He nodded each of the items Ofelia had listed, filing them away so he could focus on the now. "It'll be my pleasure-" he started, then felt the air being knocked out of his lungs when he was suddenly elbowed. "..." He was clearly surprised by the sudden move, stepping back with a hand rubbing the area she had hit. It wasn't a hard hit of course, but he wasn't...sure why he had been elbowed. Was Ofelia trying to be friendly, in her own way? "....You're welcome?" He said uncertainty, waiting her to see if he was going to be whacked again.

" . . . .oh hell, did Ah hurt ya?" Ofelia had gone about making things and totally forgot that sometimes, when she elbowed things, she did it entirely too hard and people often got hurt because of it. The unhappy worry in her voice was apparent and she left the sizzling bacon to go over and check Jason's side. It was just a quick check, in which she totally pulled his shirt up and was satisfied to see there wasn't a red mark, and just as suddenly as she'd done it she went back to the bacon. "Ah tend ta ferget not everyone's as hands on affectionate. Ah'll be more careful."
The bacon in the pan sizzled, the eggs were pretty much done, and Ofelia motioned for Jason to bring over the plates. "Ah think we're 'bout done unless there's sommin' else we need? How ya doin' on the toast?"

"N-o, you didn't hurt me, I was just supri-ZED!" Jason's hand literally flew up as did his shirt, and he froze while Ofelia checked him for any viable injuries. "O....Okay then..." He smiled awkwardly to show he was not offended. It seemed that she was quite affectionate. In a very tomboyish way. Which there was nothing wrong with, of course. Just as long as she didn't use him for a punching bag... "I think we're pretty good here." He returned to his cooking, bringing over the plates with a few new slices of toast on them. "I'm good on this end. How about we load everything up and eat?"

"Works fer me." Ofelia placed as much as she could on the plates, careful not to let anything slide over or end up on the floor, and she wink-blinked at Jason as she took one of them into her own hands to allow for easier carrying. Everything looked good, everything smelled good, and she had to stop herself from drooling all over. A meal of bacon and eggs and waffles was not something to turn one's nose up at, and she moved to the counter and sat on one of the bar stools. "Com'on, have a seat an' let's check an' see how ya did."
The teen reached for some butter and syrup to place on her waffles and toast, both being equally covered, and she started to eat. Ofelia raised an eyebrow at Jason as she chewed, waiting to see his response. The dog always barks first, in her mind.

It was the long awaiting moment. Sitting down at the table, Jason stared hungrily at the food on his plate. The waffles, the bacon, the eggs, the toast...it all looked so good. Good enough to eat. He in turn layered the waffles with syrup and his toast with butter. Ofelia had already started, so he did not have to worry about being rude there. Laying his fork with bacon and egg, he took a bite. ...... "...... This is great" He sighed happily at the pure pleasure of good food. "I can't remember the last time I had something that was declared as home cooked." He then had a taste of the waffles, which were just as good as the bacon and eggs. "This is so much better then the cafeteria food."

Ofelia just smiled at Jason and chuckled, the delight on her face at him being happy over what he made so very much obvious. It was really refreshing to see someone enjoying their meals, it was why she liked to cook, and whenever someone found out that cooking was super easy so enjoyed being there for that moment. For Jason, it seemed to be this exact time.
"See, yer better than ya thought. Ah'm inclined ta agree wit'cha as well, this is really good. Ya did good, kid, ya did good." Ofelia you are only like a year older why are you calling him kid. "Eatin' sommin' ya made wit' yer own two hands really is the best, ain't it?" Ofelia could recall the first meal she made for herself, horribly botched mac an' cheese, but since she'd made it for herself she ate every last bite.
Then she spent a good part of the evening getting her stomach pumped but no one ever needed to know that.
Chewing, then swallowing, Ofelia waited for her mouth to be empty before she started in on the questions. "So, whatcha wanna know 'bout cookin'?"

"Thank you, though I don't believe I would have gotten this far without your coaching." He smilies warmly at her. "And you're right, it does feel good to cook for yourself." For a few minutes he continued to just enjoy the taste of his meal, until he was asked another question. Swallowing, he thought about what he needed to know the most. "Mainly how to cook meal time meals, like roast meat, or meat pie, or even lasagna. Something I can make up when I have the time to, or even something simple if I'm exhausted after I've come back from a mission. It'll just be nice to have something different besides cafeteria food." He began to pile up some more waffles, before a question came to his mind. "What sort of meals can you cook?"

"Ah can cook pretty much anythin'. Ah've been doin' mah own cookin' since Ah was like...eight? Seven? Ah dunno, lost count there on mah age." Ofelia tried to think back but meh, it didn't really matter. All that mattered was she had time, effort, and skill under her belt when it came to the culinary kung-fu she so often had to employ.
It was hard to explain what she could do though without sounding like she was bragging, so maybe it was good to say bits and pieces? "If ya like, Ah can slowly show ya different methods or sommin' once a week, like a personal cookin' lesson? There's lots ta teach ya over a period'a time, an' Ah think it'd be fun ta hang out tagether." That sounded really fair to her, not to mention it ensured she'd have someone to talk with at least once a week while in the kitchen. "Ah can teach ya how ta cook over an open fire, or make meals that last a while fer stuff like missions?"

