"

Elora shook her head.
"No, I feel better, much better. I can't feel every little thing now. I can breathe properly and talk properly too."

"Yes, your voice sounds much better," Maia smiled warmly and picked up her needle and thread to close up the small pin p***k. "You have a beautiful voice," she smiled as she worked. "I am so glad this is working for you. I was really afraid that it might not." She fell silent a moment and finished off her work.
"How did you and Cyrus meet? You seem like such an oddly matched pair," she smiled to show she meant no disrespect.

Elora smiled, it felt good to be complimented on her voice again. She was famous for he singing back in the golden years.
"Thank you, and yes, I suppose we are a little odd. We worked for the same employer way back when. over the years we have grown to know and respect each other. He is the first male to truely see me for who I am, to love and respect me as a being and an individual."

Maia thought about that for a moment and looked to the wound that had been forgotten in the excitement of Cyrus's arrival. Moving to the large wound, she smiled as she watched the gears all working together. It wouldn't take much more oil to get this leg working properly, she mused.
"He is a good man. Scary, but you can see how much he loves you," she smiled and began to pick out the old, coarser threads that had joined the wound together. "What is the first thing you are going to do once I am done here?" she asked, glancing up at her with a smile as she readied her needle and thread. She would make sure that this wound would almost be invisible this time around.

"now that is a question." There were many things that she could think that she wanted to do. "I would like to sort this place out a bit, make it presentable and I would like to go upstairs, I am sick of wearing this dressinggown. I want my clothes and jewelry and they are all upstairs. Cyrus is too heavy but I bet I could reach them."

"Oh... Why didn't you say so?" Maia asked, looking up at her with a small laugh. "I could have tried to go up there if I had known how desperate you were for a change," she smiled and turned her attention to finishing with her stitching. "As a matter of fact, I could go up now and get them for you while we're waiting. Would you like for me to do that?"

"No, I don't know how safe it is. If you go up there and get hurt I won't be able to help you."

Maia laughed a little and finished her stitches.
"And you think Cyrus will let you go up there since he can't go?" she smirked a bit and turned her head when she heard heavy footsteps.
"I found more oil. I hope it will be enough," Cyrus announced as he appeared in the parlor. He set down the large jug on the floor and looked to Elora. She looked better, he decided. She looked much healthier and he was excited to think that she would be back to her old self as he remembered her.
"Perfect. Thank you Cyrus," Maia smiled warmly and stood to get the last transfusion ready.

Elora felt tired when they had finished, it had taken a lot of moving and pain to get the oil inside of her, now that she had it though she certainly felt better. Much better.
"Let's see." She smiled, easing herself up outof the chair, there was no creaking or grinding of gears. It would take a few days for her to move fluidly though she was on her way. "hah, look, it worked." She grinned, walking carefully around the room.

Maia grinned and clapped her hands together in her excitement.
"Brilliant! I'm so happy that it worked Elora!" she exclaimed.
Cyrus watched her carefully as she stood and began to walk around. When she stayed on her feet, a small smile began to steal across his lips. Rising to his own feet, he walked up to her and cupped her face between his hands.
"You are just as I remember you," he smiled warmly and leaned down to kiss her softly.

Elora kissed Cyrus back and smirked.
"Well almost, I would not have been caught dead wandering around like this in my past life." She raised an eyebrow and smiled. "Now, what do you say to our guest?"

Cyrus gave a light snort of laughter.
"Well, desperate times and all," he smirked and glanced over to the girl. Breathing in deeply, he let it out slowly and turned to face her, though his arm slipped securely around Elora's shoulders. "Thank you Maia. I am sorry I was so rude."
Maia smiled broadly as he apologized to her and she nodded her head to him.
"You are very welcome Cyrus. I think I will go and do some exploring for a while. I won't wander too far," she smiled and stood, wiping her greasy hands on her trousers.

Cyrus smirked and looked down into her eyes.
"I suppose not. Though I'm really not all that sorry," he smirked and shrugged as he slipped his fingers up into her hair. "I am grateful that her idea worked though. I really had no idea how I was going to help you. I hated seeing you in so much pain."
