Yansa

Yansa attacks Maya.
Yansa needs 12 to hit.
Rolled: 18 (+6) = 24 +3 = 27, hit
dmg: (9 +6) /2 = 7.5 +3 = 10.5 dmg.
Yansa could see that Maya was becoming tired, even more so than Yansa herself. Yansa wasn't surprised; Maya had only been a blade for a small amount of time, while Yansa had been battling for quite some time now. Long enough to have a position of power within the tribe. She was more surprised that Maya had lasted this long, and even more so that Yansa was so tired herself.
She took the opportunity to lunge forward and strike Maya, aiming for her torso.

Maya attempts to counter attack
Maya needs 14 to hit
5+6 = 11 Miss
Maya stumbled as she attempted to dodge the spear heading for her stomach. She was to slow this time and the result sliced against her side. A large sting on her already cut skin forced her to stumble and fall her hand braced against her wound to stop the flow of blood. Her breathing was hard but she wasn't about to give up the fight.
Swinging her bow out once again as it had worked the first time only seemed to ark wide away from Yansa. Pulling herself back up to her feet Maya stepped to the side taking a deep breath she struggled to remain upright. Waiting for Yansa's next attack.

Maya receives 0 dmg.
Yansa was well prepared for the next lash of Maya's bow. She easily dodged and attempted to strike yet again. She swung her spear with as much force as she could muster, but her eyes pinched shut with rogue dirt, leaving her with a poorly aimed attack. Her spear hit the hard thud of earth and sent the reverberations back into Yansa's arms. The jolt was painful and annoying.
She rubbed the dirt out of her eyes, blinking the large black orbs clear and resumed her stance. Maya was lucky this time, but this battle continued to drag on far too long.

Maya stood there huffing as she welcomed the pause in attack. Whatever had caused Yansa's eye's to become clouded was a welcome addition to the fight. There were only two arrows left in her quiver and she didn't want to waist them needlessly. Near her stuck in the tree was another arrow so if this one was dodged as well at least she would have the chance to pull it from the trunk.
Muscles tensed as the bow string was pulled back tightly. Maya closed her eyes for a second to feel the feathers between her fingers before letting the arrow fly towards Yansa's shoulder

Yansa counter attacks.
Yansa needs 12 to hit.
Rolled: 10 (+6) = 16, hit
dmg: (1 +6) /4 = 1.75 dmg
Yansa was growing weak fast. The last arrow nailed her arm with such force that she winced in pain. The throbbing was incessant and working against her as she tried to lash out at Maya again.
She held her wounded spear arm and tried to push back an attack. She could feel that it was weak and if it did any damage, it would be close to nothing at all. Merely an insect bite of an attack.

The arrow striking Yanasa gave Maya the time she wanted to turn and pull the previous arrow from the tree. Reaching up with her fingers spread wide until she could curl them up around the shaft of the arrow. She pulled back hard. Wincing as a strike from Yansa landed lightly across her back and spinning she hit her head on a lower branch.
Blood trickled from the spot she had smacked hard and falling to her knees Maya almost hissed with annoyance.

Maya receives 0 dmg.
Yansa's breathing was ragged and her movements were slow. She lashed out at Maya with her spear, but the weapon struck only air.
She stood back and leaned on her spear. Maybe she should call it. There was close to no chance that Yansa would be the victor of this battle. Something that hurt her ego, but created a pride in Maya that she had been taught so well.
She would go through with this battle until it was over. She felt she owed Maya at least that. She wouldn't just give up.

Placing her hand over her head she had hit with a lower branch Maya checked for more blood unaware of Yansa's attempt to strike at her. Feeling annoyed with herself for having been completely unaware of the tree branches Maya gripped the arrow clutched in her other hand tightly.
Pulling herself to her fee Maya pulled the arrow tightly back into the strings of the bow before letting it sore onward towards Yansa. Stumbling with weak knees after letting the arrow loose.

Yansa found the energy in herself to dodge the oncoming arrow and after pulling herself up from the floor, came in close to attack.
Yansa pulled her spear back and struck outward with as much force as she could muster. Something in this battle had to change soon.

Maya focused on Yansa as she came closer to attacking with her spear. Twisting her body so she lay flat against the ground to avoid the spear's motion Maya let the air out of her lungs to allow her body to take up less space. Reaching for one of the remaining arrows in her quiver Maya struck out at Yansa once again.
Deep breaths filled her lungs hoping the attack would force Yansa to at least back off the pressure she was under.

Yansa felt her spear catch air and Maya was already launching another attack. She saw the arrow and pulled her body to the side, ready to avoid it, but it wasn't enough. The arrow hit her side and her breath caught in her throat. She was done. She couldn't keep going any long and with this last hit, she knew that Maya would hold no grudges for pulling out of the fight.
"That's it, Sister. We're done here for today." Her breathing was ragged and her bones were aching, but this had been an interesting battle. "I can see how much you've grown." A small smile played on the corners of her mouth as she sat down on a nearby stone to catch her breath. "Well done."

Maya paused in silence, disbelief coursed through her. The fight had been really long and though Maya had proved her speed both to herself and what she had hoped, Yansa. The way the fight seemed to continue Maya was sure Yansa would have dominated her at the very end.
Letting her body relax Maya fell flat against the ground her arms spread wide and a smile etched across her face. "That was an excellent fight Yansa. Thank you for the chance." Though her body stung in many places, and her head pounded from the strained fight she couldn't help but feel a little prideful at being able to stand so long in a fight against Yansa. There was nothing wrong with pulling out of a fight, and Maya would have done so herself if she wasn't afraid of what Neibet, or Kishku would have said about it.
