Gods she couldn't believe she was going to try. There was no way it would work, a solution this simple never worked. Alexiel made her way across the arena and over to the Emperor, up to his chair. She stood a few feet in front of him. If she was lucky, maybe guards wouldn't skewer her with spears or something.
Alexiel looked at the Emperor a deadly serious look directly in the eye as she moved closer... and closer... and then... she started to tickle him.

He squirmed and fidgeted, moving away from Alex as much as he can. "Deplorable woman!" He began batting at her hands. "leave me be foul being...."He fell out of his chair...a few skittering laughs could be heard from the audience but not from he.
"I said make me laugh!"

"Right! Yes your majesty! I'm sorry... please don't have your guards turn me into a pin cusion!" Alexiel quickly backed away from the throne towards the edge of the arena. Balanced precariously on the edge, she swayed back and forth... back and forth... and back... and back... and down, landing on her a** in the dirt.

THe emperor watched her closely as she moved away, evidently afraid she would move closer again. But then he saw her sway and tumble backwards and a strange sound was heard....a snicker...and then a brawing, like that of a donkey.
"HEE HAW...HEE HAW!!!" the sound getting louder and louder even while the man covered his mouth to keep the sound in, turning beet red in embarrasment...
"HEE HAW!!"
His crown fell of his head and down flopped two donkey's ears that waggled as he continued to laugh.
"HEE HAW!!" He continued laughing even while the audience looked on in shock, pointing at the donkey man.
"Fake!"
"Fraud!"
"Demon!"
Two guards came and began to drag the donkey away even as he continued braying loudly, trying to kick and scream but unable to stop the horrible sound coming from his throat. As he flailed about, something was pushed towards Alexiel outstretched hand.
Ring a ling
It was a small handbell like the beggers from the Salvation Army rang at Christmas. Enough to give a 'ringer' of a headache if you listened to it long enough.

Alexiel blinked and looked down at the bell as the chaos with the apparently fake emperor took place. Chaos was never good and Alex felt the need to get away from the screaming crowd. She scrambled to her feet and holding on to the bell tightly, she followed the guards and the laughing donkey man.

And as quickly as it appeared. It disappeared. The arena was gone. The crowds were gone. Even the clothing was gone. Everything was as it was. Except Alexiel was on her horse and wearing her own clothing, as was Irzeal. Everything was back to normal. Even the scent of poppy had faded. It was just a lonely beach once more.

Alexiel was back on her horse, everything was is it had been, except Alexiel had a bell now. The mist was gone as was Sejai's smell. "I do believe it's time to move on..." Even as she spoke, Daemon winged down to her and landed in her lap. There was a rush of relief to see her avian friend, but it didn't last long.
If this bell, this reward, was one of the petals, Alex needed to move fast. The man from before had said the petals could lead to Sejai appearing, which meant she needed to protect this thing. If anyone wanted it, they would have to pry it from her cold, dead hands.
"Hold on Dae..." The Bell in one hand and the reins in the other, she kicked at the horses flanks and the beast lunged forward at a full gallop. Her search for Sejai would continue elsewhere. She made her way down the beach, not entirely sure where she was going.

"Alright, Kit...I'm looking but I don't see anything."
Athan strode along the beach, his gaze drifting from one horizon to the next. There was definetly something strange about the place, but that could have just been caused by the fall from the boat.

The Jeep rolled across the dunes away from the crashed ferry. "Keep an eye out for anything strange guys. I was something odd earlier, but its not here now." As if they needed to be told. Jacknife held the wheel with one hand and fiddled with the radio with his other. "Any preference on music?"

Kit put his eyes and squinted them, looking around. "Somebody on a horse, but whoever it is, too far to catch up." There was nothing else but the sound of the crashing waves, the ocean and the sand at their feet. In his experience Following people usually got him somewhere, like that laughing spirit, who got him into this fun in the first place. "Wanna see if we can?"

"You want to chase down a girl on a horse?"
Athan looked at Kit as if he was crazy. But, when he thought about it, the entire situation they were in was just plain crazy.
"Alright, fine. Let's go."
Athan took off at a run. Even as a jeep whizzed past.

"'Cording to what the fellow with the French accent said..." Nascen said, switching unconciously from his English accent to French even as he spoke it, "...after a certain amount of time or something, this 'game' ends, and then it all comes down to the seven people with petals and one 'willing blood sacrifice'. According to what I've heard, it depends on their intentions- if they're will is good we get the angels and they're around, but they don't try and kill everything- we have mostly ill will and we get the demons who do try and kill everything." he recounted, scooting into the back seat now that Alan was driving again, squeezing in between two people in the increasingly crowded vehicle, giving bright grins to the people on each side of him.
"So, personally, I'd have to say the angels sound a better bunch than me. Apparently, it 'has' to be one or the other. No way to just call the whole deal off."

Kit started running as well, it was kinda hard in the sand, but he managed. He breathed rapidly and said at a steady pace. "Hey... Have.... you ever thought... that... maybe that raccoon... was wrong?" The jeep drove by him as well, it seemed tempting, but maybe not yet.

"I see..." Flare said, wondering why Rafe had not chosen to share this information with her. He would be getting a beating the next time she saw him, if he weren't being dragged away to eternal damnation.
"There is a way to stop the game, but not for you or I. Only one who doesn't know of it can stop it...
"And no, I don't know how that's supposed to work."
She glanced around the beach, looking for something...chaotic. There was a woman tanning topless, but that was about as chaotic as things seemed to be at the moment.
