Enlil winced as Takoda moved to feel his forehead. Did he really look that horrible? He felt it at least.

As Takoda rooted through his cupboards he tried to sit up from the bed. It was painful and he was a little shaky, but he managed.

"I was hoping... to be... in a condition to help... when you returned, but I don't think I'll be able to. The glowing fungi... and the yellow powder from the other must be... crushed and mixed together with a mortar." Breathing was becoming more painful, but Enlil had to finish the instructions to Takoda. "Then mix together... with the dirt you collected. This should create a very thick paste."

Enlil lifted his hand with the vial in it. "After it's mixed... and only after... combine with the residue in this vial... It will bubble... After it stops... burn the remains..." The last part came out as a mere whisper. Enlil was weak from fever and resigned to watching Takoda as he worked with the ingredients he had brought back.

Takoda turned sharply when he heard the tone of Enlil's voice about to chastise the man for sitting up in his condition but instead moving over quickly to help him lay back down. Taking the vial carefully in hand he looked at it, wondering briefly of its contents but not questioning him. Gathering his things he moved to sit on the floor the mortar placed between his feet so he could keep it still he went about with the instructions he was given.

It wasn't hard to mix the two fungi together, although he had been surprised to find that together they became rather sticky once he managed to ease the dirt into the mixture it did indeed become paste like, he mixed it carefully making sure that the paste was consistent all the way through before he lifted the vial back into his hand. The problem was burning the remains after, he should start up a fire before he combined the two right?

Moving to stand up he was careful to step around his things before placing the vial in a secure spot so it wouldn't roll off and break. The fire place hadn't seen some use in awhile, and while he went about stoking it he also gathered a damp cloth to then rest it on Enlil's forehead, sure his normal medicines weren't working but even if the damp cloth didn't bring the fever down it would probably help ease the burning sensation of it.

The fire had started although meek at best he fed it twigs and sticks until he felt that it was..strong enough to handle whatever it was that he was to burn.

Returning to his mortar he picked it up it didn't make much sense to try and put the thick paste into the vial so he would have to put the contents of the vial into the mortar. Looking over to Enlil he wanted to ask a hundred questions. What was in the vial was the primary one. But given he wasn't in the best condition it wasn't time to play twenty questions. Sighing he went to his table and placed the mortar down and then went about unsealing the vial.

Pouring the contents into the paste did get the reaction Enlil had described, it bubbled and boiled and he dared not get his hands too close. He was worried it may be corrosive and dealing with burns of that sort were tricky, trickier still if was your own hands you were trying to heal. Giving a quick glance back to Enlil he prayed to the moon goddess that this was would and almost as quickly as it had begun the bubbling had stopped.

What was left...he couldn't describe, it looked almost ash like but not. Gingerly he picked up the mortar and then went over to the fire. Part of him wanting to tip the contents into the fire, but he was too afraid that it would be caught in a draft and blown about the room. The mortar...would not likely survive being placed in a fire but he could be wrong. Grabbing tongs he carefully nestled the cup into the fire. Watching as the contents seemed to grow hot, glowing red as if trying to resist being burned away. Soon though the heat was too much and the crackle and pop of it burning away released a smoke.

Covering his mouth and nose he wasn't sure if it was suppose to do that and he hurried back over to lift the leaf door and open the windows before he went to Enlil a questioning look on his face as he sat beside the man.

"It is done..but ..how will we know it will work?"

Watching patiently as Takoda moved about the small home carrying out his instructions, Enlil was pleased to see that Takoda had enough intuition to get the unspoken directions that Enlil didn't have the strength to elaborate. Pouring the residue over the contents of the mortar and placing the mortar and its contents in the fire. Takoda would lose this mortar, but Enlil would make another himself if this worked out properly.

The smoke of the fire left through windows and door as Takoda opened them, but lingered long enough for Enlil to get a scent of it. The properties of the dirt near Aisha's roots made the smell sweet and as soon as the contents were completely burned the fire internalized itself and went out with a poof, a slight wave of air bursting from the hearth.

The wave of air pushed much needed air into Enlil's lungs and he could already feel the curse reversing itself. He was starting to heal and his fever was already down.

"It has worked..." Enlil said with a smile. He was still weak and would no doubt take a day or two to recover completely, but the counter-curse was fast acting. He could speak without pain already and as proof to Takoda he inhaled deeply, fulling his lungs with fresh air.

Takoda blinked his hand coming up to rest on the man's forehead again as if he couldn't believe his eyes. His fever was already coming down in fact his tone of voice didn't sound as forced. Looking back to the hearth he ...had to wonder how potent Aisha's soil was...or if perhaps it has been due to the stuff in the vial he had given him.

"Wh..at..was in the vial?" He inquired looking to and fro from the hearth to Enlil as if he was still having a hard time believing that the man was ..rapidly getting better. Though ..if his sickness was due to a curse than it meant this would lift it right? No reason why he wouldn't get 'magically' better.

Giving the man a slight smile he slipped to the floor and seemed to just sit there, exhausted his mind finally getting a chance to unwind. The past few days had been ...tough...now that the danger had passed though he could left his poor body rest. "Is..that it? I...have to admit...I am curious to the healing properties of the dirt now..."

Enlil chuckled at Takoda's surprise. "The vial only held the contents of the curse. It was the other ingredients that broke it." He smiled at Takoda's pondering of the magical properties of Aisha's soil. "You could always go back and ask for more." He didn't know what had happened on the island, but he could take a guess at the response of the Alkidike women there.

Enlil sat up from the bed once more. "Takoda, you've earned a rest. And thanks to you the rest of Tendaji has been unknowingly healed."

"you have earned your stay here in Tale, no one can mistake that now. I would like to offer you the title of monk, so that you may continue to help the people who need you."
