Lex smirked at the suggestion. Gladly.
He pulled out five pieces, leaving the tower a bit wobbly, but it settled. Good; no dart to the neck now. Marcus' move.
"Well, sometimes I'm not sure if love really exists, Marcus. At least, for me. Obviously you love your fiancee, which is admirable and I'm happy for you for that - but I don't think love is a thing that will ever come my way." A small chuckle in the back of his throat. Fair was fair.
"Sounds kinda like the bullshit I used to think about myself. Here's a fun fact. Most weapons do love their hunters. Not always... In a healthy way, or a way that makes sense, but in the end they wanted us. And they can't deny it."
He pulled at his pieces.
"Ever consider you know, not just a one night stand?" He sounded slightly amused. Eventually Lex would run out of ladies. "Ever tried it?"

And he was out. Marcus pulled out his pen, giving lex a good pair of handlebars. Smelling salts brought out, he tried to rouse him. "Come on, no avoiding questions. Or training."

Lex gave Marcus a very bleary and clearly not up for sass look. Two darts so far - each leaving bruises and sharpie marks. Oh well - this was supposedly better than the other training runs.
"Mmmm...let me tell you a little something, Marcus." He pulled all five pieces with ease, slanting his eyes at the younger man. "People never care for more than themselves. They pretend like they do; but then they give in to their own selfishness. Some betray their spouse, some give in to their depression and never talk to their children again. Some," he bumped the table with his knee. "Some just keep moving on and on, never looking back."
A sigh.

"Then why are you here Lex?" Marcus's words were suddenly much firmer, bordering angry. "You say people are out for themselves, then why are you in a division made to improving the lives of others? Of saving lives? Why do I remain, if the opportunity to take myself and Cass from this place has time and time again presented itself? Why do we fight then Lex" he pulled at the pieces.
"Are you here because you're a coward who wants a meaningful death, or are you looking to make something of yourself and save lives while doing it?" A deep breath, shoulders slumped.
"Point is we aren't some people Lex. We're hunters. Each life here? It's the only one we get. Why seek to spend it alone, past lifestyle or -" his elbow hit the table along with the tower. A sigh, he slumped forward.

One sharpied on lip ring and a dose of his own smelling salts late, and Marcus would be up, looking at a Lex who, despite all the poking and prodding, was still smiling, if just a bit softer than he had been. Marcus was making Lex think about himself and his own choices - something he sincerely disliked.
"Alright then, Marcus, maybe you've got me in a bit of a bind." Lex said, seating himself at the jenga table. "Maybe was just blowing smoke and talking fast to avoid the question." He sighed, shaking his head a little. "I do enjoy helping people - and I do want to save people. Maybe we're not all selfish all the time - but you can't deny that we all give in to selfishness more often than not. We have our shining moments of selflessness, but they're fleeting. Even in my division, our advances are just to climb the ladder - to end up at the top and away from the battle." He sighed, hastily pulling out pieces and causing the tower to crash.
He was down again.

No smelling salts, Marcus let Lex wake up on his own. The sharpie untouched. Blue eyes simply staring at the talker trainee calmly. "To go back, have you ever tried to be in love? To have something more?"
He pulled at the tower, silent. A look of annoyance as the tower went down him following suit.

Lex rolled his eyes, picking up the man princess style, and walked him out of the room, and to where the full Hunters had their rooms. He left him there, on the side of the staircase, not sure what else to do with the Moon.
He himself took a very long and vigorous shower, washing his face at least 20 times.
