Jasiline (Tag Ameleia)
Only a little breathless, Jasiline grinned when she heard the girl beside her oohing over the blue hatchling. She leaned towards Ameleia slightly to whisper back. "That he is! I don' think a lot of people liked his egg..." She shrugged, she hadn't got to the black mamba egg herself before the Touching was called off. "I don' know nuthin about it though."
Zofer
Zofer knew that egg. He knew it all too well and if the candidate lessons he'd been attending had any basis in truth... well he'd just stay right clear of that nasty little blue. He had a pretty face and he'd like it to stay that way Thank You!

Tacelon
It seemed they didn't have long to wait before the hatching got underway. One of the eggs started moving and quickly hatched into a lively green. Not a bronze first, which was supposed to be lucky, but she seemed happy an healthy. Tacelon watched her carefully as she started moving around, but she seemed the kind to want to play and make friends, not attack anyone. If she did hurt anyone, it would probably be because she was too eager to play and didn't know her own strength. He'd just try and stay out of her way. Still, it was nice to see the happy youngster romping about.
The next dragon to hatch was certainly less energetic. The blue's movements seemed more precise, the movements more economical than his sisters. Not that that was saying much; she seemed not to care if she wasted energy. The blue seemed calm enough, until he began to hiss. Tacelon turned his full attention to the sound and studied the blue. His eyes still seemed calm, but that was not a happy sound. What could he want?

Ameleia turned to look over toward the girl that speaking to her, "Really? I was able to get as far as meeting that egg so I can't say I know why that might be." She mused, wondering what it was about the pretty colored blue that made it so that he people weren't a fan of that particular egg. No matter, even if it wasn't the most well loved of the eggs he was sure that someone on the sands, or maybe watching in the stands, would love him very much.
Her attention went back to watching the two hatchlings as they moved about the sands at their own pace, curious as to what their next move might be. He wondered if they had an idea yet who it was that they wanted to partner with or if they were inspecting everyone still, looking for someone that was perfect to them most likely. From what she had learned they would know when they saw each other, that it would be an amazing, life changing meeting. This she knew first hand since she had seen the way that her best friend was acting these days after meeting with his pretty green called Phesoth. It was something she was excited to experience herself if she were so lucky.

Ashlyn
Ashlyn giggled softly when she saw the green coming towards the candidates, thinking the little one had a lot of energy. She was just wondering who would be chosen by the green dragon, when she heard another egg beginning to hatch and she turned her head in that direction. She watched carefully as a head emerged from the egg and gasped in delight seeing the colors of this blue dragon. She tilted her head slightly, seeing how he stayed where he was, not making any advancements towards the candidates. Did he not have a partner within them or was he just bidding his time?
She thought about the day of the touching and remembered some saying that this one had not been a friendly sort. She thought maybe this blue dragon just did things differently. People were like that too, some took time to warm up or were only warm around those they trusted. Maybe he didn't trust most people and his rider would bring him out more. It was too soon to tell, but she would be eager to see what happened with both these dragons.

Jasiline (Tag to Ameleia)
"I didn't either." She admitted with another shrug, green eyes still watching the blue and to a lesser extent, his green sister out on the Sands. "I heard it was shovin people away. I figure as he hasn't between'd though he's probably got a partner here? They between if there isn't a candidate for them right?" Who was she really to know in all honesty? She was a hold girl half wild from chasing felines with her family. She was a huntress with a bit of a head for numbers but no real talents outside of being quiet (when she remembered to be) and a quick hand with a skinning knife.
The rest of her learning had come from the onslaught of lessons she'd received upon arriving at the Weyr.

It was all playing out before her once again and as Emora stared out at the shivering dragon eggs she couldn't help, but feel a sense of dread as nostalgia bubbled up within her mind. So many eggs? Would one of them turn violent? At least the Black Mamba seemed much more inclined to simply be left alone.
Not that Emora could blame him. I mean really who wanted to be out here on show like some beast in a cage? At least once the dragons impressed they got to slink away to get food. The remaining candidates wouldn't have the same dignity. No they'd be stuck standing out here until there were no more eggs to stand for. After all that was simply how things were done.
Sighing Emora shook her head casting a glance at the other candidates before turning back to the eggs keeping one weathered eye on the Black Mamba Blue. She wouldn't be scarred again, she swore silently to herself as her fingers tightened into fists. If a dragon attacked her she'd fight back, beyond that she just wanted them to leave her the hell alone unless they planned to impress to her.

