Alea Iacta Est (Chapter 1)

Every time Naruto's foot hit the snow, he was sending out a small pulse of chakra. He noticed quickly that it wasn't as effective as it is on the ground/dirt (because it was an earth-related technique). Also, the wind being blown towards him was masking anything noise-wise that was more than 10 feet away from him.
Koori was passively sniffing the air as they went along, but that too wasn't as effective in this weather.
She had picked up a certain scent that was slightly abnormal amongst animals, but she disregarded it.
Wait... don't be so certain. Keep your pace up, don't slow and act normal. Remember our training.
He was mentally linked with the white fox after a certain training exercise that they underwent with the mummy. Their bodies and minds would work together in synergy now.

After 5 more minutes of walking the two stopped next to a tree. They stood there staring at something in the distance. The wind was dying down at random intervals before picking up again. This was why they had temporarily stopped, because the wind died down slightly. He looked over his shoulder with his cloak's hood still pulled up.

The wind had infact died down, but it was only a ruse. Without warning, the wind gusted sharply in the direction of the man's face, catching his hood and blowing it back. The wind contained the smallest amount of chakra, allowing suspicion only in consideration of its focus. However, its source would soon be revealed due to the discovery of the face under the hood. It was a face that was familiar to the man and, keeping hidden in the trees, he called out in a strong tone.

"What are you looking for here?"

Naruto winced at the chilled wind against his face. The hood being blown back revealed that he had blond hair, blue eyes, and three diagonal lines on both cheeks. Him and the white fox immediately located the direction of the man's voice and turned to it. Naruto didn't recognize the voice.
They weren't able to see where he was exactly, so Naruto called out in a raised voice, "Are you the same person who saved that little girl?" Naruto's eyes were scanning up and down the trees he was looking at in general.

There was a pause after the man's question. In a slightly softer tone, the man responded very briefly, clinging close to a tree trunk to avoid sight.

"But thats not why you're really here... is it?"

Naruto stayed where he was as his white fox walked behind him to reach his other side. He was trying to listen to the man's voice, it was starting to sound slightly more familiar. Naruto raised his voice over the winds again, "I heard a shinobi "lives" in this forest, and maybe he's from the Hidden Uchiha Village too?" He let a pause sink in before continuing, "Because I can't trust anyone else right now, something happened there three years ago. I came all this way to find someone I can trust."

The winds died instantly and without warning. The man spoke in barely a whisper, but it sounded so much louder in the silence after the deafening breeze.

"And why..."

The man appeared from above, having jumped out of the tree. His fall was slower than it should have been and, from the way his cloak fluttered about, it appeared as if he were riding the air. He landed softly, standing his ground as he drew back his hood to reveal an unmistakable face. Silver hair danced aside his sharp chin, fluttering back and forth between his striking eyes: while most eyes were white with a colored iris, his were black with a white iris.

"... would you trust me? Wasn't it my duty?... Besides... we both know I'm a complicated person to know... much less trust."

Koori's eyes were the first to dart upwards as she caught movement. Naruto immediately recognized his comrade's face as Vegeta's (or Veg for short). He was 2nd in command of the Uchiha Village and was primarily in charge of defending it. Naruto's voice was back to a normal volume, "Because you weren't directly interested or involved in the politics of the Village. You disappeared way before the attack even took place. That's who I need to put my trust in right now."
He threw one of his hands to the sides (the one that wasn't holding the bow) and bobbed his head low slightly, "I mean, I could throw out theories all day? But you are the most non-suspicious person I could think of to contact." He went back to a straight posture and placed his hand down as the cloak fell with it, "I tracked down where several others are in general, but I felt compelled not to approach them. They are pretending to live normal lives amongst other civilians, and I find that suspicious." Naruto didn't mention the fact that he had tracked them with someone else.

Vegeta went silent, his eyes lowering in contemplation. It was then that he focused on the wolf, studying it with a slight curiosity before returning his vision back to Naruto. It was true that Vegeta was responsible for defending the village and though he abandoned his post, he did not do so out of desire; as such, it behooved him to assist Naruto in this matter. His voice was quiet and calm with an air of confidence, suggesting that he took things seriously and would do his best to see them through.

"So what do you need me to do?"
