Otto gulped.
Seeing Eva get burned made his heart stop, breathing ear impossible. "Be careful" He hissed, even if he knew it was beyond her control what the lava did.
He followed after her, taking slow and careful steps. The heat was making him sweat, making his vision blur. Ash sudden spew up in front of him, a hot torrent of rushing steam followed and burned his arm. He hissed suddenly, clenching his teeth and holding his arm close to his body.

Eva whirled around, and it took all of her willpower not to lunge forward for Otto when she saw the ash fly up in front of him. It was only the knowledge that she could get them both killed for being careless that made her stay in place, her heart beating rapidly in her chest as she waiting for the dust in the air to disperse. Was he...?
"Otto. Otto, are you okay?!" There was a note of panic in her voice as she took in the fact that he was clutching his arm, teeth clenched and obviously in pain. After a moment of hesitation, she took a step back, closer to where he stood. There was a beat of silence--a small pause where she waited with baited breath to see if the floor beneath them would explode or something--and then she allowed herself a quiet sigh of relief.
"How...how badly hurt are you? Your shield?"

"It's..fine. Just hurts a bit.." Otto said through gritted teeth. It stung like a b***h, it really did. The Fear Shield kept his skin together, but it was a glaring red colour where he'd been burned.

She cast his arm a look of concern, pressing her lips into a thin line. In hindsight, maybe it was stupid of them to come here. They were close--she could feel it--but she was anxious about the burn. Even if it was mild, the faster they got an icepack to it, the better she would feel.
And that...probably went for both of them. There was a sudden explosion from the ground on either side of them, molten lava shooting up from the pits. As a drop caught Eva on the upper arm, she hissed in pain, knowing that they had to act quickly. Lunging back to Otto, she grabbed his good arm, and then used her other hand to grasp her pendant.
They weren't be sticking around for this.

...Back again? Yup. To tell the truth, Eva wasn't really sure why she had come back. After all, the last attempt had been pretty disastrous, and they had been lucky to get away when they did. The thought of what would have happened if she had been too slow...
The young woman shuddered, and then turned to eye Otto with a worried glance. For some reason, Eva found that her curiosity about discovering this Altar still wanted to be satiated despite the danger. She hadn't wanted to come alone, but she was concerned about dragging the blond through all of that again. "...Sure you're up for this?"

Otto wouldn't let Eva do this alone. Sure, he might not be nearly as curious as the dark haired woman, but he'd support that curiosity. It was important, right? "Like Hell am I lettin' ya go at it alone. Let's do this."

She offered him a little grin, lifting a hand to rub the back of her neck. "Yeah. Haha, sorry to drag you into this again, and thanks." Her grin grew a little wider, and then she took a deep breath and turned to eye the cliff again.

"I am not scared," Came Eva's automatic protest, but her pale complexion said otherwise. She followed after him at a slower pace, watching as the boy scaled the cliff with ease.
Maybe she really should have asked to cling to back like a koala while he climbed.
In contrast to Otto's expertise, Eva began to haul herself up much more slowly, her lips pressed into a thin line as she scrambled to find footholds while making her way up. How she had zoomed up last time, she didn't know, because he was pretty terrified right now.

...Oh yeah, because that part came after this part.
...Well. Eva still would have preferred braving a pit of spikes or something instead of this, especially since there was no harness on her. If she were to fall now...