It seemed that Wild Dog and Black Mamba had very different ideas of what they wanted to do. Whilst the blue slunk off to hide among the eggs, the green eagerly bounded toward the candidates. Her brother could skulk and lurk all he wanted, there was fun to have and she planned to enjoy it. The green's energetic path led her through the group of boys, the green hatchling bumping into the candidates as she moved far too quickly to be graceful. Moving swiftly through the boy's, Wild Dog came to a sudden halt. The green's head whipped around. She pivoted around completely and reared up on her back legs, forefeet thumping into the chest of Hennory. Her eyes lacked the characteristic rainbow taken on to signal impression, but the green stared the boy over carefully. Just what was on her mind was a mystery as slowly swirling blue eyes stared into the boy's eyes.
Meanwhile, back with the clutch, another egg began to rock. The Secretary Bird egg swayed from side to side. The hatchling inside clearly intent on escaping soon. The movements became more and more energetic, the egg rocked forward and then swung backwards. A dull crack resounded through the cavern as the white egg collided with its neighbour, Elephant. The larger egg fell onto its side a large crack marring it's surface. A similar crack was on the Secretary Bird egg, which a gangly brown hatchling was quickly scrambling out of.
The pale brown stood in the sand outside of his egg, looking around the cavern and shuffling from foot to foot. The hatchling tilted his head when a rumbling came from the large brown egg behind him. Turning around the brown walked to the egg, resting his feet on the shell and shoving his head into the dark opening. The the brown gave an inquisitive chirp to whoever was hiding inside. Wasn't it about time they came out now? They couldn't stay in there forever.

Ashlyn
Ashlyn watched the green go towards the boys and arched an eyebrow as she seemed to practically pounce on one of the boys. She didn't see the signs of it impressing, so she wondered what exactly it was doing. Her eyes trailed back to the black mamba and noticed it was hiding among the eggs, obviously not liking the audience surrounding him. She felt sorry for him, knowing it must be a lot to have all eyes on him.
Out of the corner of her eyes, she saw the white egg starting to move and noticed it knock into the big, brown egg. She let out an involuntary gasp when she saw that, hoping the larger egg had not been hurt. She didn't have much time to worry as a little brown dragon emerged from the white egg and went to look into the bigger egg. She smiled softly, finding this a very amusing scene, seeing the brown one as a very curious dragon.

Zofer
The next two to hatch, or rather... one and a half? Had Zofer's attention more closely than their smaller siblings. He remembered the brown's intense dig through his mind, in particular his knowledge of his craft. His initial objection to the intrusion had faded. Really it hadn't been that bad. It was just the first egg he'd ever touched and he'd not been prepared. He wouldn't make that mistake again.
If the Secretary bird egg was a brown though, then that huge Elephant egg just HAD to be a bronze. Zofer could easily see himself riding a bronze dragon. Really, he had no other expectation. If he didn't leave the sands to return to the sea then he would leave it with a handsome bronze hatchling at his side.
The Elephant egg had left a favorable impression on him too. It was thanks to the larger egg that he hadn't left the touching as rattled as he might have.

Mei
The blue seemed to want to slink fully out of sight, causing Mei's brows to knit. What was it doing hiding? That certainly wouldn't do him or anyone else any good, especially now that she had to worry about it potentially sneaking up on them later when they became more distracted by the other hatchings… which was quickly becoming the case despite her best efforts.
The two eggs that were rocking caused her attention to drift, watching the antics between the newly hatched brown and the large Elephant egg. The corner of her mouth quirked, watching with curiosity as she wondered to herself if this was the typical way hatchings went. Did the larger egg's residence need coaxing out?
The green-- wait, had it Impressed already? She looked around for it, sucking in a breath when she realized who it was standing over. Was that it? Had he Impressed? Or was he looking down the face of the dragon that was going to maul him? Her muscles tensed, worried for her friend.
Hennory
Hennory was keenly aware of the green's trek toward the boys, watching the green with curiosity, and even a touch of wariness as she bumped into candidates with her ungainly movements. As she passed him, Hennory would be lying if he said he'd felt somewhat disappointed, not being worth a second look from the creature. He'd been completely unprepared for the deceptively quick movements that knocked him right off his feet. The green's claws luckily didn't have much purchase on his flesh, but his chest heaved with a gasp as he regained his breath. Sand was a lot harder feeling when one fell upon it, despite how soft and slippery it was underfoot. His hind end ached, but he only had eyes for the green, his own grey ones wide as he tried desperately to read her intent.
But he wasn't being mauled yet. She was just.. staring at him. Evaluating him, perhaps wondering if he was worth of her. Was he? He honestly didn't know, but one could hope. He licked his lips anxiously, finding them suddenly dry for more reasons than just he heat of the sands. Breathe in. Exhale slowly. Don't upset the baby dragon.
"I hope you didn't find me to be in your way." The droll words rolled off his tongue in his typical deadpan humor, even as the last word quavered with the raw excitement of the moment.

