"I will be sure to let you know if we need any help with anything." She gave another smile before she laughed once more. "Yes well he's always been like that.. His mind was always more active on his little ideas than much of anything else.. It's baffling not knowing where it comes from in the family."Cad gave a bit of a sheepish look. "Well you two seemed to be getting on along very well so I didn't want to interrupt.. Then I started thinking on how I could help..." His eyes flicked to look at Fetcher who he couldn't see but he could hear the little creature making his home once more in his rose. "Really?? Is he like some sort of magic voodoo trance to them?" He wanted to know just how fetcher could keep him safe from being bitten by her plants.

Amaltheia set out in a burst of laughter. The only other time she could remember laughing like that was with her sisters, when they were younger. It died out in to a small hiccup pattern of chuckles whilst she shook her head. "No voodoo magic. You wouldn't think it but he is actually like the ring leader. He is controllable too so that makes it easier for me." She gave a light shrug, it hardly helped in most ways because Fetcher wouldn't tell them what to do but with him listening to her it made things a little easier at least. One less plant to worry about.
"They wouldn't bite you because Fetchers kin, his scent is on you. If they tried, how would they know they weren't actually about to accidentally bite him too?" That's what she had observed over her time with them, she still wasn't sure how it all really worked with them but she knew they wouldn't go for anyone who Fetcher was near from past experiences.
Unless they knew he was being threatened, then that was a whole different kettle of fish. She looked to Bri and nodded. "Perhaps a very distant relation had the same love for creating things? It's a useful skill to have, I can see it being very handy in times of need or crisis." She had never thought about where her own drive comes from in her sense of duty. Her mother and father were always keen on protecting the herd and doing what was best so she assumed she got the majority of her traits from them, the rest of her family line she had no idea about.

"That makes sense." He had to admit to some extent he found it easier to understand when explained like that. Stepping forward, started to get a better look wondering just how good a look he could get with Fetcher on his rose like this. "Here's hoping he doesn't fly off once I start to investigate things"She smiled once again. "That's about the only thing we can thing of. My mother's family sadly is not within these lines so we really have no way of knowing from her... and my mate's line have always been knights if you ask his grandfather." There had to be a reason though, she knew it. No one was just that smart.... were they?

That was a good point to make... She looked at Fetcher who was peering curiously around the side of Cad's head and suddenly she wasn't so sure, regardless of how attached to that pin he was, would he give it up to fly to her when he drew near? She gave a smile, a little nervous one at that but tried to be reassuring. "I'm sure it will be fine... He has been clinging on to you longer and I doubt he would want to lose another perch he just claimed." She gave a light laugh.
"Cad was telling me about the knights. It's an interesting take that they focus on a certain speciality. It always helps to have extra bodies able just in case." She smiled, knowing that would of helped with their rival pack of SW problem they were having but her father was strong and always seemed brave enough to handle things accordingly when the time came. "I have no knowledge of my parents family either. They never spoke of them, only told us stories of our ancestors rather than specifics. It isn't all bad at least we get to ponder like this over the air of mystery it brings."

He chuckled and gave a small smirk. "Hear that Fetcher?? I think I might have your weakness... You let me get bitten and never will you sit on my rose again ok? If you don't let them get me then well... you're free to rest there ant time you like. We have a deal little one?" It seemed silly that he was trying to make a bargain with Fetcher, but then he was going to be poking about those snappy plants and if having this little critter on him would keep anything nasty from happening, he was willing to make a bargain with him. She gave a small nod. "I'm sure it does... It would have been nice to have had more than Meykal here when that kalona had attacked..." She shook her head. "There are many things in this world who would mean the doom of us.. and not because we've wronged then but because they're just horrible and nasty to the core." She smiled at Ama told a little of her parents. "It's nice the even have something little to think about your ancestors even if it's vague and leaves mystery hanging about... I'm wagering there was some blue to the family's line.... My brother is blue as blue can be." She chuckled.

Fetcher gave a hum of a growl before making what sounded like a yappy barking noise, rocking his body side to side he rubbed against the rose. It was made apparent he wasn't going to risk losing his place on Cad's hair pin just so that his family could munch down on the stallion.
Ama smiled as she watched the display, his squeaky bark amusing her greatly. "I think that might just be a yes on your behalf." She laughed lightly, shaking her head some. Now she was more sure he would be fine than she was a moment ago. Fetcher was the more placid one of the group of them and the most obedient, there wasn't really any reason not to put your faith in him... The majority of the time. She made her way closer, making sure not to obstruct view of his mother and not to get too close as to scare her rabbit familiar off or make Cad feel uncomfortable.
"You were attacked by a kalona?" Her jaw fell agape. "That must of been awful! What happened, did everyone come out of it alright?" She asked with concern in her voice. She knew how bad ambushes could be and how frightening it was to face something so menacing that towered you like the blanket within the dark of night. "That is very true, no good can come of their existence." Other than the natural food chain but needless pain and suffering was certainly not part of it.
"Do your parents not share an ounce of blue between their coats?" She imagined them to be very beautiful, her parents, considering she and Cad were very graceful and elegant looking. lysia_nyteblade I won't be able to get on aim until Sunday but I'll be coming on to tag when I can until then. I also wanted to mention I ended up changing Sho's brothers colours, I think they fit the theme of elegance in the family better than my quick bold, stand-offish first idea haha. I will show you to see what you think of the changes Sunday when I get back home. ^.^

