Bone and flesh dug at the stone tugging her along, she almost found the path again, but something was off and she couldn't make progress like she had before.

Siddie thought she had found the path, but when she got up to the protruding rock she'd seen, she discovered that there were no further footholds to work with. She sighed and backed down to where she'd been before spotting it.

Sammy took a deep breath, why? It calmed her nerves not because she needed to breath. She lunged upward scrambling left, right, more right, back to the left. She just couldn't find a path, she seemed to be stuck under a ledge that wasn't going to be easy to pass unless you cut to the side...

For a while Sammy was left hanging under a ledge while Siddie rested on another, looking over with a shrug she kicked her boots into the wall and got a solid grip before clawing at the ledge above her, making hand holds to help her climb, not up, but upside down and over the ledge with a hiss of strain.
From there it was smooth climbing, "Siddie..... we should have brought a damn rope...."

This time the rock she'd spotted was the one that marked the beginning of the smoother path up, and Siddie scrambled up and over the top with a groan. She sat down on the ground to rest. "Rope would have been a good idea," she agreed.

Sammy paused crouching down beside Siddie, bone fingers gently scratching at her back as she rested. "Yeah, next time we go on a trip like this... big bundle of rope." She waited just a bit longer before smiling softly. "Lets see if I can make it this time right?"
Once Siddie was ready Sammy stood up and moved towards the lava walking calm and steady towards the center area, oddly enough nothing terrible happened.

"We can do it," Siddie said, and laid a hand on her chest, over the spot where she had the spearhead tucked away. She stood and followed carefully, stepping precisely and delicately where Sammy had stepped.

Steel boots continued to crush the dirt and ash beneath her as she moved around the edges of each burning lava pool.

Sammy looked back at Siddie eyes flickering in confusion, the pools of Lava seemed to be rather calm compared to the first round through. Looking back she could see the alters just ahead. Taking a few steps she moved closer to them. The combined FEAR radiating from the artifacts and the unstable aura of it all pulled her forward like a sirens call.
"Lets see what they where hiding up here..."

Siddie stepped past the last of the lava pools, breathing a sigh of relief, and moved carefully into the center of the space again. She made no move to approach any of the statues; she'd been given her gift, and now it was Sammy's turn.

Standing among the alter she looked around, the sandals she had intended to find where no were in sight. All the statues gazed down quietly on her. So this was where Siddie was when she was down below?
Moving among them she felt the gaze of something beyond her lingering on her. When she turned it was towards the creature, or the God Poseidon. Cautiously she moved towards the statue, in his hand where a pair of reins, they looked old, like they hadn't left the site in eons, yet it seemed like they had just been dipped in water not moments before, dripping cold saltwater down onto the base of the statue.
Carefully she reached out to grasp them, feeling a slight tingle of FEAR as the item bound its self to her being.
So? You are the one who seeks to control those who defy you? Very well. May they ever be your noble steed.
The voice flickered faintly in the back of her mind. Before she could turn to look for Siddie she found herself vanishing in a flash of light back to the start of the mountain right beside the portal they had entered through.
"Noble steed?"ITEM GET 4. Reins of Poseidon: Simple leather reins that smell a bit like the ocean and have barnacles along the buckles, it drips water endlessly. Effect: Throwing this on a target causes them turn into a pony version of themselves and become a little more docile. If used on a horseman: they turn into this mount form. This lasts 2 hours for Y1s, 1 hour for horsemen/ Y2, and 30 min for Y3. It does not work on higher than Y3.

Siddie watched as Sammy looked around, as the zombie ghoul's gaze locked onto a statue and she turned to approach it, just as Siddie had when she had been here before. Something was calling Sammy, though Siddie couldn't see what it was. Sammy paused in front of the statue, looking up at it. Then she reached upwards to take what it offered her. A moment later, Sammy seemed to flicker, then faded from sight. Siddie turned back towards the path from whence they'd entered the altar, sighing softly. She'd been sent back to the bottom of the mountain after she'd been given her artifact, but she didn't expect that to happen again. She'd already asked enough of the statues, and she'd make her own way back. She heard soft, feminine laughter then, fond and amused -- -- and found herself beside Sammy, standing next to the portal. She wobbled, startled. Then she turned towards the mountain and called, "Thank you." She blinked at Sammy. "Noble steed?" she echoed, confused.