Z'ke
He was far back from the events on the Sands, and his mind was farther still. Both rider and dragon were partially zoned out as one shared the memories of his own Impression with the other.
The impression of a young man in the Stands which had got Zarike's hopes up momentarily, then the intrusion of Ionan onto the Sands, Zarike's subsequent race to try and protect the obstinate little boy and the chaos that ensued. Z'ke's face broke into a silly grin even as he remembered Aioth's speedy arrival, his staredown and 'attack'. See. You clawed me.
You probably deserved it. Aioth lowered his head and gently bumped Z'ke. A small thread of sorry and love accompanied the subtle gesture.
"It's ok Aioth. I wouldn't change that day for anything. I love you." He turned around and grabbed the blue head, hugging it to his chest.
Dizzian (Tigrith to Calith)
They were late, but neither really seemed to mind. Tigrith slipped in, soaring through the open cave entrance and right over top of the eggs as she sought an empty perch in the stands. Tigrith sent the Sr Gold a thread of apology. Sorry Calith darling. Your babies are wonderful! The agile little green executed a very tight little twist and landed perfectly between two larger dragons, not even grazing a wingtip or tail. She preened with pleasure as Dizzian scratched her neck ridges, tracing the pattern of stripes up the green's spine.
Dizzian stayed in her straps on Tigrith's neck, leaning forward on her folded arms, looking over Tigrith's neck to the clutch below, a faint smile on her lips. She'd stay up here for now. At least until she spotted a friend in the crowd she could bother.

Alara:
The wild rocking of the secretary bird egg had captured Alara's attention for a moment. She had not had the chance to visit that one and knew nothing about the mind of the dragonet that lay inside. Briefly she hoped that it's swinging about didn't having it hitting the blue who had hatched earlier or things could get messy. Naturally the egg missed the dragonet who was still stalking the clutch and instead hit the massive egg behind it.
Alara shook her head in amusement, unconcerned when it seemed that Calith was not objecting . With the wild dog dragonet over by the boys she could afford to watch the pale brown dragonet who seemed much more interested in one of his fellow hatchlings well unhatched ones, than the candidates. This was going to be one of those weird times when half a dozen dragonets ended up on the sands and candidates weren't sure where they were supposed to be looking or just how safe it was, Alara was sure of it.
After standing multiple times Alara had come to accept that you really couldn't rush these things, dragons would find their partners in due time regardless of how hot, tired or hungry their partners got in the interim. Her first time standing she'd been snapped at for getting bored between eggs hatching and trying to doodle in the hot sands with her toes. She thankfully hadn't been kicked off the sands but she had gotten extra chores afterwards and from then on sandals stayed on her feet and Alara stayed alert even when nothing was happening.
Although things were happening now, they just didn't concern Alara much, well unless the green that had went off towards the boys abandoned the candidate it seemed interested in and moved towards Evzen. Then she'd have an interest in seeing if anything came of that.

Mairin
Nothing was for certain yet but Mairin felt something tense in her stomach when the wild dog green knocked over Hennory and seemed focused on him. "Please, please." She murmured under her breath. She had never imagined coming here that she'd end up so concerned about wanting someone else to get a dragon. Focused on what was happening between boy and dragonet Mairin was completely oblivious now to the goings on within the clutch and elsewhere on the sands.

The sudden crash and cracking sound of the secretary bird egg actually drew a small smile from Emora as she watched the gangly little brown peek in at his companion. She couldn't help, but wonder if this ones personality was as colorful as his shell had been. Still it seemed nothing would be done until the Elephant egg decided to come out and play.
Glancing around she noticed how intently all the boys were staring at the elephant egg and couldn't help a derivative snort. Of course they'd stare. . .they were all hoping for a bronze and not even paying a wit of attention to the lovely brown that had just hatched. Typical men, not interested in anything, but a shiny hide. Why they wouldn't spare a single look for a. . .and Emora felt her throat tighten as she avoided looking at the little green that was bounding around on the sands.
No. She didn't want to see anymore greens. Just the sight of their hides made her wince and want to tear up. One mauling and betweening was enough. Still the fact stood that all the men seemed to care about was bronze hide. Hmph she'd be perfectly happy on a brown herself if one ever deemed to choose her.

Lysandor
The blue seemed reluctant to come and greet the candidates Lysandor noticed as it went to hide amongst its unhatched siblings, though already the green seemed to have narrowed down a candidate and even. A pity the blue didn't want to join in looking for someone to become its companion.
Flexing his fingers and feeling a little jealous of Hennory although it didn't seem that the bonding had begun he returned his gaze looking to see if he could spot any other eggs hatching. Oh! There was the secretary bird egg and from it burst forth a brown, although pale from just hatching it was a beautiful hatchling. Though he had noticed that in its attempt to hatch the one egg had crashed into the larger one and that had caused it to crack as well.
The little brown seemed curious to see who was inside the larger egg and so was Lysandor chewing on the bottom of his lip in anticipation.
