I don't know, but it is strange that he just left his invisibility cloak. It could be a metaphor for protection, or will it be used against him by Death Eaters, or Draco Malfoy?

dang thats some pretty deep thinking!! go you!! but i dont think J.K. will forget about it. she would probably do something more interesting with it than just making it appear in his trunk.

I don't think it'll be an issue. She's never covered every singe moment in every character's life. Between Big D's death and his funeral, there was plenty of time for him to get it back.
