"I lost it. I dropped it during Selene's class... we had a giant plant monster attack us. I forgot to grab it and when I went back, it was gone." he shrugged. "I need to call my mom to let her know I lost it but that required a phone in it's self. So I'm off to get a cheep one." he stopped at the map and frowned at it puting his finger over it as he tried to figure out where the electronics were.

"Oh," Maple nodded, considering what he said for a moment. At the last mention, it didn't seem as if he wanted to talk about anything that had happened with the class. She was inclined to follow with that train of thought, having not liked the results herself even with how informative the lecture had been. "W-we h-had a g-giant sp-spider." Was all she supplied as they stopped in front a directory.
She watched him for a moment as he seemed to be looking over the list and locations. Maple pushed her lips together for a moment, unsure if she should say anything since... she actually knew where the one of the stores was. After all, she had passed by most of them several times, and enough to get a general layout of the place by now. "U-um," the ghoul tried as she extended her hand out to point, "th-there i-is o-one.. th-that w-way..."

"Oh good!" he perked again and tromped off, trusting her. Reading was hard and there were so many lines everywhere. He'd have figured it out, eventually, but this was faster. "So Maple, what do you do besides read books?" and cry, but he didn't mention that.

Oh Hecate, he was trusting her. Maple could feel herself tense up as he moved in the direction she had pointed. Thankfully it was still on the same floor as they were on now, but the witch could only still hope she didn't screw this up. She lingered a little further back, just in case he got angry but still close enough to not lose him and keep his company in a pleasant manner.
She remained silent for a good moment again, trying to figure out a good way to answer his question. Because, honestly she had no idea what to say. Coming to Amityville made her realize how little she did with her life. "Sp-spells?" Though, she honestly hadn't done much with that since getting to school, fearing she'd just blow up her room or the school or something. She wanted to wait until she had taken a few courses before she ventured into all of that again. "St-study?" A little bit of a better answer, and still terribly lame.
"M-my family g-gave m-me a f-few m-mini p-pets t-to c-care f-for..." Just another to add to her lame list of things she did.
"N-not m-much," better because it was true. Andrew probably did a whole slew of really neat things, like play video games and went out and hung out with friends or turned into... whatever he did and wrecked havok and stuff. Not like her, lame little her.

Spells were interesting but the interesting stopped at about there. Basically she was a book worm. How boring for interaction. Useful for actually learning stuff, useful for teams but for doing things? Boring. "What kind of spells? Know anything cool?" a word he had picked up from AJ. He found the aforementioned store and walked right in. She was trailing behind him but it clearly wasn't because she was afraid of his tail and he was happy with that. He made a B line for the phones, he wasn't joking, he needed one bad.

At least they had gotten to the store without any problems. One less thing to worry about and some tension finally got lifted from Maple.
The ghoul followed him to the phones, not with as much intent as he did but at least to follow. And also to not get lost with how much technology was around her, things she had never used in her life and wasn't around her so much as maybe it would be for Andrew. Her coven of witches and warlocks didn't shun it or anything, but they just didn't partake; opting more for a 'simple' kind of life. Her eyes glanced at the display, noticing how run of the mill a similar model to her own seemed to be. It would be tempting to... what was the word, upgrade? If she felt she could be comfortable with it.
She went back to the subject she knew about instead, and what Andrew had asked about. "M-my F-FEAR is.. b-based o-on H-hex M-magic," she told him as she let her fingers tap at one of the more fancy phones. "I-I've b-been t-trying t-to g-get b-better at... all k-kinds th-though. L-like el-elemental..."

"Oh wait... does that make you a reaper?" he glanced at her. Those horns... but well it wasn't too odd. Magic was always a bonus though. "Al my fear is fire... I suspect you could guess that." He glanced back at the phones looking for the one that was the cheapest. It would just be a temporary fix, do he wasn't bothering with any bells or whistles for the moment. As long as he could make calls on it. "Oh did you want one too?"

