Mot's gaze fell to Gene as she flicked a strand of hair from his face, frowning softly at her words. It would be sad, to see so many of your friends leave. "Its not too late, you know. To make more friends in your class."
"If theres another event at the school, maybe open up a miniature cafe? It would be fantastic experience, and a wonderful way to chat with people you haven't met yet." He took a short sip of his coffee, enjoying the close proximity he had to Gene at the moment, keeping his free arm curled around her ghostly form.
"After all, your coffee is best there is. Its sure to draw in the best of tastes." He winked down at her with a playful smile.

Giggling a little at his compliment, Gene nodded in agreement. "True, very true - meeting people through my coffee would be a good idea. I'm not sure if I brew the best, though." She smiled, flicking his nose. It was nice to hear him say that, though, even if he was only saying it out of boilfriend obligations. "It would be nice getting to know the younger students, too. I would have loved a Hob showing me the ropes as a Snot."

Mot grinned as she flicked his nose. Yes, he was always a man made up of 90% flattery. It was just how he was. Not being judged for it was nice. He just didn't know how to turn it off.
"Right? I feel like they need someone to have their back. Someone to turn to in times of danger. Being a student at Amity is so dangerous, you know?" He'd had friends to get through the bad times, but having an older and experienced upperclassman was even better.

"Mm, definitely. Especially if the Hunters ever decide to try something again - which they more than likely will." She sighed, shaking her head in disdain. "I talked to one of them once - I don't understand why they lump us with the Horsemen. They're the ones who try to kill humans - not us. We just spook as a means of survival, like how they eat to survive." She grimaced, her mind's eye replaying the scene of the large dark skinned Hunter falling. All because of Medea, all because of the Horsemen's murderous scheming.
She crinkled her nose, but let it go. The Horsewoman would get what was her due. "It's a shame no one really believes us about the Hunters, though. Xiu and I are hoping to use the cafe as a speak easy, as well."

Mot nodded softly. He was glad to know Gene was as wary of the Horsemen as he was. It was their wicked plans that had the hunters after them, right? He wasn't fully aware of their overall scheme, but enough to be distrustful.
"Talking to the hunters is nearly impossible, too. They deal with something so much bigger than themselves.. and have to answer to people much stronger than they are too." He almost felt badly for them. Almost. They still did unspeakably terrible things to his friends, after all.
"That's a good idea. A safe place to talk about it is definitely needed."

"Yeah, I suppose they're just following orders for the most part..." She sighed, a small frown pulling at the corners of her mouth. There were some, though, that seemingly loved to do their job. It was so hard to just stamp a label on them. "I just wish we could make them, and even some of the students, see how bad the Horsemen actually are. Killing off our FEAR source is just stupid."

Mot nodded slowly. "If there was somehow a way to get them to see it.. Horsemen are just so sly and tricky. Its not as easy to see their nefarious nature like it is with Hunters most of the time." His mind reminded him of Sal, and the deal that Horsemen was trying to make with him. Tell him about the wrong doings of students? Maybe he was just humouring him like one would with a scareling playing a game.
"Until then I guess all we can do is be cautious."

"Yeah...we need to stay on the defensive around them, I think." She sighed, looking towards the setting pumpkin sun. She hated the thought of the Hunters hurting her friends, yes, but she truly considered the Horsemen to be at fault. They were the ones who got them hurt, they were the ones who provoked the Hunters in the first place.
Another deep sigh.
"I'm sorry; I know you just wanted to spend some time together without talking about stressful things."

Mot chuckled lightly, taking a stick of jerky for himself. "It's okay. It helps to talk it out, I think. Especially with someone close to you. I honestly don't mind talking about serious issues." Life wasn't always happy and care free, and he found a lot of his most meaningful relationships were with those who weren't afraid to discuss the tricker parts of life. Or unlife.
Their solitary spot on the top of the cliff, the murmuring noise of the nearby waterfall and the glow of the pumpkin sun really did make for a romantic get away, though. Maybe he shouldn't waste it on talk of hunters and despair.
"So, who's your favorite teacher here? I haven't had many multiple encounters with any one teacher so far."

Laughing a little at the sentiment they both shared, Gene shook her head with whimsy. I can't quite say - I've yet to have the same teacher twice. Renegath is enjoyable, but I've only encountered him because of play auditions." She hummed, tapping her chin. "I'm more fond of the Trick or Treaters, though. Did I ever tell you that Rage taught me how to fight?" She giggled at the memory, though she'd wanted to cry at the time.
"What about you? Any of the teachers or Trick or Treaters that you enjoy?"

"Rage did?" Mot asked with surprise. "Wow, you must be a force to be reckoned with now." From what he knew of Rage, he was one ToTer that was not to be taken lightly in a fight. Mot would perhaps be wise to keep Gene on his good side, he mused in the back of his mind.
"I admit that my situation is similar. I don't think I've had a teacher more than once. The only one I've taken lessons from more than once would be Professor QB in his DETH excursions." He shrugged lightly and tilted his head. "As for Trick Or Treaters I have limited experience with them as well."

Titling her head a little, Gene gave Mot a pondering pair of slated eyes. "DETH? You mean the human huggers?" She didn't actually know much about the organization, other than that they were the antithesis to the Horsemen. Where they wanted to kill, DETH wanted to preserve - which the Doppelganger agreed with - but from what she'd heard from the gossip mill was that a lot of their members went so far as to not spook humans at all, depriving Halloween of potential FEAR.
She shrugged a little, snacking on another sandwich. "I'm afraid I don't know them that well."

"My encounters in DETH have been mixed, one had me meeting various types of humans. It was the most bizzarre experience of my life. I was attack hugged by a band of giant humans twice!" Mot laughed though, despite having been terrified at the time. "The other encounter was less than fond, as Hunters appeared and well... things just became very complicated, as we managed to get caught in their internal dispute with a defected member." Gosh, but he had nearly forgotten all of that. He'd never really talked about it since it happened.
"I've also done some activities to earn badges, all of them bizarre and slightly humiliating. They seem to be geared at understanding humans better." Mot shrugged again, setting down his now empty thermos of coffee. "The reason I'm interested in them is the fact that the Horsemen's intentions threatens our Fear source. I'd rather try to understand and protect that source than ignore the problem."

Giving a light hum in the back of her throat, the ghoul shifted her positioning so that she was in Mot's lap, leaning back on his chest and sitting cross legged. Yes, much better. "Oh? That doesn't sound too enjoyable...I didn't even know that Hunters could defect." She took the final sip of her own coffee, inhaling deeply. "Though I understand your interest, screechy. Just don't get to the point where you refuse to spook a human, okay?" She murmured, reaching up to kiss him under the chin.
More silence as the sun continued sinking, and the birds came out. She gave a small yawn, stretching while avoiding hitting Mot in the face. "What do you like more? Night or day?"

"Apparently they can, then again he kind of died so.." Maybe not. Mot's face flushed as Gene made herself comfortable on his lap, smiling warmly and wrapping his arms around her middle. "I promise," He chuckled, "After all, it would be detrimental to my health if I didn't." He returned her kiss with a light one of his own pressed to Gene's hairline above her forehead.
"Hmm.. I enjoy night most. It's quiet, serene. It is also when I get the most things done. How about you? You strike me as a morning ghoul though.."
