02/15/07Another day, another sunrise, another sunset, another meal...
Well, sometimes. That last one isn't always as certain as the others. I wonder how certain the first three are from time to time.
I need more to do with my life. I used to think hunting and eating took up enough time; that life in the forest was all I needed. Unfortunately, when you're perched in a tree or behind a bush waiting for some dumb prey animal to wander into its inevitable demise, apparently your mind can begin wandering. I've been doing WAY too much thinking lately.
What more could I possibily want? I have my freedom, I have the forest, and every once in a while, I have a decent meal. What the hell is wrong with that, I ask you?!?
So, why do I feel like something is missing all of a sudden?

02/15/07So much happening all at once. First I moved in with Nienna, an enormous step in itself..and now...it seems that we're taking care of a little Fae toddler.
Don't get me wrong...she seems adorable enough and seeing as she doesn't seem to have anyone else to take care of her, I certainly couldn't say no...
But, I can't help but wonder...are we really ready for this? I mean, I'm not exactly experienced with raising kids and I can only assume neither is Nienna. I am in no way comfortable with this situation, though I wonder if it's just the rate at which these things are happening all at once...or is it something else weighing so heavily on my mind? Are we going to be able to handle this responsibility? For little Eudora's sake, I certainly hope so...

02/15/07Eudora found a new home!
First, Eudora found a door...in a tree! She put her hand in the crack and the door appeared! Down a long stairwell she crawled, finding a big guy at the bottom! Then a nice lady! Eudora decided she liked these two! The lady was nice and the guy was funny! They called each other "Cabel" and "Nienna"...I think. Anyway, I even talked! Well, out loud. This and talking in Eudora's head is easy, but talking out loud is hard. I can do it though! And I'm going to get better at it. I promise!
So, Eudora is staying with the fun Pae for now. They even have wingies like Eudora! There's lots of stuff here in the tree and...ooo...what's that......?

02/15/07*sigh* Whether Aion, Merion, or Naiad, life is never easy for us water-dwellers. It's a semi-lonely existence and there's not exactly much we can do about it. There aren't many of us, afterall.
Then again, being anti-social certainly doesn't help.
I've tried, I really have. Something always seems to get in the way, however, whether its my own temper or the attitudes of others...there's always something.
I've got to do something to get out of this 'hole.' I'm not sure how much longer I can take it.
Being alone.

02/15/07Daddy took me to a place with lots of people. It was noisy and stuff, but he wouldn't take me where I wanted to go. He went to talk to some green lady instead. I think he called her "Mom." Another guy called her "Takeko." She tried to take me away from Daddy, but I showed her. I kicked and screamed and finally bit her. Daddy took me back rather quickly.
Guess I showed them. The lady tasted funny though. Not like Daddy when I first bit him in the forest when I was a baby. It was...salty...and metallic. It wasn't a bad "funny" really... She wasn't just green afterwards either, like me. She was green and red. Everyone seemed upset for some reason, but I was just tired, so went back to sleep now that I was back with Daddy again...

04/04/07(Devyn and Sean) ----- Sean, hearing mischief decided to investigate, only to be hit with a paintball as soon as he stuck his head inside. Furious he aimed his crayon wand at the shooter, turning her completely green. He chuckled - she looked very much like a giant piece of broccoli! [AHHH! *falls out of rafter and runs around* IM GREEEN!!!!! gonk crying ] Sean only laughed harder at her reaction, rocking back and forth unable to contain himself. This was great! She just needed a great big glob of cheese on her head now and it would be perfect!
"Too bad I don't have a cheese wand!" Devyn: *watches Sean, wishing he'd thought to use his new wand for that first*Sean was still chuckling when he noticed a little boy looking over at him wistfully. He grinned and gave a little wave. Devyn looked up at the other boy and scowled. Waving his wand at the other boy, he stuck out his tongue and made a face.Sean frowned. What was this kid's problem he was just being friendly. Sean waved his wand back at the boy and tried to discreetly point it at his tail and changed it green. Sean's chest rumbled with laughter that he was trying to suppress. Devyn glanced back, raising an eyebrow. He was already green, so what was the big deal? Plus, he LIKED green. In fact...
Grinning, Devyn turned his own crayon wand on Sean's hair.Sean shivered as it felt like something had just been poured on his head. He raised his eyes to discover his hair was now green. He grinned - finally someone he could have fun with! He pointed his own wand at the boys hair and returned the favor. Devyn hissed softly at the other boy, baring his tiny fangs...not so tiny for long. Almost imperceptibly at first, then more noticeably, his sharp little fangs began to lengthen, soon nearly double the size of his regular teeth.
Forget turning things green...he was all-green now anyway. Waving the wand once more, he aimed for any parts of Sean that were still not-green. Might as well finish the job, right?...Sean's chuckling quickly faded as he noticed the little boys teeth growing into fangs. 'Well,' he thought, 'fun never does last. Looks like things are getting dangerous, time to go!' But he couldn't move with the boy still looking at him! He shivered again as he felt his entire body change to green. He shook his head and aimed his wand at the light above changing it to green, and causing to the room to flood with glowing green light. He hoped it would distract the boy. ... Devyn's eyes widened as the entire room flooded with green light. NOW they were talking! Grinning, he only looked more sinister with the fangs, though he was actually quite pleased in this case. As a lover of green, what more could he possibly ask for than a whole room full of the lovely color? Staring happily at the light, nothing else seemed worth his attention anymore.Sean grinned - it worked! With a pop he disappeared only to reappear behind the little boy. He pulled sharp on his tail before disappearing again, this time completely. That would show him!
Devyn squeaked in surprise, whirling around to confront his attacker...only to discover that he had vanished into thin air again. Growling softly, his eyes darted around wildly. Where had he gone?!?
Devyn's familiar snake, Fang, lounged sleepily nearby watching his Pae'il but showing no incentive at all to help whatsoever.Sean hadn't disappeared completely, just moved high up in a dark corner of the ceiling where no one could see him. He liked hiding spots, they kept him out of danger after his tricks, so he could sit and watch his handiwork. The boy below him was looking around and Sean couldn't help but laugh, the chuckle echoing throughout the room. It was a good thing he was hidden so well, the boy would never be able to find him!
Growling, Devyn only got more and more angry as the laughter echoed through the room, seeming to mock him and his confusion. He struggled to control his irritation, eyes still darting wildly to search for his 'attacker'. One way or another, he planned to find him and get his revenge.
Nearby, Fang's tongue tested the air and his eyes opened again sleepily. Glancing casually up into the corner at the other demonic Pae'il, the snake could have smirked to himself as he remained quiet and resumed his nap....Sean heard the growl. Uh oh. Things were really getting dangerous. He'd played enough tricks to know that mischief could quickly turn to mayhem if he didn't skaboodle out fast enough. Though he really wanted to stay and watch the boy look for him......but another glance at those fangs changed his mind. He didn't want to get caught by those!! With another pop he appeared next to the door and made his way out into the grasslands.
... Growing completely frustrated at this point, Devyn plopped down on the floor, his back to the wall. Leaning back and crossing his arms, he glared at the room in general. Sure, it was still green, which helped his mood, if only a little, but he was still mad that the other Pae'il had disappeared before he could get his revenge. He turned and glared at Fang as well. "Big help you are," he sneered.
Fang opened one eye to glare back. You didn't start a staring contest with a snake.

