Yumitoko II "Well lets hope for the mare's sake they do! Sisters can still be somewhat protective. I think you'll be okay. Sisters tease because they care." She only knew what a sister to sister relationship was like and assumed it may be different for bother and sister, maybe one day she'd find out. "All I say is take your time. This person will be very special and you might not even realise it at first. I just think your family don't want you to turn your attention to tinkering so much that a mare with great potential could slip away", she was uncertain if there was only one person people were meant to be with or if there were always other chances, she had not encountered the problem for herself.

Quote: "Sisters.. I wouldn't put it past them.. Especially Haven.. Meyra, not so much.. even if she does have a spear she can jab them with.. but haven.. she's crafty.. our lady knight as she dubbed herself as a filly." He chuckled lightly. "I'm sure you're right.. And.. I think that's more or less why my mother threatened to take away my supplies.. I think in her own way she worries I'll miss out on the many wonders life has to offer while I'm creating my own wonders." He nodded as he spoke. She was very right.. Such a mare when he found her would be very precious and special to him.. and tinkering could if he lost as many hours of the day as he was known to do so could just slip by him without him ever knowing what potential there could have been. "I never asked.. did you want to see some of the things I've made some day?" He looked over his shoulder. "It's a bit of a walk.. likely better for another time when we haven't passed half the night talking.. but if you should like.. I'd be willing to take you to show you some of the things I've created."

Yumitoko II "She sounds rather adventurous", she giggled. "Tough love. She's trying to make you see the bigger picture", Zaniah knew of her father's own tough love, as she was growing up he was very protective. He loved her very much and in a way was finding it hard to cope with her and her sisters growing up so fast, even to this day he is protective, that may be why she didn't have many male friends. Zaniah snapped out of her head for a second and her ears perked at his question,"I would like that", she nodded and saw that this may be a special thing as tinkering meant so much to him. "It's alright, Cad", she beamed,"I'd be very interested in seeing what you've been working on." Making new friends was always a good achievement, keeping them was another thing.

Quote: "Haven? She's quite adventurous indeed.. she and that lizard she use to chase as a foal.. darn thing sits in her mane like some sort of adornment most the time.. she and Meyra's wish to see what flight would be like is a big reason as to why I got so far into tinkering as I did.." He smiled remembering the looks on their faces when they'd teasingly said that maybe he should make them some wings since he was always trying to fix things and he actually took on the task. "I managed to finish making a set of hill gliders for my sisters.. but.. they were already too big to use them really Now.. I want to make them more for the use of the flightless adults.. I want to let them step into a harness and have wings and feel the wind on their faces when they jump from some place very high.. So.. I've started on a new model... All be it.. it's tricky... but.. all work comes from determination and I'm determined to make something that'll let wingless soquili get a better understanding of what you flighted ones feel while in the air.. that is until they eventually glide to the ground below.. it's not the same.. but.. it'll provide for a better understanding.. I think."

Yumitoko II Zaniah smiled," flight is the wind in your face and the feeling of nothing underneath your hooves.. sometimes the resistance can be quite strong." She giggled," I'd very much love to fly with the flightless, it'd be sorta fun. In all honestly there is no difference between us but a pair of wings and to where we can roam vertically. Gliding is a fun way to get down big hills." Flight didn't come to her all that naturally, it was tough for her trying to co-ordinate 4 wings instead of two, maybe one day she could learn with just two.

Quote: He nodded as she spoke. "But I must say.. even when I do finish this project.. it'll likely be dangerous for the first prototype.. After all.. I'll be the one trying it out to make sure it's sturdy.. Off some hills fist likely to make sure it'll hold my weight.. I'm not small for a stallion.. but then.. I'm no draft either.. so.. height alone won't be my only factor.." He could see it now.. the skies above filled with flightless soquili enjoying the skies on his contraptions... It was a dream he'd had ever since he was a foal and heard his sisters first wish to fly. "I'm glad you said you'd come and see my work.. So many seem to more or less think they're humoring a mad hermit when they say they'd be interested.. but you.. you genuinely mean it.. right?"

Yumitoko II Zaniah hesitated,"are you sure? I mean, if it's dangerous that's not great without protective measures." Zaniah was genuinely concerned, she would certainly be keeping an eye out for him if he did want to try. She nodded,"I would very much love to, it sounds fantastic", she smiled and nodded," I do." She didn't believe hermit was the right term for him because it was somewhat derogatory and she did not see him as a bad person.

