Aurrie Beaues "To the hutch, then. We'll see if we can free any rabbits, take a quick look for flay when Charcoal returns, and get out of here. We've nearly lost one rabbit as it is... Poor sod." He shook his head ever so slightly as he watched the doe leave with Charcoal. She'd have a rasp and a painful throat, but at least she hadn't left to join the Black Rabbit's warren yet. It'd make for an interesting story for her to tell, at least.
"And you." He turned, golden eyes narrowed as he glared at the hlessi. "If I catch you mouthing off again, I'll rip your ears off your head," He gnashed his teeth threateningly at the buck, but he made no move to attack. There was no time to assert is dominance with the old rip and bite technique that he was so fond of when threatened. Even Dogsbane sported a nice scar for being belligerent. That was a rabbit he even liked to some extent.
"Now, get a move on. Come with me to the hutch and we will see what we can find." He hopped towards the hutch, keeping close watch on his surroundings.
"Anyone there?"
- staff post -The buck was already awake, had been, for some time. They were new to the farm, all four of them, and things were... tense here. Nervous. The farmer would come into the barn at odd times to prod at them or move things around the barn. Made it hard to sleep, or rest. He watched silently at the shapes moving into the barn. His ears perked for the first time in... in as long as he could remember. Rabbits, other rabbits. "Hello?"

Yep, beggars can't be choosers.
The small, tawny furred buck sat on his haunches, resting his forepaws on the wood of the hutch's frame and peered inside the best he could see from such a height. The buck was well fed and his coat dark. At least he would blend in a little bit, rather than those hutch rabbits that were covered in big patches of white.
"I am Ginkgo and these are rabbits from the warren I hail from. We came here for flay and to free you, should you wish to come. We'll open the gate... The flay is terrible?" Usually hutch rabbits had flay-rah, so why would he complain about it. "Is the farmer behaving oddly? Are there dangers, here?"

Mei Silja +Bloodroot+ Bloodroot looked at the doe, red eyes gleaming in the dim light of the barn. He looked her over with some care, then moved away from her and glanced around as Coal spoke to the injured female. He saw the hutches, and his ears perked up. Looking at the group, he gave himself a shake. “Why wait? Faster it’s done, faster we can get more mouths to carry food. The longer we sit here the longer you make us wait for a cat” He was glad Gingko said to move and was careful as he moved to follow, avoiding hay and any clumping of things. He kept his eyes out for the glint of the snares, but in the barn he could think of no reason they would be here and chance catching a hutch rabbit. Easing closer to the hutch he stopped, still a bit away from it; enough to move back if he had to run. He had of course ignored the bucks threat not afraid. “Hey, anyone I know?” (( ooc: Claim )) - Staff Post -A buck came forth to the grate, pressing as hard as he could against the chicken wire in frustration. "I would think not. There's only us, and we haven't been here long. The flay is awful and the farmer is off."

Dragon glowered over his shoulder at Ginkgo's threat. He respected the other's temper but wasn't afraid to combat it if he ever tried to speak to HIM like that. That wasn't the case, however and he felt the hlessi deserved whatever he got. The words from Ninebark rang in his ears...something about strangers coming.
Peeking into the hutch, he cleared his throat. "We ain't got a lot of time if your farmer is off." He said in a voice that was cold like stones. He looked about for a moment, noticing how similar this hutch was to his old one. "Do you lot want to come with us or are you content with your cushy lives?" He so wished Charcoal would hurry.

Staff post
(please do not react to this post it is to bring the story along)
The farmer had felt enough time had passed for the rabbits to raid the farm. Quickly and quietly, he slipped from the house and moved towards the barn. He knew they'd try to free his rabbits, they always do. Waiting in the shadows, the farmer would wait until the last of the rabbits entered and then lock himself inside with them.

Pepper was making his way to the barn when he saw the dark shape heading towards the barn. It had to be the farmer. Cursing softly, Pepper extended his legs to the fullest and began to run towards the barn. He had to warn them.

+Bloodroot+ Bloodroot went closer and sighed. No indeed not. “That is a sad thing, I suppose they were taken. They gave me good knowledge. Well then today is your lucky day buck. What about freedom, somewhere you can run and stretch out. There is no farmer, cats or the chained creature. Just win grass sun and the joy of dashing in front of Elil to see it shriek in surprise.” He looked to the light gray buck and waited, his ears up and his muscles trembling just at memory of his own games. "Pepper what..." She saw the shape and her heart sank. The doe shot after him, her paws thudding the ground as she hurried. Her heart knocked against her ribs.

With all the speed he could muster Coal ran back to the barn he still tried to be careful but it was getting towards him being able to navigate the place with his eyes closed, he supposed that was bad, it meant he'd been here too many times. Quietly he nosed his way into the barn and looked around, everyone seemed to be towards the back at the hutch, which was much the same as it had been, it just didn't have legs how. He walked forward and commented to announce his returned presence. "Maybe if we all kick it really hard we can break the wood. We're big strong bucks."

"You know, MY marli taught me to be polite. And if you had asked more nicely-" ---- "Enough! Surely you'll talk his ears off. Listen, the wire moves just so right above that latch. It's too little for us to push it out on our own, but hurry! The farmer comes in several times a night and I've no telling when he'll be here again."

"There is time for bickering later. Not now. Grating, got it." He was too short...Of all the terrible times to be small, this was one of the worst. His pride burned, but he did not let it show beyond a flash of temper. "Dragon, get it. Hurry." He twirled about, ears erect as he watched for signs of danger.

+Bloodroot+ Blood laughed at he listened to the doe. “No I doubt his Maril ever taught him anything. I think he lost his tail because his temper could not deal with anything being in the way of his mouth; oh wait that’s the other side of him." He smiled at the doe and the bucks. However he looked up and nodded. “I see the latch, I will get it. Let the grumpy buck continue to bicker with does.” He stood on his hind legs and nosed the thing before with a jump he had the wire above it and was peeling it down. “There, see.” Proud of himself he settled back down to all fours. Dragon had never heard such a retort. "My Marli was chopped up into little pieces in the human's machine. Now shut your trap and stay here if you want the same fate."
He was able to bound on top of the hutch and started to gnaw at the meshing, in an attempt to pull it free.

Well since they were going to ignore him since they didn't need his help here, he was going to keep watch. "I'll just go keep watch." He hopped back towards the door and out halfway since he'd already broken into the hutch once, he didn't figure he should again and since they didn't have a big strong guard this time, he'd be the runner guard.

Anisthray was making her mad dash across the farm field when she came to a screeching halt, digging her back feet into the ground to pull herself up. She could see him, the farmer, he was heading towards the barn and behind him. There he was Pepper, the one she had been sent to warn. She twisted and made a mad dash for him. “Pepper!” She called softly racing up beside him. “Althea sent me to warn you but you apparently already know, should I return and warn Althea of the farmer and those in the barn?” She asked her voice soft but rushed.