Cad gave a low rumbling chuckle once more. "It would seem so." He said before finally closing the gap and investigating the plants on Ama's neck. His ears were perked with interest as he viewed them up close before finally nudging one with his nose lightly to see just how stuck on they were. Bri gave a small frown. "I was.. It happened when I was a young mare.. I had just gone my right of adult hood when I was walking along side my mother making the usual boarder checks. He came from almost no where and attacked us." She had a distant sort of look to her eyes as though she were right there again in that moment. "He tried to make off with me.. the wicked thing that he was.. he fought my mother and tore a chunk from my shoulder. Meykal managed to be making his own checks I suppose and happened upon us.. "

The triffids could sense Cad's presence as he neared them. Nobody had ever dared come as close to them as he had. With Fetcher on him their intentions were not to bite him but that didn't mean they couldn't taste the subject. The nudge gave Flipswitch the open opportunity to awaken and that was all he needed. Silentkiller gave a hum of a growl that he was prodding around it's mane companion however it silenced when it felt the movement of the other. Flipswitch swayed slower to the side where Cad had nudged him and opened his mouth just a touch before slapping it over Cad's maw. It didn't clamp down, or bite him instead he was suckling it, much like one would do with a mint. It made a gargling noise of satisfaction, granted it was more like the stallion was being used like a child's dummy than anything else.
Amaltheia gave a slow, apologetic shake of her head to Bri. Seeing how she seemed to grow distant showed Ama that it was a vital memory, the past forever engraved in the mind. It did answer the question as to why she had that scar and to respect the fact that the memory must of been a painful one, she chose not to pry for further details. "It's a good job Meykal came to the rescue, who knows what that wicked creature would of done with you..." She gave a sigh. They had to live with the evil spirits in this world but thankfully they had good Samaritans to help weigh out the horrors they could bring.
Orbs slipping to their corners at the movement on her head she tried to spy Cad and her triffids, wondering what they were up to and what was going on. She dared not move her head and let her eyes of anticipation slide back to Bri at the sounds causing her ears to twitch.

It was all going well, his investigation.. that was up until Flipswitch latched onto his maw like it was Idonea's crazy racoon's pacifier item. Giving a startled snort, he hopped back, tearing his nose from the plant and shaking his head. His eyes were wide and he was staring a little slack jawed at his own nose before finally his eyes drew back to the triffid. "Well.. I guess that was better than being devoured..." He gave a small chuckle but his own shock didn't stall him for long. Soon he was back at Ama's side, nosing around the triffids, poking them and seeing their reactions. She gave a nod in response to Ama. "It was a really good thing.." As painful as the memory was, she didn't fear for herself much any longer. She had Rakshi to help keep her safe from harm these days. When the triffid latched hold of her son's nose, her eyes widened in alarm. Her heart leaped in that way all mother's hearts do when they see a potentially dangerous situation for their child. Cad's reaction however was enough to reassure her of his safety though she couldn't help how when he returned to his work she continued to nervously switch her attention back to him and the triffids.

Amaltheia gave a nod to Bri at her words, falling in to a small state of shock herself when she felt her head forced to one side. The movement of the triffid had her gasping and her heart racing. Did he just bite Cad? She didn't dare move her head in case it made the situation worse, no matter how hard she tried to look to the corners of her eyes to see the commotion, her vision wouldn't allow it without turning her body. Her eyes then searched for Cad's mother who's expression didn't reassure her. She froze, horror settling in when...
She heard Cad's chuckle after her head was tugged back a final time. She let out a relieved sigh, her tensed muscles relaxing. "You scared me half to death... I thought they had bitten you." She whispered as the calm swept through her veins. Her body feeling almost wobbly on her own hooves. The state of shock must of released a quick shot of adrenaline to have rendered her so weak. She was happy to stand still enough to allow him to poke around her plants once more, now she was sure it wasn't an attack.
"Thank the spirits you're safe." She gave a weak smile, her eyes directing to the ground beneath them.
Flipswitch made a coo sound, finding affection for the tasty creature that kept nosing about between him and his mane mate. Silentkiller became more interested now that the other had been approved of and swayed wherever the stallion's head moved to, like it was creepily eyeing him up but still yet to make sound. Fetcher was making some kind of 'yak, yak, yak' noise in Cad's ear, finding the whole thing amusing. Laughing at the sudden jump the stallion gave.

