"You're joiking" I said, not believing what the imp and Ayako. How can I? I mean, Ayako's hair just glowed and they don't seem to be the least bothered by it! But I was blown away once again when I reached the ledge, staring at the floating stones with wide eyes. "Th-this is amazing! How can these stones float?" I reached out as one stone floats nearby but when my fingers made slight contact with it, it floats away slowly.
I kept staring at the stones in awe until one figure hiding behind one large floating rock caught my eye. I moved cautiously towards Ayako while keeping an eye on the figure. "Ayako, do not make a sound" I whispered softly in her ear.

((tried to get a pic reference, but i couldn't find one. if you ever watch or play Tales of Graces f, the ruins are like the Amarcian ruins found around the game world)) The imp ignored Yakuma. "Heeeeey, pretty lady!" he said. "Why don't'cha come talk with us?"
Ayako rolled her eyes. When Yaki got like this, she listened. The imp was another matter.

I grabbed the imp and put my hands over his mouth, making my torchlight fell on the floor. The sound when it fell onto the ground echoes throughout the ruins. "Crap..." I said softly. I looked up at the large rock but the apparition is not there anymore. "Where did she go?" I wondered.
From all the experience that I had with apparitions, it had taught me to be careful with them. Most of them are defensive against some changes they don't like and they can hurt those who caused the changes. Not physically, no. But they can hurt you with their angry feelings. Their anger can be felt so bad that they could give migraines, sleepless nights, sudden mood swings and eventually possession of the body. Some spirits that I've encountered however, doesn't mean any harm but they still can suck the energy that the living has. That's why humans and apparitions should never interact. That's why I'm here, to help them make peace with themselves and the humans. I'm the only one that can interact with them without getting possessed. I couldn't find the reason but I believe it's because of my red eye.
I ushered quietly to Ayako to come close to me, knowing that the apparition wouldn't hurt me. I think.

((one's a town and the other's Fodran. mind if i play the ghost?)) The imp pulled out of Yakuma's grasp and flew after the torch. "I got it!"
Ayako let Yaki pull her close. He always did that to her when it came to ghosts and stuff.
The imp picked up the torch and was picked up by the apparition. "Yi!"
"Little imp, little imp, bring your friends down?" she asked.

I froze when the apparition picked up the idiot imp. "As if we would go there" I dare not say because like humans, you don't know which apparitions is friendly--or dangerous. Either one, they're still bad news to us. But, I couldn't get anything resolved if I just kept quiet like this. I gripped Ayako's hand and talked in a loud voice to the ghostly being.
"Um...excuse me...um...miss? Could you please give the little imp back to its master?" I shouted out politely. I gripped Ayako's hand harder, stiff with fear. Even if ghosts cannot harm me for whatever unknown reasons, I am still terrified of them. They could still follow me home or hurt any of the people that I cared about to get to me. This is what scares me the most; them hurting the people I love.

((lol. ghost)) The ghost flew up to the other two. "This thing is a fail at being evil. C'mon." She grabbed Yakuma by the hair, an odd feeling, but not painful, and pulled him down. It was already clear to her that he had a death grip on the girl. "So, you two know why I went Above to summon you?"
"Summoned?"
"Got any food?"
"Shut up." the ghost flicked the imp and sent him flying.

The ghost grabbed my hair but I didn't move due to my strong grip on Ayako. But what the blindfolded ghost didn't make sense. "Wait...you summon...us? Are you trying to say when you appeared at the cliff and us seeing you wasn't a coincidence?" I tried to comprehend what the ghost said to me but why would she do that?
The gears in my mind worked furiously to solve this puzzle but at last, I decided to ask the ghost instead. "Why would you do that? Why would you want to 'summon' us?"

