"Ah, and I still have some," Constance said as she pulled a dish from the refrigerator. She set it on the counter and moved to a cupboard, pulling down a couple of plates. Quickly she put some on both plates and popped them in the microwave. Constance had been humming to herself softly as she then got some glasses and poured some tea for both Alicia and Merrick. As the microwave dinged she took the plates out and set them on the table for them both. "Here you go," she said as she placed some forks next to the plates. She pushed some hair behind her ear as she backed up and went to put the dish back in the refrigerator.

Constance's lips twitched into a little bit of a smile. "I'm a little bit of this, a little bit of that." She sat at the table, her hands folded together with her chin resting on them. When Merrick mentioned not knowing his parents her eyes flashed with pain for a moment. "I barely remember mine. I was four years old when they were killed." She removed her chin from her hands and looked down at her fingers. "I remember laughter and peaceful, wonderful feelings." Constance looked back up at Merrick. "Don't worry, we will teach you. I am sure you'll be great at it."



Amelia's pet cat looked at the symbol and when Amelia touched the animal her face practically lit up. "Oh we have so much. This mark hasn't been seen in centuries! At least it hasn't been recorded that it has been seen." Her head nodded up and down a little. "I will have to go to our vault to get our records, but I can surely bring them with me to the meeting. I trust you'll be there with Merida?"

Constance just stared at Merrick for a moment before smiling a little. She had never read anything to learn new languages, but she still understood what he had said. One of her gifts was that she could understand any languages that were spoken. Constance may not be able to speak it back, but she understood it. She pushed back her chair and stood up. "Um, if you want I have dessert as well." Once again she moved to the refrigerator and pulled out a cake. "Chocolate cake with strawberries."



Amelia snorted a little. "Carolyn ruffles everyone's feathers. I am all for working things out, but that girl is too..laid back. Doesn't want to take action when she should. Slow as molasses." Her fingers tapped lightly against her table. "I will find the records for those two clans." She frowned a little when Lorcan mentioned Alicia's powers being nullified by a mere touch. "That...it sounds familiar. I will have to look, but I think something like that has happened before. I should probably start gathering that information. Is there anything else that you need me to try and find?"

"Well this is the best damn chocolate cake in the world if I do say so myself." Constance smiled and giggled as she cut them each a generous slice. She was stuffed so she didn't cut herself a slice. The thing about being the cook...you taste tested so when it actually came time to eat, you really didn't eat. She sat back down in her chair, casually leaning back in it. She was becoming a little more comfortable with Merrick being around. Normally she was a lot more talkative when it was just her and Alicia.



"And I have no doubt it will end up being Merida," Amelia said with a shake of her head. "Those two are constantly at each others throats." She pushed a stray strand of hair from her face. "Well thank you for calling me with this information. I will find everything I can and bring it to the meeting. You have a great rest of the day Lorcan." Without waiting for an answer Amelia cut off their connection.

Constance watched Alicia silently for a moment and when the young woman jumped she smiled a little and chuckled. "Hey, are you okay Alicia?" She asked as she stood up and went back to the sink. There were still some dishes that she needed to clean. Alicia and Merrick had distracted her. She hadn't shown any reaction to the sound of thunder. She had always loved the sound.

"Hmm, I love storms," Constance said softly as she dried off her hands. She stared out the window and smiled a little. There were days when it rained when she would just go out and stand in it. It felt so wonderful. She shook herself from her reverie and turned to face the other two. Constance smiled a little. "Well since I have seen the two of you properly fed I have some other things that I need to take care of. When you're done eating you can just put your plates in the sink. I will clean them later." She smiled a little more. "It is great to have you here Alicia and it was a pleasure to meet you, Merrick." With that she swept from the room.

Constance stood in the backyard, staring up at the sky. It would rain soon, she could smell it in the air. She wrapped her arms around herself and smiled. There hadn't been much that she had to do when she left Alicia and Merrick in the kitchen. There were several little kids running around the yard, throwing a football back and forth. She smiled as she watched them. They were so carefree, so innocent. If only the whole world could be like that then everyone would be so much safer. Constance walked a little further on and took a seat in the gazebo. It was surrounded by beautiful flowers.



"The witches have no idea what's coming." A deep, evil voice laugh. It was almost complete darkness in the room and yet he still wore a long jack with a hood over his head. "They will all pay...."
