"Oh, the bracelet? It's a bomb set ta explode an' kill me should Ah do sommin' wrong." Ofelia looked at the bracelet as she reached into her bag and pulled out what looked to be some homemade cookies. Candy cane shaped, and colorfuly striped, likely leftovers from her adventure with Sherry. The way she spoke so nonchalantly about it was mildly distubring, seeing as it was a bomb and she shoved one of the cookies into her mouth. "S'why Ah startled the tech an' he kinda elbowed me. Guess people are scared Ah'll flip out an' set it off or sommin'." Talking with her mouth full wasn't much of Ofelia's forte so her words were a little mumbled. Still the cookie went down and she looked between the pair.
An eyebrow was raised, then the other, and slowly her hand snaked down and pulled up another cookie. "Yer kinda lucky ya missed the last mission thing - they had the ghost'a Julie there 'gain, an' some freaky elf things. Jake here nearly got dragged inta a pit, had ta pull 'em free." She totally forgot he got pulled in anyway, oops.
She also neglected to mention that a certain zombie dog-thing was there too, the one who'd given her such a lovely scar necklace.

When Ofelia first stated the bracelet's purpose and origin, Before just stared at her for a few seconds. He blinked. Then promptly burst into laughter, "AHAHAHAAAAA!!! G-good one, Dinah! For a minute there, you totes had me going!"
But then she went on to bring out cookies (which he automatically reached for) and added how a tech elbowed her out of fear of her flipping out?! Bzzuh!? "Whoa, wait, Dinah, that doesn't make sense. Tell her, Jake!" he was quick to drag the other guy into things, wasn't he? "If you do something wrong, the bomb goes off? And then that tech guy elbows you outta the blue?! Dude, that's... iunno, that's like baiting you to try and hit him." Teal eyes narrowed, a hard, sharp glint edging his gaze as he tried to process all this new information.
Before did not like what he was hearing. He did not like it at all. Ofelia mentioning the rest of the mission details and Julie's ghost did not help his mood much either. With a frown on his mouth (partially full of cookies that tasted awesome) he once again stared at Jake, "Pretend I'm smiling when I say good thing you didn't get Elf'd up, but ******** if what that tech did doesn't piss me off!" Yes, despite his mounting anger, Before still attempted at humor especially when the opportunity to make puns presented themselves.

The pun was entirely lost on Jake, as he only stared blankly at Before, before turning his attention back to Ofelia.
A... bomb? Why was she wearing a bomb? Did she do something wrong?
Was it... from the minipet incident?
It was but a faint memory at this point, but he remembered that it was he who screwed up, and yet, she took the blame. But... surely such a minor blunder didn't warrant such a harsh punishment.
It wasn't hard to tell that Chester treated the death lead with the same attitude as well... how Jake would normally treat others.
He chewed his lips for a bit, staring at the ground, before looking up at Ofelia again.
"It wasn't... because of me, was it?"
If it was, he'd never let himself live it down (or at least, not until the JOY wore off)

"It was an accident, Ah kinda startled him an' he jus' swung an elbow at me. No harm no foul, s'why Ah said sorry." Ofelia munched on another cookie and rubbed the spot on her cheek. The red was gone, her shield had absorbed it all, and now she just smooshed her skin around with her fingertips. "An' what? Oh, no Jake." Ofelia looked at him and raised an eyebrow, wondering just where he was getting that from. "Caelius didn't even bother followin' up wit' that so don't worry." She looked down at the bracelet and motioned it with her hand. "This is me steppin' up ta protect Wilson 'cause they were gonna kill him an'a bunch'a others, 'member?" She blinked at the younger teen and then turned back to Before. "All those people who stepped up ta save Ceres when she wasn't Ceres, ya remember that Clover? Basically Caelius said all those people were gonna die unless someone else was willin' ta go in their place....so Ah said Ah would."
She chewed and swallowed, looking around to see if she'd brought anything to drink. There were some bottles of water she'd managed to nab, milk would have been a good choice, but beggars couldn't be choosers. "So now Ah jus' gotta be careful an' listen an' eventually it'll get taken off?" Ofelia didn't sound too concerned. She was a model Sun after all, willing to take any and all orders and follow them without hesitation. "Ah'm also not the only one sportin' one, Gale is too...an' Clerise an' Ah think a few others? Kat an' Ryan got banished fer their actions but we brought 'em back, s'all kinds'a confusin'."

Before sighed, wiping crumbs from his face with the back of his hand, and with that same hand he gently cupped Ofelia's face. The pad of his thumb lightly brushed over the fading bruise, "Well, thank God for FEAR shields, this one would be a real bad shiner otherwise, huh?" he smiled wryly at the young woman then glanced over to Jake, "You didn't get one too?" he asked the other male. He had questions for Ofelia but they weren't anything he wanted to ask other than in private.

Chester's voice was laced with hatred, seething.
Jake only frowned.
Gale had one? And Clerise...
Oh, he met her not that long ago, and remembered seeing it, but didn't think too much about it. But for such a thing to happen...
He blinked when Before asked if he had one, and he only shook his head, raising his hands as if to prove it.
Was he... supposed to have one?
How come he could barely remember any of this?

The cookie Ofelia had been shoving into her mouth dropped clean out as Before reached over and touched the redhead's cheek. Instantly it was hard to tell that there had even been a red spot for as soon as his finger was against her skin her entire face lit up bright red. Sort of like a Christmas tree, but....a red one.
So a Christmas tree on fire.
"We should probably go from here 'cause techs an' not REALLY on duty an' uh - " Ofelia lifted her arm and sort of knocked Before's touch away as she moved to get to her feet. She wasn't even looking at them as she spoke and instead was staring off into the distance like the wall was something amazing. "Clover ya probably wanna see ye room an' shower an' - " At the mention of shower Ofelia's face got even redder for some reason and she looked like she wanted to die.
Ofelia was flustered. Ofelia never got flustered and she appeared to be debating running away and leaving the men alone to clean up the mess she made. Her entire idea of flight or flight harder really was weighing itself inside her head. "Jake...uh...yeah Jake ...Ah...stuff."
She couldn't even think of anything to say.