oh, don't feel bad about inserting romance (like Yaki likes Ko-chan), this can have randomness in it owo))
"Yes. I've been to your village before, back when you both were young. I knew what you were going to be. At first, I wanted to meet you to talk to you, but now...I need your help."
"Help? Who cares? I'm hungry!"
"Shut up." the imp was sent flying again.
"You're as good as me at sending Kii-cha flying."
"Better. I'm blind." She turned to Yakuma. "This happened after I had been a ghost for centuries." She pointed to her blindfold. "I managed to hide the knife that did this, but someone else came down here and stole it. Another ghost, one bent on wreaking havoc. It can kill humans with a nick of the blade, and I know that he's going to use it on humans, to make them ghosts as well, blind them, and make them his slaves. We need to find him and take it back, before he can cause any damage."
Ayako stared at the ghost, stunned.
"I have reason to believe that he's going after your home first. That's why you two were summoned."

I thought about it for a moment and what the ghost just said did get through my head but I'm still in doubt of something. "Why would you help us? What will you gain from this?" I said loud and clear. The ghost seems honest enough to tell the truth why she was blindfolded and about the other ghost that is going to make us his ghost slaves. But even after concluding that she's already honest about this, I still need to be cautious.
"Also, tell us why do you think that the other ghost is going after our home first. There must be a reason..." I want to know the full story first before I go after this dangerous ghost with a blade that is going to turn us into ghosts. It might be helpful--no, it will help me resolve this ghost's anger or whatever the hell he's dealing with.

"It's her father, and he blames the village for her not following in his footsteps. As for your first question, I'll no longer have to deal with him, and once he's gone and the blade's back in its proper place, I'll be able to see. Being dead, I sorta can still, but it's distorted. You're right there, and there, and there." The ghost had pointed to three different places.

Even if I hate Ayako's father for trying to make her do evil things against her will, I still feel a little mad at the ghost for pointing at her. "It's not her damn fault! It's a good thing that she didn't follow his footsteps! I shouted. I don't know why I'm really mad actually but I hate it whenever someone accused Ayako something even if it's indirectly.
Why?
She's like...my sister. So I'll be the one to protect her
But, do you really think that?
...I...I don't know...
I realized that I was dreaming when I remembered that I was standing next to Ayako. At first, I didn't remember why I was standing on the ledge but the memories came in like a flood and that hurts my head. I touched my forehead with my free hand when the pain became quite unbearable. I clenched my teeth to avoid the groan that shows my pain coming out.

Ayako whipped around and whacked him across the face with her toy. "Please. I'm bad enough as it is." she retorted
"Feed me!"
"Shut up!
Ayako turned to see the ghost and imp in a yes-no fight and giggled.

The pain left immediately when Ayako slapped me with her toy but of course, the pain when Ayako slapped me is of course, inevitable. "Ouch" I was about to scold her for slapping me with her toy but looking at her giggle made me stop. I felt a tug at my chest as if my heart is trying to escape from its prison of my ribs. Wow, I didn't even know that I'm so poetic I thought sarcastically.
Whatever it is, I relaxed a bit at the sight of Ayako's carefree and giggling self. I have to protect it. I turned my head to look at the ghost who is still fighting with the little imp. I shouted to get her attention. "So, ghost lady? Tell us how to get out of here so we can beat this guy"

((it comes and goes)) "He's still in here. Thataway" She pointed in three directions. "Um. I think it'll be better if I just showed you." She flew off in a forth direction."I'm still gonna get fed!" the imp shouted, chasing after her.""Kii-cha!" Ayako ran after the imp, grumbling.

I groaned. Another run and chase? I'm surprised that I could still keep up with it every time. I ran after Ayako who ran after the imp chasing the ghost. I laughed at the quite endless cycle of running and chasing whenever one of us ran off to who knows where. "But there's a big problem we have to face..." I thought as I remembered what the ghost said about that other ghost.
"I need Ayako's father to forgive the village so he won't kill all of us. But how am I going to convince him?" the gears in my mind does the turning and the whirring again whenever I'm thinking of a solution. Usually, it will take a little time to solve the problem but I still hadn't come up with a proper solution. I kept running while kept thinking of solutions and dismissing them in my head.
