This auction was getting better and better. So far, every purchase had been higher than the previous! "I hear four thousand and five!" FD announced happily. "Going once, twice, sold, for four thousand and five gold. Good going Sain! Everyone cheer for Sain and our bidders." The dragon made sure to write down the purchase amounts for bookkeeping purposes.

"Our next bachelor is Sunil. Sunil, please come forth. Again, bidding starts at five gold."

My, now this is becoming more of an auction. Isadora thought as she watched FD closed the bidding on Sain. The Dame Knight was planning to make a teasing bet on her comrade if no one dared to bid. However, she was sadly mistaken when two bidders had a bidding war between them. And the gold they bid? Dearest her, there was no way she could compete with them after seeing how determine they were to win.

Placing up next was a blue feline laguz. If Isadora remembered her conversation with Leon, that Sunil was part of the Watch members. The paladin thought for a moment of whether she should bid or not. Although the Dame Knight had battled alongside with the laguz, never had she battled against them. It would be a good experience for her to spar in case she ever encounter a laguz enemy.

"One hundred gold." Isadora commented loudly as she raised her hand. Surely no one would bid against the Dame Knight.... Right?

A bachelor auction was probably not the first place one would expect to find a little green-haired dragon girl especially after such a long hiatus, but Tiki was there all the same, trying to see all the commotion through the crowd. Most of the patrons were taller than she was, so she had to maneuver through the crowd at a steady pace. There were rumors of an otherworldly blue haired swordsman who would be making his presence known at the event. Though Tiki was swiftly learning that otherworldly blue haired swordsmen were actually quite common, she thought it wouldn't hurt to check, even if it had ended up being that one Elibian swordsman.
Good that Ziaram had been bid on, she thought. She wouldn't have wanted her friend to spend his day alone, and had she arrived earlier she would have bid on him herself. She was glad that a bidding war broke out and he got so much attention, though. Tiki wouldn't have been able to ever give as much money as those bidders did.
She did have a bit of money, though. Using that money towards spending some more time with familiar faces seemed like a good use. As long as she still had enough for some food later, anyway.

The bachelor that had just stepped up to the stage seemed somewhat familiar. Tiki couldn't exactly put her finger on why, but she knew that she had met him somewhere before. She thought she would have remembered a man with blue cat ears a little better, but she was learning that they weren't as unusual here as they were in Akaneia. Only somewhat less unusual.
Before she could shout out her bid, she was beaten to it by the Dame Knight. Someone else who she knew a little from one incident with the haircut... Did that even happen?. Maybe after the bidding was done, and before her date with the kittyman, they would talk.

"Two hundred go- oh!"
She manuvered closer to the stage before calling out her bid again so that her face could be seen by her fire dragon friend.
"Two hundred gold!"

Isadora blinked when she heard someone made a bid against her. The Dame Knight looked around to see who made the bid against her.

She was unable to see who the bidder was due to the crowd. However, the voice sounded oddly familiar. Had she met this person before? Perhaps if she moved around, she may be able to see who the bidder was she against.

"Two fifty!" Isadora shouted as she rose from her seat and looked around. If her bidder made another bid, she would be able to see who she was.

Good, so she had been heard and hopefully seen. Tiki jumped in place as she quickly shouted out her next bid. This was how they did it for the previous men, so she assumed she was doing it right...

"Two eighty!"

She'd find out soon, she guessed...

There was that bidder again. But flux her timing, she was unable to find the bidder. Either the bidder was small like Blossom or there were too many people drooling over the shirtless men. Isadora needed to have a word with Fire Dragon about this.

"Two ninety!" The paladin shouted again as she moved around. Little did the Dame Knight know that she was moving closer to the bidder than she thought she would.

And another bid! Hopefully this other person wouldn't continue bidding for much longer. She sped foreward, partially to work off some of the building excitement, unaware that the blue-haired dame knight continued to move herself, and the two were almost next to each other.

"Three-Hundred!" She exclaimed.
PostPosted: Sat Feb 16, 2013 12:30 pm

"Three-Hundred!"