She had been cooking for that long?! Jason's mouth nearly hit the floor in his surprise. At that age he didn't have the slightest concept of cooking. "Thats amazing Ofelia!" He replied. "To be cooking at such a young age..." He then listened along, feeling very much like a student in a classroom. What she was suggesting though sounded much more interesting then sitting in any old classroom; it would be nice to meet up with someone else on a regular basis. and he'd be learning a valuable skill he could employ. Apparently in more ways then he originally realized. "Long lasting food while on missions..I never thought of that!" Clearly he was impressed with the notion. "And cooking on a open fire... I could do that on missions too. Though I'd need to carry canned food of some sort." Which was fine, depending on where they were going and how long. Since carrying extra items could weighed you down, something you didn't' want to be if you had to move fast.

"Ahaha ya think so? Ah jus'...had ta cook if Ah wanted ta eat so age didn' really matter ta me. 'Course mah first few times cookin' aren't sommin' Ah'mma tell ya 'bout." She chuckled and shook her head, finishing off the last of her waffle with a heavy bite. It was quickly chewed, swallowed, and she looked to the fridge for something to drink. "Ah'mma get some milk, want any?"
She got up and pushed her chair in, grabbing a cup from one of the cupboards. There was always milk in Deus, someone apparently drank it like it was going out of style, and she opened the fridge and got some out. Even without the use of portals this was a lucky shot. She needed to continue talking though, Jason had said something else, and she pressed on from there.
"What would be a good time fer ya? Ta do the lesson, Ah mean. Ah've got a few tasks Ah gotta do cause Ah'm an intermediate but if we set up a good time schedule or what not Ah'll be able to work 'round it." Ofelia was indeed letting him pick the time and was more than willing to revolve her work around him. It felt good to be depended on by someone, it felt great to have someone want to be with her and learn from her.
As opposed to what usually happened, which was her getting schooled in stuff.

Jason wasn't sure he liked what he was hearing. She had to feed herself at such a young age? Where were her parents? Shouldn't they be around? He wasn't about to ask. Best not pry into someones personal life and make them uncomfortable. Instead he nodded at the offer for some milk. It would be nice to have something to drink. He quickly finished off the rest of his meal, and sat back with a happy sigh "A good time..." Jason thought to himself. Being a beginner trainee left him a lot of free time, though if Ofelia was busy he didn't want to impact on her schedule. "Er, how about Thursday afternoon at five?" He suggested. It was near the end of the week, but not so much in case the sun hunter used that time for her own personal reasons.

Ofelia came over to the table with two glasses of milk, hers and the one that Jason had asked for, and she set it down in front of him before taking a sip from her cup. "Thursday? Works well fer me, Ah'm pretty free in the afternoon 'cause most people prefer ta do their shift work then. Ah also do the night run on the pods so, yeah. Thursdays sound pretty awesome." Ofelia couldn't resist a wink on what she said next. "We'll have a date then."
There wasn't much else to do now, they'd eaten and made plans for cooking and what have you, so all that was left was cleaning up? That...actually needed to be something Ofelia should have taught Jason from the start, the 'clean as you go' method that would make finishing a meal all that was required at the end of it. "Should Ah help ya wit' the dishes?"

"Really? Thats great then." The moon trainee was glad they had set up a date for their cooking lessons- wait wait did she just say.... "A d-date?!" Jason stuttered, the winking suggesting alot more then he bargained for. Was he really going to go on a
"NO! No dishes are cool I will do the dishes It's all good I can do them myself- Zanthvos will you shut the hell up I am not going to do THAT" By now Jason had stood up, picking up both sets of plates absent mildly as he went to do anything he could to distract himself from his weapon, meanwhile forgetting that he was talking out loud.

At first Ofelia just bit her lip, trying to keep the laughter in, but just like back at the library it erupted over her mouth and turned into a full belly laugh. It was adorable to see him so flustered (even though he was probably her age) and the teen just chuckled until she could try and get some control. Her eye watered a bit too, he just seemed so flustered and she did her best to calm him down.
"No no, Ah didn' mean it like that." She managed to say between laughing gasps. "Ah jus' wanted ta tease ya a bit, so relax, relax." He seemed to be doing the dishes on his own, maybe because she'd upset him?

With a long sigh, Jason placed some detergent in the sink and began filling it up with water. By now he had a feeling Ofelia had been joking, but now she had confirmed it just made him feel even more the fool. "R-right then, I'll relax..." He use a nearby cloth to start washing the dishes in the soapy liquid. "S-sorry, it's just that my weapons is...a little uncouth at times." And that was a nice way of putting it, he really hoped she didn't guess as to how bad Zanthvos really way.
