That was good enough for her. She walked to the kitchen, opened up the fridge, and pulled out several pieces of ice. Grabbing the nearest little towel or she could find, she wrapped them up tight, and returned to the duo.

Marosa looked like he was going to pass out any moment. Riley's expression was less than impressed with his tolerance than pain, but she reached out and placed the pack on his jaw with an unexpected gentleness. She reached out for his hand, and placed it underneath hers, holding the ice pack against himself. When she was sure he had a good hold, she let go.

Keep that on for at least 10 minutes. Then take it off for 10, and repeat the process. On and off. On and off. Don't just leave it on there forever. The swelling should go down in an hour or two, but it won't stop hurting. Take some aspirin for that.

She rolled her eyes over to Sharra, her gaze penetrating for a moment too long, before they slit thinner and her chest lifted in a sigh.

Be careful. Okay? She murmured, leaving her thoughts at that.

Some of the subtle tension that had been lingering in the Nergal's shoulders dissipated at Riley's actions, some part of him joyously glad that she was, in a myriad of ways, still the very same person he respected. Even the smallest kindness would likely smooth over some of the proverbial bumps and bruises she had given Marosa, even if it didn't truly effect the physical ones. Sharra, after all, found that he immensely disliked having his friends at odds with one another. Ah well, best get used to that in good ol' Amityville.

The demon met the mindflayer's gaze unabashedly, though he thought it prudent not to speak his words aloud. 'I will. You have my word on that.' Sharra's life, after all, seemed to be a benign circumstance that had quickly morphed into something viral, putting the young man in a rather precarious situation. "Don't be a stranger, a'right?" He'd missed her.

Well, he'd missed a lot of things, admittedly.

Which was precisely why he felt absolutely no shame with his level of involvement in the lives of his friends at this juncture. He had the sneaking suspicion it was going to get him in actual trouble, mind. It usually did.

Marosa did as Riley said, holding the ice pack against his jaw as he rested his head in the crook of Sharra's neck. He knew he didn't have to worry about skin on skin contact with his friend, and ended up closing his eyes as he gave a small grunt.

Good. That was the only answer Riley needed. Whether Sharra would hold true to it or not was his fate, but never let it be said that she hadn't warned him in advance. She pushed herself back up after Marosa had a firm hold of the ice, and picked up her tentacle in one hand. The bite marks had cut deep, leaving rivulets of blood to wind their way down the smooth, purple skin until they merged at the tip and dripped infrequently to the floor. At least he's got a good bite. And a good friend. Her eyes flickered down to Sharra, and they slit paper thin. The next words she spoke to him were in private; Marosa couldn't hear them. But if he puts either Malodore or Jericho in danger again, I will not hesitate.

It wasn't a threat. Just a promise to clean up the messes she left behind.

I'll leave you alone now. Make sure he keeps the ice on. If I see him swollen tomorrow, I'll be very upset.

The last, she said with a shred of amusement. Upset was, perhaps, not the right word to describe how she'd feel witnessing the marks on Marosa's skin she'd left behind.

She opened the door, and stepped out, but she leaned her head in, and her expression was heavy lidded and sly.

Nice seeing you again. Both of you.

A blond eyebrow inched towards the Nergal's hairline, the spines at his shoulders flickering as Riley concluded her set of advisory warnings. Very slowly, the blond boil nodded, 'I'll impress that upon him. I kinda like seeing him in one piece.' The private sending had a particular sort of gravity imposed upon it, trying to let the ghoul know how seriously he regarded her words. In all truth, he appreciated her blunt honesty. It certainly let a fellow know what to expect.

"I'll keep an eye on 'em." The easy smile had returned, the youth's confidence in the mindflayer growing by the minute. Riley was always intriguing and impressive all at once. Good to see that hadn't changed.

Sharra opened his mouth to say something to the mindflayer's departing line...but something stopped him short. Somehow, it seemed safer to just leave that one to lie where it was and conjecture about the underlying meaning later. Behind closed doors.

"See you later, Riley." That. That would be sufficient for today's exchange.

As she departed, it seemed that the Nergal boil's grip on his friend had tightened ever so subtly. "You...you are going to get me in trouble." A barely audible murmur.

Difficult to tell which party he was addressing, really...Marosa, Riley, or himself.

Eyes flickering down to the wounded fey, Sharra sucked in a slow breath. "All righty then..." He began slowly, acidic gaze narrowing sharply at his companion. "...We're going to keep an ice pack routine going for a while like the lady suggested, and you're going to sit with me to make sure you aren't concussed to hell and back. I'm going to medicate you and you're going to accept that. Because like hell am I allowing you to sit here and throb and feel bad about life all by yourself." There was an authoritative nod at that, the Nergal self-satisfied.

"Now do you have meds or am I going to need to go grab some for you...?"

Giving Sharra a slight glare, the faerie rolled his head back and stared at the ceiling, refusing to let him know if he had any medication or not.

No, the stubborn Gancanagh was going to sit with the pain, and not be any help at all, which was rather typical of him.

"Fffffffff." Was all Marosa could manage, breathing out through his nose and lips, wincing visibly as he slid the ice pack further down his jaw. There was no way he would be able to talk for a little bit, though it wouldn't be long before his body healed itself. Just maybe a week. Or few.

"Lll.... errrr." Came another grunted reply, and this time the faerie clamped his mouth shut with a hiss, really regretting having tried to talk at all.

"Sometimes I wonder if you're allergic to things that are for your own good." The Nergal grumbled, easing the both of them over towards the bed. It was probably a good thing that he was familiar with the layout of the Gancanagh's room, lest he trip over something important on the way there. Suffice to say that he couldn't see his toes.

Being as careful as he could manage with an armful of faerie boil, the blond painstakingly laid Marosa out on the sheets...situating the covers as soon as he was sure that the other wasn't just going to thump backwards onto the bed. He seemed more than a touch unsteady, after all. "Later, eh?" Brows inched towards his hairline. "Why don't we try 'as soon as Sharra gets some from his room'? You don't really want to sit here in throbbing misery for hours do you?" Don't ask questions you don't know, Sharra.

Surely the fey couldn't get into too much trouble in the next five minutes?

Right?

....Right?

Wrong.

Not moving for a moment, Marosa sighed as he watched Sharra go, certain he was out of his room before the faerie snuck off.

Yep. He was getting into trouble, alright.