He gave a small chuckle. "I scared you?? I wasn't sure I'd get my nose back.. It just moved suddenly." He shook his head lightly casting a reassuring look to his mother. Lightly, he prodded Silentkiller with his nose, moving about his base as he tried to judge for himself just how he was fixed to Ama. His tail gave a small flick as he delved himself back in his work, his mind on the task and deep in thought as he committed all his findings to memory. She gave him a slightly perplexed look. If he was sure he wanted to continue routing around them, she really couldn't say anything to stop him... could she? The answer to that was simple. No. No, she couldn't stop him from doing anything dangerous no matter how she tried. He'd proved that to her and her mate a long time ago."Just... Be careful... please Cad?" It was all she could say to remind him that she would always worry over him no matter how old he was or big he'd gotten.

Ama let out a melodic laughter, nodding at his comment.
"Yes. Yes you did!"
She gave a sigh, casting a sympathetic look at his worried mother.
That solved the theory, at least. Fetcher was the key to safety but it wasn't much good. That would only work for one at a time. Then again when would there be more, coming as close to her as Cad had dared venture.
One of these days those triffids were going to kill her from a panic attack or something. She fumbled a lopsided frown.
It was strange, having someone examining her up close and personal. It wasn't something she was used to and his movement caused the leaves of her mane to tickle at her skin.
She tried to hold in more laughter, settling for moving one front leg off the ground at a time and then back down again in a shuffle of distraction.
Finally, when the feeling became too overwhelming she set off in giggles. "That tickles!" Her tone was so high pitched, it even surprised her.

Cad finally stepped back as she broke into giggles. "I didn't mean to tickle you.. Though I think I've gotten a little better understanding about them.. And a slight goo covered nose as it was being suckled by the one.." He looked to his mother giving her another smile. "You shouldn't make that face, mother.. it might stick.. and then what will father think?? he'll wonder why you look so distressed all the time." He gave his mother a smile that wasn't unlike any his father had even given while being cheeky. She frowned further though she was happy to see him unharmed. "It won't stick.." She soon gave him another soft gentle smile. "Hopefully your prodding hasn't upset her little companions too much.. I'd hate to think that your curiosity might have caused more issues for the dear girl." She stifled a small yawn and looked to the sky some. The day was passing more swiftly than she'd thought.

Ama shook herself off with a smile still left over from the giggles. She looked to Cad, ears twitching.
Her triffids were wriggling, now energetic after being disturbed.
"You have..?" She blinked a couple of times in disbelief.
"From just... Poking around them?"
"Huh..." If only she could do the same to get the same understanding of them.
"What have you discovered?" She asked, curiously, looking at his saliva covered nose. Making an apologetic face. Ears folded back.
She turned her gaze between him and his mother as they exchanged playful banter then gave a shake of her head.
"Thank you for the concern." She smiled at Bri. "They should be fine. If they could grow legs and make off, then that would be a different situation entirely."
She made a face at the thought. How troublesome, she was glad that they couldn't do that... As far as she was aware, they couldn't. Only fetcher could, having wings of a butterfly but he very rarely flew too far out of sight.
"I must apologize for disturbing your sleep earlier. I hope we haven't put you out of your way too much." She gave a small bow of her head, having watched the mare yawn.

He nodded his head with a small smile. "I have.. At first I wondered if they were something like a parasite.. but.. after looking and seeing how they react with you and are I assure you most firmly attached to you.. I have come to understand that they aren't harmful to you or your health.. and won't as you say grow legs and run off. Any further knowledge for plants would be beyond me I'm afraid.. We'll have to see about putting something together to keep them from harming you. And I'm confident that I could make a plan for such a thing. Dimensions and angles along with material will all be the key.. not to mention a little bunny friend to help with the smaller things...If you wouldn't mind staying a little longer, as the night is growing upon us and hard to work by, I'm sure we could start tomorrow on a way to keep them from being such a threat to some one else's nose." He eyes his mother as he said it. Ofter she'd let him 'borrow' her familiar for some of his work, glad to have the shy little rabbit out doing something for a change. "Don't worry about it dear." She gave a small smile. "It was only a nap any ways, and if I sleep too long during the day, I'll bu up all night and then My mate will have to keep me company while he's groggy and wants to sleep." She chuckled lightly and looked to her son. "I am afraid though.. that I must be off to see Your grandmother, Cad... So Here is where I will have to part ways with you.. Never have I seen something so unique in my time.. But I'm sure you two kids can find some way to over come this obstacle for her." She nodded her head lightly before turning. She flashed her son a look that said for him to be careful before starting on her way.