The bid was made and it was loud and clear for the paladin to hear. Too close to hear exactly.

Isadora looked at the person next to her who shouted. So this was the person who made a bid against her: a little green-haired girl... Though human girl was not exactly the correct word when she saw pointy ears sticking out. Never would she expect she was bidding against a child... Unless that child was much older than her like Nils.

Feeling kind of bad to go bidding against the bidder, Isadora sighed and gave out a small smile.

"Okay, you win. I forfeit my bidding." Isadora calmly smiled.

User ImageWhen Tibarn said he had a last second special assignment for the Gallian captain, she took it very seriously. His note's details were vague. Only giving a place, time, and small carefully worded description of what she had to do. It slightly annoyed the orange feline. However, her pride as a soldier made her accept the request from the Hawk King. She grabbed the bag of gold and tied tightly it to her belt. Quickly she put on her brown cloak and left her home.

Lethe rushed down the cobblestone streets sharply turning the corners until she finally reached the busy cafe. She practically slammed the door open upon entering the Hostess Club. Luckily she wasn't too late. The blue cat laguz still stood on stage. Lethe growled at the display. How dare they do this to him?! It was just like the laguz slave trades in Begnion. Unfortunately she was ordered not to make a scene or else there would be dire consequences. Best to not tick off the king of hawks.

Completely unaware of the current bid, Lethe shouted out a number. "Five hundred eighty gold!" She was determined to save Sunil from this humiliating display one way or the other.

"Oh..."

For a moment Tiki was pretty sure she had won. Five-hundred and eighty gold was a big jump in price, and Tiki wasn't sure she could match it. The dame knight had stopped bidding and relinquished the betting to her, and for that she was very grateful... But she couldn't go further. She heard this new bidder growl angrily, and she didn't want to get on her bad side. She couldn't help but feel a little disheartened.

She looked back at the dame knight. Then back to the stage. She'd been given an opportunity. She didn't want to just waste it.

"Five-hundred ninety gold!"

Did she even have five-hundred ninety gold?

Lethe untied the bag of gold from her hip and checked the contents. "Seven hundred gold," she shouted sending a glare in the direction of the small dragon girl.

Tiki looked at the ground. Lethe's glare was crushing enough to deflate her excitement.

There had to be better ways to meet new people.

Annis had gone off to the side for a bit in order to get something to eat for lunch, inadvertently missing a couple of the rounds of bidding. When she returned, she found Lethe and Tiki in the thick of a bidding war, unable to keep from grinning as Lethe ramped up the bid. She strolled over, swapping her two veggie wraps to one hand as she went, wings still folded tight to her back, to keep the crowd from somehow hitting them and injuring the delicate bones. People could be so rude sometimes, and... keeping her wings out in a large crowd made her nervous, anyway. She'd only been comfortable stretching them out earlier when the crowd was thinner and she was near the edge of it.

"Wow, taking a new friend away from a sweet girl like that? How low, buddy." Annis grinned and ruffled her hair through the fabric of her hood. "Have fun with him!"

She strolled over to Tiki after that, squatting down enough to get to Tiki's eye level. "Hey, kid. You want some help winning a bid on someone?" she asked, smiling wide. "I can help you with that." She held out one of the wraps to the green-haired girl. "Want one?"

User ImageIf dirty looks could kill, Annis would have burst into flames at that very moment.

"That "child" is probably old enough to be your mother," Lethe coldly stated to the raven laguz. Tiki's dragon heritage was very apparent to Lethe's strong senses. "If you must treat her like a baby, don't encourage her to buy others' attention. That will only spoiler her."

No doubt the thief would question Lethe's own motives for bidding. Since she too worked under Tibarn perhaps she would understand. If the need raised, Lethe would show Annis the orders.

The feline soldier didn't enjoy looking like a bad guy, but she did what she must because she cared for her kin.

"I raise my bid to one thousand," Lethe shouted to FD. It was clear as day that the stubborn cat wasn't going to back down until she had won.
