Seeing Punk Cardinal snorted. “You’re less a rose than a thorn in my side. I’m looking for a mare have you seen her?” It wasn’t as much of a question as a statement that demanded an answer or Cardinal would beat an answer out of the other male. Anyone who knew anything of him knew that tone was trouble only moments away.
(eh he he. I just realized if this is after the Melda RP then poor Punk must be so confused.)
Looking down at the little one who bite Nocturne Me’urra chuckled. “Picked up another one?” When Noct shook her head slightly he watched the little one wriggle over to him and bite at him. It wasn’t painful or anything of the sort so he just watched amused. When the little one snuffed he leaned down. “Satisfied little one?” Me’urra might be a pain in the rump to deal with but he wasn’t the kind of monster that would just mindlessly stomp a foal. In this case he couldn’t help but thing of Talu and himself when they was smaller. Perhaps this was another of Avalanche’s family members? That would explain the biting. Laying down next to Noct he watched as she completely ignored the little one in favor of resting more. “Come here ankle-biter.” Me’urra didn’t want the little one ignored completely and left in the cold.

"Gee, I wonder who put that thorn there?" Punk replied flatly. "A mare? That's descriptive. I've seen plenty of mares around. If you want to specify, I'd be happy to tell you if I've seen your mare."
Ca wiggled over to the one who called her "ankle-biter," going still once she reached his side.
(( No, this would be just before. Otherwise Melda would've been with Ca. Right now I have the order as this RP, the Melda RP, and then the Sauron RP.
But yes, he'd be very confused. And a bit worried since it's Cardinal looking for a "rose." ))

“Funny thing about thorns. They can grow themselves into being a pain all by their lonesome.” He sneered at the male. “My mare. She’s a rose and as pure as the snow that never falls here in the desert lands.”
(Works for me *must stop having and stealing rose Azerin..)
Me’urra felt comfortable with Noct on one side and the little unknown on the other. Noct was already dosing lightly and he wondered if she even cared. Probably not. It was strange but unless it was the little colt she picked up she really didn’t care. He had no idea where the thing came from but Noct said it wasn’t hers and she was raising it. That was enough.

"But to get into one's side, they usually need the assistance of a careless passerby," Punk replied, as if this banter was the most normal thing in the world--and Cardinal wasn't twice as strong as him. "A white rose? Can't say I've seen one around here." Yellow eyes glared at the sneering Azrien. "If that's all your questions, I'm leaving." Unable to stop his silver tongue, he added, "Unless you need another test of courage to confirm that you still flinch at oncoming attacks."
Ca didn't make a sound, silent and still as she stayed huddled next to the "safe" stallion. She just listened to the sounds around her: the breathing of the two adults, the rustle of wind through the plantlife around them, waiting for the sound of approaching footsteps.
(( Lol. XD Well, sorry to burst that bubble, but if Punk and Melda have babies, they're probably going to be rosy. ))

So Shadow’s fear wasn’t here. That was good. Cardinal had no problems with Punk leaving. The sooner the pest left the better. Perhaps he would be lucky and never see the scum again. He just wanted to find Shadow’s fear anyway. Punk’s comment instantly enraged him and he shot a wing out to strike at Punk without thinking. He was stronger and faster than the male so he had little doubt that he would miss. It wasn’t enough to do any real damage but it was enough to wind most adult azrein.
(Yeah I know. not only that but CAA's little ones will too. Oh, and CAA's hit is strong but badly aimed so it probably just whacks at Punk's wing or shoulder.)
The stillness of Me’urra and the little one was comfortable to Noct. It was better than Me’urra son who spoke and asked to many questions. In her mind she let all the things she was keeping close roll about. Perhaps it was near time to have a talk with Me’urra.