Maple caught his glance and gave Andrew an awkward little smile. She wasn't offended by his sudden realization, knowing full well that some confusion might arise; though it wasn't common for her family to arrive at school with their horns still. "N-not a v-very g-good ... one," she said simply with a small sigh.
Maple shifted her attention to a different phone as she continued. "Y-yes, I f-figured th-that m-much," she gave the flame demon another half smile as she tapped away, "F-fire m-must b-be am-mazing t-to w-work w-with," controlling a natural element especially one like fire - one that humans feared so much - probably felt so empowering. Something that lead her train of thought to exactly what faction this boil belonged to. Her eyes glanced at him again and she pushed her lips together, hoping and dreading that he wasn't actually a demon ... and that she was offending him in some way.
"Oh," her thoughts went back to phones (it was safer to think about that for now), "n-no. I d-don't n-need an-nother ph-phone." She shook her head. Something fancier and more high tech would just confuse her.

"It's useful." he shrugged. there were worst options. "Makes it hard on the undead though." he didn't go into much more detail than that. "And I understand these things are expensive, useful as Jack but expensive." he grabbed it and took it over to the counter. Letting payment go quickly before plunging out into the rest of the mall. He clearly expected the ghoul to follow.

Maple nodded, needing to say no more about it. She was a little curious as to why he had brought up the undead, though. Even if he was still a monster, he (along with herself even) were higher in the hierarchy of Halloween than they were. Personal dealings? Problems with finding servants at home? Still, she refrained from asking. Andrew didn't seem to want to go further into the subject, neither did she since she didn't know much about them (they weren't as interesting, barely any of them had horns from what she knew of) and he was already at the counter.
Maple followed as he made his purchase and smiled lightly at his comment about the expense. "Th-thing t-tend t-to b-be th-that w-way..." she offered as she followed him out.
"Wh-where t-to?" She asked him once they were on the move again. He had only said they would travel together to get him a new phone. Did this mean she had to tell him about the books? Did he still care or were they just going to walk now?

“I don’t know; anywhere would be good. I’d like to explore a bit and pick up some mini pet supplies… I wound up with a lot more of them than I thought I would from playing at the booths… I guess they are my responsibly or something now.” He sighed. He really didn’t care for the Beebs, especially the one that had taken up residence in his room, chewing on his chews and wanting to go racing. He took off to explore, allowing the stuttering reaper to follow him and asking her the occasional question about her spells and books as they went. Despite his nonchalant attitude he seemed actually interested in both once he got her talking. He pulled her to and through a few of the stores and eyed the scareacade and the chocolate shop. Both would be good places to go later, on another trip. He didn’t get lost at all, and plotted their return to the food court and the front of the mall with ease.

Honestly, the mention of the mini pet supply store was a welcoming suggestion to the young witch. "F-from the b-booths?" She asked him, having gained a few herself. She remembered seeing them as prizes, but frankly her collection had grown the day when she found several small boxes from who knows where outside her door. From family was her only guess, but now she had more to take care of. And she still had yet to grow her Stray and now she had a flock of Grumpkin Kings.
Maple followed along, pleased at least that Andrew was kind enough to allow her to (with far less demeaning comments, at least to her face). Even going as far as engaging her in conversation, which she was finding much easier to do even with her nervous stutter. Conversations and subjects that she was able to go on and on about, and even picking up about video games she had never heard of or various kinds of food from him.
It was, actually, rather pleasant. And no tripping occurred or setting things on fire or getting too terribly lost or anything else. (Though, at that point, Maple could only imagine what horrible thing would happen next).
Rounding about on the entrance, Maple turned to Andrew with a small nervous smile, "P-perhaps w-we sh-should h-head b-back t-to sh-school?" The stay at the maul had lasted longer than she had anticipated, but well at least for good reason, but she could only imagine how much her homework was piling up now.

"Yeah, I don't need anything else. I'll come back later to explore more. Besides, I have other things I wanted to do today." like play video games and check out that house. Maybe that would be tomorrow. Either way he walked the ghoul back to the dorms.
