He looked back at her. "I don't. I just wanted to know. I was making conversation and heard gossip. I wanted to hear the truth from you since it's usually more reliable." He reached over, taking the box and throwing the scissors and unused paper in with the hearts.
"So how did it even end anyways for you two to still hang around each other like you do?" He asked, not expecting an answering but going for broke at this point.

It clearly does or you wouldn't keep digging your little hole." Rin tucked her hand under her stump in a mock effort of crossing her arms.

He set the box down just after lifting it and looked at her. "Because when I'm constantly called to check in on you and Rep, I start to think that I'm here to help you take care of someone you still want to hook up with despite the fact he's already with two other hunters. I get suspicious when I might be unknowingly pulled in the middle of some little love game that didn't quiet finish from whatever time ago it was when you two were messing around. When I'm around two people who I spend time with and no one bothers to mention you two ******** around and I have to find out from other people. Like how I was called in to make Rep shower because you wanted to take care of him and decided to have me as some guy to keep him in line for you. Why the hell couldn't you have just done that yourself? You just didn't want to be the bad guy and keep him liking you?"
His hands were gripping the side of the table as he watched her.

I would have done the same if for some magical reason it was you not taking care of yourself and refusing to listen to me when I tell you you look like s**t and need to do something about it. You simply have better argument skills than me when it comes to hygiene." Rin set her jaw in effort to push down how hurt she felt right now, "Was it really such a horrible chore helping me convince him to bathe?"

"No. I just wanted to make sure it was just a friends think and not something else." He picked up the box, moving to put it in a cabinet where he shut it and just left it there. He couldn't concentrate now on stupid hearts. In fact, he didn't even feel like doing the damn party anymore.
"Also, as a friend, you should stop treating him like a damn baby and more a grown ******** man." It was just stupid that he had to be called in to get Rep to do anything because no one could b***h enough at him to make the hunter just do anything.

I don't even like... it was just a small crush. It's over now. She didn't used to treat me like a five year old but she sure as hell does now..."

He took a breath. "You told me you liked Sasha, remember?" He said, and looked back at her as he went back to the table to put the pens he was using with the other pens on the counter. "I'm not mad! You got all pissed off and started yelling at me."

"Liked. Past tense. Not in a while." Rin rolled her eyes at him, "Why do you think, Melvin? You accused me of being a loser and then decided that asking you for help. Any help. Is now a bad thing and accused me of... I don't even ******** know. I only ever asked you for help with him then. You act like I ******** dress and bathe him every morning." She shot him a dirty look, "I feel like you are just looking to create conflict and I don't understand why. I thought you were my friend."

"I am your friend. I just wanted to be sure I wasn't being used to get back with Rep or something like that. How am I supposed to know what you even are with him if I find out you two were together from other people. I had to ask. MOST people don't still stick around their exs like the way you two do unless you two are still somehow together. That you just didn't want to be a bad guy in his eyes so you sent me in instead to get him to do things you want him to do. I'm not saying doing things for other people isn't bad. I'm all for people actually expressing any sort of teamwork here because -" He threw up his hands. "- not like I ever see it off the field."

"Here's the trick; we were never a 'thing'. It was just sex and used to ground us. We were both new to this place and kind of scared. It was just nice knowing someone had my back. There's no getting 'back' with him, he was never my boyfriend." Rin frowned irritably at Melvin throwing his lil fit, "Look. I don't get whats so hard to understand here. It wasn't your business. Are you saying I should have told you? If so; WHY?"

He breathed out, already feeling far too worked up to function. He was passing the threshold to control to someplace else and he didn't want to go there. Maybe he already had passed it.
He hadn't know about them. He didn't like not knowing that and them not telling them. That he never thought to ask.
Trust no one.
If he was killed, would the two of them even care after a day.

He shot a glare back at her. "I don't have a crush on Rep. He's with 2 dudes. That's just -" He was disgusted that she would even think that.
"We're done talking about all of this. I don't care anymore. Whatever it is you had or have or whatever it is with Rep, whatever you might have had with anyone else I talk to on a everyday basis, I don't care. I'm done thinking about it."

"Now you're the one making assumptions." He said, his voice spoken in a very controlled manner as he grabbed a binder off a shelf he was just taking to keep himself from throwing something.
"Unlike some people, I don't need to ******** around to feel people have my back but maybe I should so I'd at least know." He tossed the binder down and opened it, taking a seat and flipping through the pages and trying to find a page to occupy his mind with other than Rin. He couldn't even look at her right now.
