I get a lot of stares and rather nasty comments for the way I dress - esp from kids at school and my parents. The stares are easy to ignore, but some of the comments get to me. It's funny when I walk into the classroom though. Almost all the kids - even the teacher - go eerily silent. blaugh
.....And they wonder why I laugh on the inside....

Hahaha.....my main problem is my mom. I live in fredericton new brunswick(canada), so buying clothes is impossible, so i got to frenchies(a second hand store0 and take the scissors and sewing machine to whatever i find, or else i make it myself, but my mom is really psycho strict when it comes to what i wear, she doesn't give a damn if i dress like a total slut, but when i go gothic she freaks....but i do take pieces in my bookbag and change at school, but i can't take an entire outfit with me. Right now i REALLLLY want a crinoline, but i need to find one....not really sure how i'm sopposed to make one....my schools really srict about hats and bandanas and stuff....one teacher won't even let girls wear headbands!!...so cat ears are definitely out of the question.....*sigh* but right now i'm going to go buy a pair of suspenders, i'll wear them properly and i'm just going to leave them hanging sometimes biggrin

@Tidus_4ever Wow, I'm so glad I'm in college. I remember the dress code we had in middle school, but after that I wore whatever the heck I wanted. It's too bad your mom doesn't llike the way you want to dress. Lolita clothing really isn't that scary. sad In fact, it's pretty tame. You could try dressing like Frankenfurter from Rocky Horrow Picture Show, if you mom doesn't mind the slut look... xp

My friends love it to death! They want to copy me, but just can't pull off the look. blaugh
The more conservative people I know, though, don't like it very much. They tell me that it's just a bit too "out there". I can't blame them, though. Lolita really is a strange style. Some people can just appreciate it more.

Yea I"ve been through the out there thing... fashion square mall... there's this kid with his hair in the liberty spikes in 4 colors, full hot topic gear, full facial make up, the whole nine yards. I"m wearing my white and black loli outfit complete with knee high white platform boots... and he's just gaping.

People say nasty thing abour me, and somtimes stare, but I shrug it off and hope they leave me be. I don't like the kids in school anyways so it works out very well xd . Other then the little trouble I get...it burns a whole in my pocket and my parent's pocket's.

I live in up tight WASP central and I often get weird looks from people. The funniest thing though is when they try so hard to pretend they aren't looking at you criticaly and it only makes it more obvious.
On the other hand I often go to the with one of my friends who is also into EGL fashion and we take pictures. Everytime we go inevitably some little girls come over and start to talk to us and we end up playing with them.

I don't have any really interesting clothes crying so I don't get too many weird looks although I do act a bit hyper and then people have a tendency to stare.

No, a few strange looks and giggles. xP
Today I came downstairs and my mum said: 'If I had tried to dress you in that you would have said I was silly,'.
Oh how very wrong. x3

I'll wear my outfits that I do have, even to the clinic to go get Birth Control Pills! I did on Friday, hahah! The doctor thought nothing of it, though half the waiting room was staring at me, including kids.
I walked around in public with my devils tail, head-wings which are dead now, and my awesome demon clothing. ^__^ I looked hawt. It was awesome. So many people stared. Kids loved me. Someone pulled my tail, and I felt it, so I cried in pain just to scare them. XD I was so mean back then. [was only a year ago]

I've gotten drama from a teacher once.. It was rather interesting.. "Do you know what Lolita is?" "Yes, sir." "You know?" "Yes." "Then why do you dress like that?" "It's a style, sir. And it looks good on me." "...Bu-" "Yes, sir. I don't give a damn."
And I left..
n n I'm also constantly being told my the principal that my clothing is too distracting for school.

Too distracing? People who have their pants halfway down their a** with their underwear showing is probably more distracting then wearing Lolita type clothing. At least that's tasteful.