Of course not. At least, not if I just sit around here waiting for them to change. I have to take action. I have to take the first step if I ever hope to change this sad existence I call a life.

04/16/07Nienna assures me that she'll be by my side throughout all this. While I still have some doubts about my ability to raise a child, I feel a little better knowing that I have Nienna's support. She really seems to believe in me. It's a wonderful feeling, if a little strange and unfamiliar.
Who knows...maybe Eudora could turn out to be one of the greatest things that could even have happened to us.

05/16/07Daddy gave me a new toy! It's a plushie and 'e's my friend! I don't go anywhere without 'im and e's cuddly and soft to snuggle with when I have ta' takes a nap! I don't like naps...but at least now I don't have ta' take 'em alone! I can still get out of the room whenever I wants though... Hee hee...daddy and mommy can't figure out how I does it.

05/16/07Tides change, even if the scenery never does.
I haven't seen the others in some time now. There were so few of us to begin with...
I wonder now if something could have happened to them all. I hope not. My heart feels heavy whenever I even consider the possibility. I'm not sure I can take being all alone. Completely alone, that is.
I've started journeying up onto the land more and more frequently. Exploring the area around the lake a bit to see if I can find any sign of the others. I haven't found Dax or Merric, or even any of the other Naiads, but I did find something unusual the other day. A small, soft form that looks like it could be a child's toy. The strangest thing is the fact that it resembles us...Naiads I mean.
I was afraid to bring it back to the lake itself. I mean, the water might ruin it, but for some reason, I sort of like it. Perhaps I take it as a sign that there are others like me out there. Someone had to make the toy, right? Instead, I keep it hidden deep between the roots of a tree near the water's edge. Every once in a while I head up to the surface and thanks to the necklace I wear, I spend some time beneath the tree, studying the plushie Naiad.
Perhaps this is rather silly and childish of me...but I don't care. Who is there to judge me anyway?

05/27/07Aspen and I had a wonderful time at the river the other day. Something strange happened later in the day, however. I'm not exactly sure what's going on, but something isn't right on Telrunya. A horrible screech sounded throughout the isle, seeming to originate from Dragnid. I've never liked that place before, but now, even from a distance, I'm filled with dread. As if, something were coming, but I was powerless to stop it. Whatever it is. I can only pray that the Guardians protect us...
On a happier note, I found a surprise waiting for me when I came home today!
On my pillow on my bed, a small plushie of an Angelic Plushie sat waiting for me. There was no note, but it must have been a gift from Aspen...right? Afterall, who else could it have been from?

Your new title will be Goddess of the Quiet Woods. With this new title comes the responsibility to care for, protect and maintain the small wooded area surrounding the Fallassian House of Healing, which is the nearest wooded area to Laisidhiel, Tree of Life.
This wooded area is important to the island, and her denizens. Silvana, you will be tasked with preventing the Taint from seeping from Dragnid Forest, and consuming these woods. In addition, you will be granted omniscience over the small woods, and all creatures that dwell therein. You will have an empathic connection to the flora, and a telepathic connection to all fauna. You'll have the necessary powers to protect and heal them, as well as the ability to cleanse the Taint.
You will be able to protect the rabbits who dwell in these woods, however they will remain the charges of Lust, Goddess of Rabbits.((Teig, notes to consider: Silvana only has dominion and omniscience over this small wooded area, and will be the guardian for those critters that live there. She will not have the same power or control in any other wooded area. As she has chosen to align with the Elementals as Earth, she will find that her powers are boosted when she's among nature, in her own woods. Additionally, Silvana will have a camouflage ability that allows her to hide among the trees and foliage, in addition to improved senses that allow her to react and respond instantly to threats to her woods. )) ((Additional Note for anyone reading: Demigods powers and abilities only reign over a small, very specific domain, so their powers may overlap other Pae's powers. Demigods are also allowed to align to any faction and gain that additional unique power, if they choose. ))
