Aymet's instincts kicked in as he fell. He was a fighter, his body knew what to do even before his mind had pieced together what was going on. A blaze of heat met him as he surged forward, heat and something familiar he couldn't quite identify. Plunging his claws into the ground, it was only at the last second he realized it was his broken arm --
The FEAR energy he funneled went wild and sent him flying backward - but with nothing to show for it but a blast of steam.

The good thing about being small meant she could get in close, perhaps even a bit around the smog, and still manage to land decent blows. It hurt when her skin got burned, there was no lie there, but at the very least she was striking the Furnace King (she heard him bellow it a few times) and protecting the others.
Wasn't that the whole reason she'd joined up on the mission anyway? Or...not really a mission, it was a job that turned out to be much much more than she or anyone expected. Part of her wanted to cry and run away, this was going to be more trouble than she wanted, but now she could do something for the school, right?
She wanted blood so badly.

The room was soon a large mass of steam, burning toys, and students attacking the King. Canon darted back in amongst them and tried attacking again. Despite the steam obscuring her vision, she managed to get a hit on the behemoth, but was forced back once more by the scalding heat.

AJ noticed that the stupid giant thing got more angry when it received more attacks from students around. Steam smokes were breathed out and visibility became much lower. The area around the giant was hot, enough to singe anything got closer. However, the boil who enjoys any fight won't be scared. Using the pile of toys as a platform, he jumped off of it and attack the the king creature. He gave it a neat spin kick and a loud tinkling metallic sound.

Aymet tried to pick himself up off the ground for one more attack, but found that it wasn't just his arm was broken. His legs were also pretty much rendered useless by the fiery energy. He managed to take one step before collapsing in a heap of bones that were each only partially connected to one another by barely-visible threads of energy.
He was... he was just going to lie here for a while. Yeah.

Well his first attempt was pretty successful - rarely used claws dinging off the hot furnace - and with a little boost of his battling confidence, he attempted to turn around and attack the King again, only to be somewhat side-swiped. The monster was closer than he expected, and it made the reflection worse, a soft burning sensation rolling up his leg when he sort of bounced back.

The misfit toy was a persistent little fellow. Thackery could give it that much. Its fluffy little mouth was chomping down so hard on his key necklace that he didn't even have to hold it anymore, letting it swing back and forth by its mouth like a misshapen fish. Occasionally, it disappeared into the foggy blanket of steam in front of him, only to come flying back to collide into his chest again.
He lunged to land another strike to the furnace royalty, and the toy smacked against him again, clinging on to him this time like a matted, rainbow sloth.
It was kind of cute, all things considered. He gave it a little pat on its head before returning to business. The king had to go.

There was a muffled grumble when the broken doll bopped him on the head and another when Ren told him not to get trampled. Like he would! He wasn't that helpless. Then again... There was a lot of movement and thrashing and---maybe he would be safer under the pile of stuffed toys.
With the little bit of energy he had left, the black dog managed to crawl into the pile and used the the plush toys as his personal shield.

The sound of the scythe hitting the furnace creature was an awful screech of metal upon metal. Sparrow danced backwards, the weapon clutched in his hands, and straightened a little, shadows curling around the blade.
"Good heavens, this is tiring," he said conversationally, his gaze sidling towards Aymet, on his left, and Jack who was somewhere on his right.

Or....maybe she'd just used up all her luck and would end up hurting only herself? Chuppi winced and cried out unhappily as she rolled away to nurse a rather bad burn that appeared on the side of her arm.
This was not good, even if she liked heat!

Sophie couldn't stand not doing anything. Once more, she jumped forward in an attempt to do something to the Furnace. But like before, the heat was too much and the ghoul missed and took damage herself. She let out a whimper and moved far from the Furnace. This wasn't going to end well for her if she kept this up..

She could definitely feel her energy draining, as well as her will to carry on. Hell no! She was not going to drop here! She was not going to lose bloody Christmas town and all their JOYful creatures! She made a promise to herself to beat them all to a pulp, and that was just what she was going to do! Even if she had to beat this guy up first!

"Ugh."
Another flaming fist arced toward him through the thickening steam, but this one left behind more than just a fleeting jolt of pain. West felt tired, kind of like he had when he was first thrown into the Naughty room, but noticeably more pronounced. His feet dragged as he followed the angry king, carving little paths in the misfit toys as he punched at his opponent.
This would have been so much more fun if he hadn't felt like finding a corner to sit in and staring off into space.