Punk grunted as the wing hit his shoulder, glaring at the other bird Azrien. He wanted so badly to launch at Cardinal and beat him to a pulp, but he wasn't strong enough to pull that off. Biting his silver tongue so that he didn't say anything else to get him hit, he stalked off the way he came.
He eventually came back to the place where he'd met Shadowspirit, blinking when he saw both an unfamiliar stallion and his adopted daughter with the silent mare. "Ca."
Ca Thu Thi suddenly left Me'urra's side, shuffling over to Punk as fast as she could. She nipped at his ankle until he nuzzled her.
Punk smiled as he nuzzled the little blanket, then looked over at the stallion. "She didn't bother you, did she?"
(( Maybe you'll just have rosy stallions instead of rosy mares that have bird Azrien chasing after them. XD ))

Amazing how little reminders of who was stronger served their purpose. Sneering at Punk as the other stallion went by was priceless. Still a small part of Cardinal’s mind hoped that he didn’t snap and go too far one of these days. Avalanche would not be thrilled if another herd member ended up dead. Turning his attention away from the little pest called punk he focused on Shadow’s fear again and headed off in search of her.
“Well she might bite, but she’s not much of a talker.” Me’urra nodded to the other stallion not sure who he was. Being new to the herd he had many faces and names to catch up with. Standing up he gave the male a nod nodding the similarities between Cardinal and this male. He really hoped that Cardinal wasn’t related to this male since Me’urra had all he could stand of the red menace. “Still I’m used to the silent treatment.” He looked at Nocturne who just peeked at him from half closed eyes and huffed at him.
“I talk, sometimes.” She just closed her eyes as she felt Me'urra look at her with that silly incredulous look he always did when she explained she spoke more than she wanted.
(*snickers* if Melda’s kids end up good and CAA’s bad or visa versa I can have the war of the roses *is shot for tacky historical reference.* and it will be all Punk and CAA’s fault. You know if the dads don’t get along the children will be doomed.)

"I'm not surprised." Punk smiled down at the blanket quivering happily at his feet. "If she's spoken, I haven't heard it." He chuckled at Me'urra's last comment. "I don't have touble believing that. Oh, I haven't introduced myself, have I? I'm Punk C.A.B. This little ankle-biter is Ca Thu Thi, my adopted daughter." He shifted slightly, wincing as he did so. In retrospect, he was lucky Cardinal's strike had only grazed him; his shoulder was already starting to bruise.
(( Nice. XD I could see Punk's kids being across the board, kinda like Flighty and Savina's, though I could also see Punk insisting that their kids be raised away from the south so that he doesn't have to worry about them the way he had to for Ca during incidents like the one with Cardinal. Or maybe Punk will go neutral. Idk. I think it'll depend partially on how Ca and his children with Calypso develop. ))

“What an interesting pair of names.” Me’urra nodded his head to both of them. “I am Me’urra and this Nocturne Shadowspirit.” He got the evil eye from his mate and had no idea why. Ignoring it he watched the other male wince. His training with Avalanche and Cardinal had left him sore recently so he had some pity for the other stallion. “Training or fight?” He almost wanted to ask who had caused the injury but sometimes that was best left up to the injured party to say if they wanted to. Punk C.A.B didn’t seem like a weakling nor did he act like the arrogant Cardinal so Me’urra’s respect for him went up a bit.
(I can see CAA’s kids being evil and any from Melda being a mix of whatever parent they want to favor. *so across the board*)

"Nice to meet you, Me'urra. And it's a pleasure to meet you a second time, Miss Shadowspirit." Punk grinned sheepishly at Me'urra's question. "A fight, if you can even call it that. I just let my silver tongue get away from me." He shifted again, moving a bit of his weight off of the injured shoulder. "Which was a pretty stupid thing to do since I was talking to Cardinal, and this lovely thing," he said, gesturing to the bruise, "is roughly the equivalent of a love tap for him."
Ca grunted and nipped at Punk's leg, shuffling a little. She settled when her adopted father relented and laid on the ground so she could snuggle up to his side--which she immediately did.
(( What would be kinda interesting is if one of CAA's kids ended up falling for Ca or one of her adopted siblings. >) What would be kinda cute is if somewhere along the line Me'urra and Punk's lines join up, since it looks like they're going to be at least decent friends in the future. ))

A second time. Me’urra was surprised and watched Noct flick an ear to the male to indicate she had heard him. He chuckled at the other stallions kind respect given. It was funny to Me’urra who had claimed Nocturne and kept her for so long but never once called her miss. He sobered up quickly at the mention of Cardinal. He looked at the bruise with pity. His own knees hurt in remembrance of Cardinal shoving him to the ground in a training exercise. “Ah yes. I’m familiar with Cardinal’s ‘loving’ administrations.” He heard Noct give a huff. She’d heard more than her fair share of his opinion of Cardinal. When the other bird azrein laid down Me’urra moved back to Noct’s side and followed suit. “You know you really should have a safe spot for the little nipper if you’re away. Cardinal has been seen prowling the edges of the herd land.”
(That would be interesting. One both plots. *is very amused now*)