Quote: He nodded set in the idea. "It would be careless of me to have some one else try in my place.. And damned if I'll let some innocent injure them self while testing out my equipment. It's got to be me.." He was dead set in this plan. If all worked then he wouldn't need to worry would he? If it didn't then the worst he could fear was a few bumps, bruises and even a few scrapes. "I would be dumb to try and jump off a cliff on the first test.. so a hill is the best idea." He gave her a reassuring smile to ease the worried look she gave. "I'm glad.. It warms me to know you truly are interested." He smiled looking to the sky. He'd come out this night just to see them.. and he'd found a connection to his past and a young friendship given a second chance. That was the best part of this night in his opinion.. a chance to have a friend that knew him from his youth.

Yumitoko II Alright then, you seem pretty certain so I'm sure that's for the best. Could I watch?" She was intrigued by the idea, surely it would be an exciting time. "Cross my heart and hope to die, stick a horn in my eye",she said light heartedly with a grin, it was nice to see she had made someone so happy.

Quote: He thought about what it might be like to have a spectator with wings watching the first trial for such a big project. She could give him insight from the ground... another point of view incase he missed something from the first run of it. This sounded better to him than going it alone. He'd never thought about taking on an assistant for any of his projects.. say for the few times his mother allowed her rabbit familiar to aid him in things. "I'd like for you to be there when I do test it, thank you. Your presence would be most welcome." He gave her a warm smile once more, nodding his head and twisting it so that his forelock wouldn't slouch in his eyes. It was a nice feeling to have a familiar face from his youth, one not his sisters or any other of his family. He'd met a few foals when he was young and scouting about.. but then.. where were those soquili to this day? She was so far the first foal he'd met that he'd run back into.

Yumitoko II Zaniah beamed,"really?" She didn't really need his confirmation to believe it but automatically asked anyway,"thank you so much!" She wasn't exactly sure how it'd look or how it would attach but that was all the fun to her, it was a mystery. Zaniah always kept her childhood in mind, every foal she had met she remembered by face if not by name, she couldn't ever forget a face.

Quote: "Really, I truly mean what I said. I would be honored to have you there for the... unveiling as it could be called." He gave a slight chuckle. "Besides.. with your eyes on the ground.. you could possibly help me get more than just the one view of things. It's always good to have fresh eyes on it when you're trying something new." He smiled to her once more. The night was progressing deeper into lateness. The night songs from the creatures usually active so late rang through the clearing. "Zaniah, The hour grows late.. Would you like to meet me here in the morning? We could do the trip to my work space tomorrow then.. If you like that it. IF so.. I'll have to bid you a fond good night and catch some rest before daylight."

Yumitoko II "I can only try my best for you Cad. As long as you are confident in your tinkering then I will try my best to help, if I may call it that." She felt her cheeks go rosy under her dark pelt. Zaniah looked at him almost in disbelief of his request but then the smile returned to her face,"I would", she nodded. While she was sad that he had to go she was happy to see him in the morning, or course that meant adjusting her routine as her family were quite nocturnal. "Forgive me if I get tired. My family are mostly nocturnal", she began to feel shy about discussing this with him,"I am sorry."

Quote: "I'm sure you will do fine in helping me.." He nodded as he said it. He meant it. He believed she would do as she said and try her best to help him. "I'm glad. And I understand if it's early for you.. I could perhaps come in the afternoon? It'd allow you some more sleep I think." He stifled a slight yawn. "forgive me my own yawn. While my grandmother use to roam at all hours day and night.. I fear I take more after my father and stay up mostly during the day.. or I should say.. the afternoon.." He gave a small chuckle.. he'd been one of those up in the noon and part of the night sorts since he'd become an adult.. but it didn't mean he didn't some times like to greet the morning and roam among the dew kissed grass for breakfast.

Yumitoko II Zaniah considered his new offer,"I think that would be best. Thank you." It was clear to her that Cad was defiantly one with family values, she liked that. "I bid you good night Cad. Rest well and I shall see you tomorrow afternoon." She tilted her head slightly and the beads on her necklace rattled slightly.
