The blush didn't escape Abby's notice. Her eyes twinkled a bit with consideration as she put another large spoonful of peanut butter in her cup. A bit too much this time, as it made a large mound sticking out of the top. She got distracted for a moment, swirling her spoon around it to shape some dips, peaks, and tracks in Mt. PB. This stuff was like the sticky tack of the food world! Wouldn't it be so much fun to make a bigger mountain, and stick stuff to it for decoration?

Mentally resolving to buy more peanut butter and some fun-looking foods at a later date, Abby decided that it was for the good of the world to sacrifice the mini Mt. PB and cast it into the land of cookies. She flattened her mountain until the peanut butter was starting to roll over the edges of the measuring cup, then scrapped the excess off as neatly as she could.

A couple cups of peanut butter, chopped bananas, and flurry of messy ingredients later, Abby found herself bouncing in place as she watched the oven. Royce warned her not to open it up and peek inside, otherwise it would lose heat and the cookies would take longer to bake, but it was still so tempting!

There wasn't much mess to clean up either. She'd been just a tad overenthusiastic with the flour, but aside from that the kitchen was in just as good a shape now as it was when they started their venture. Abby was a bit proud of herself; with her trial-and-error style, baking was usually only a fun mess at best for her.

She threw Royce a pitiful look. "I don't know how you people manage to wait for these things to get done. I mean I have the patience of a cricket playing tennis, but still!" She bounced a bit more in place. "What'da we do while we wait?"

lol Nah, I think we can time skip that part.

The rest of the mixing had gone relatively easy in Royce's mind. There had been an incident with the flour, but nothing he hadn't expected from Abby. It was easy enough to take care of, anyway. And once the ingredients were completely blended Royce had quickly slide plops of the dough into the oven.

His task was now washing up the dishes he could while keeping an eye on the timer. He had warned Abby about the oven but the girl still practically kept her face pressed against the oven window. Royce chuckled as he heard her practically whine. He turned to face her with an encouraging smile.

"I know, it's difficult to wait especially when they already smell delicious," Royce admitted and then sniffed the air, closing his eyes to enjoy the tempting aroma. "Hmm~ We could play a game?" He shrugged before drying off and heading over to join her. "Something short winded?"

Abby was reluctant to take her nose away from the glass viewing window of the oven. It was like the best show on earth! You got to see that lumpy, doughy, kinda-good-on-its-own-but-still-not-as-good-as-baked-good blob of stuff, and watch it transform into amazing deliciousness! If she could have sat in the oven to watch she would have, but she wasn't fire-proof and she rather liked being uncooked. It made her feel a bit bad that Royce had to do all the cleaning, but he didn't complain and she had the feeling she might have been mostly in the way hanging over the sink with him.

"A game would be nice," she agreed, finally tearing her eyes away from the slightly puffy blobs of dough. "Do you have any on hand? Or we could always make up our own game. Guessing games are pretty versatile and can be modified in a ton of different ways! Or I-Spy. Or riddles!" Her short tail wagged enthusiastically. "Those can be short or long games, just depends on when you wanna stop. I can think of some others, but they're longer and some are more physical or need more people."

Abby's eagerness to play a game made Royce smile. He shook his head slightly at her initial question. "Sorry but I don't really have much in the way of board games. I might have a card deck, though." Royce seemed to debate their options for a moment. "I think iSpy or riddles would probably be better. It would keep our focus away from the cookies as well."

Royce stared about the room, eyes jumping from object to object. There was a clock, a few of the ingrediant countainers still on the counter, the tiles on the floor and backsplash, and beside the sink were a bunch of drying dishes. Finally he turned back to Abby, his eyes alight with laughter. "I spy with my little eye, something white." He did his best not to stare at the object, but his eyes drifted toward the counter.

"Oh!" Royce stated suddenly, his stare back at Abby. "I kind of make this hard to play, so try to ask specific 'is it this?' questions, instead of generic so I don't have to spill... Okay?" Royce blushed, a bit annoyed that even a game was made difficult by this curse. "Sorry," he muttered under his breath.

We could probably do it so in either your post or my next one the first batch is done and then "leave" it at that? Have them ooh and aww and enjoy them ("wait" to cool or not) and then end the RP with the idea that the baking continued without hiccups. Sound good to you?

Abby nodded. "Right!" She began to look around the apartment, her face a study of intense concentration. I-Spy wasn't a win or lose game, not really, but she would be so embarrassed if she wasn't able to at least get really close to guessing the item! She was concentrating so hard that her tongue began to poke out of the side of her mouth. White.... White. Interesting color. Not even a color, the complete absence of all color. Probably why colors stood out against it so much. But how come some objects could be brightly colored and white at the same time? Like mushrooms. Curious things, mushrooms. Wait, crap, no! Game, yes, game! She renewed her focus on finding everything white in the entire room. That done, she tried to figure which item it might have been that Royce had seen.

She set her sights on the dishes. Lots of white there. But how to phrase the question so that Royce didn't give away the answer. She bite her bottom lip and chewed on it gently while she played with wording in her head. There were several other white objects in the apartment. She didn't want to out and say "dishes", since the process of guessing was fun, but the only questions she could think of might be word traps that Royce's curse would force him to go through. Darn!

"Is it a dish," Abby asked, deciding to save any other guessing questions for after that particular answer.

That works for me. So we have the game end when the cookies are done, they eat cookies (Abby will wait less than 20 seconds no matter how Royce cautions her about burned tongues XD), and we have a fade out about how good they are and they should do something that fun again soon?