"I'm sorry for your unfortunate luck," Punk replied. "I'm assuming that, since he gave you the time of day and you don't appear to be the minion type, you were on the verge of surpassing him in something." That's what usually set him off, though Cardinal did have his malicious moments where he crushed everything less significant than himself underfoot. He nodded to Me'urra's suggestion. "Unfortunately, up until now the edges of the herd land was my safe spot for her." Nuzzling the foal, he continued. "I might just have to find a spot along the border for her." The evil-neutral border, that was, since the borders of their herd's territory was prowled by Cardinal.
(( Well, Punk was planning on going up north with Sauron when he went to visit his mother, and Punk's kids are likely to come with him...
Actually, on that note, maybe Punk and Ca could see Melda when they head up there. Erumara and Melda are friends, right? cool
And since at least half of Punk's kids--Ca and at least one of the Punk-Calypso babies--are evil-aligned, there's bound to be some interaction with CAA's kids. ))

“Only just passing him in a little stroll.” During his training he had been told to run toward a base of a mountain with Cardinal and the red male had made it his mission to stop Me’urra. “Well that might be a good idea or move her further south out of the way of the herd and most other living things. There are a few places I know of and would be happy to point out to you someday if you need one.” He looked at Noct with a sigh. “Though one or two spots I’ll have to keep to myself for my own needs.” He gave a nonchalant head bob. “You understand?” He wondered how smart this other male was. If he moved his daughter further south then Cardinal would never cross her by accident nor would any of the others since the herds little trips usually took them north into neutral lands and back. The best place to hide was in plain sight.
(Oh what do you know~ *total coincidence.* Erumara and Melda are really close friends actually ^.^ Sadly Melda has no idea what Erumara went through. Plus she only stayed the winter with CA and Punk and has no idea that Punk is evil, so he’ll have to be on his best behavior.
As far as CAA’s kids yep there will be at least one evil aligned, I’m not sure what the others will be though since SF is good aligned. *shrug* nature vs nurture at work there.)

"That would do it." Resting his head by Ca's, he continued. "Cardinal and I actually used to be chummy once. You could've even called us friends. But well... he hates when others have the spotlight." He didn't lift his head to nod to Me'urra's casual advice. "I'd appreciate it. Though I'll probably search for a few on my own as well." The more safe spots for his daughter, the better. Smiling, he continued. "I'm going to do what I can to make sure she doesn't need those when she's older." He wanted her to be strong enough to take care of herself even when he wasn't there to protect her. "*A poem's supposed to be heard, after all."
(( *I was wondering when he'd make a Ca name pun.
He'd be on his best behavior anyway, since he would be so far north and he is more or less aware of what happened to Erumara. I could just see them visiting Erumara and then Punk spot Melda in the distance and just take off. XD
... You know, now that I have Ca's out of her blanket, I have this urge to have her defend Sumac. He probably would be embarrassed, but I think it would be cute. Punk could hire him as a babysitter. 8'D
Well then, it looks like CAA and Punk's kids will have something in common. XD ))

“I can’t imagine that **** ever having a friend.” Me’urra was blunt and didn’t bother to censure his language. He was certain if the little filly at the bird Azrein’s side lived down here than she had heard more than a few bad words in her day, and many more to come. He took the male’s words for what they were. It was a polite way of saying he would remember but probably never use the spots. He had no idea what the male was talking about poems for but he figured it had some significance to the male or the little one. It wasn’t really his problem. That thought made him blink. When had he started to take after Nocturne? Perhaps he needed to get out more. Maybe a trip would help.
(*giggles* We all knew it was coming but didn’t know when.
Yeah I could see that too. .. and how does he know what happened to Erumara? Sauron knows he was born and Noct took him away. Noct never mentioned the specifics only that the other mare had a large number of children and was taking one. *this is to Sauron by the by, so that’s his limit of knowledge on the mater.. well other than Noct saying his mother didn’t want him. Me’urra doesn’t know, and she-noct- is raising him incase Me’urra wants him later.* and then did so. Me’urra doesn’t know he has kids *really needs to post that self RP so he learns*
Mm Sumac and Ca. somehow I almost want to see this.
Actually, CAA, punk, and Me’urra all have that in common. But Cardinal and Punk have more. They are both birds and have rose mates. )
