 Falcon was very nervous about this race, there was no safe way to do this. He had to be very fast and very careful. He was there when determining teams but wasn't sure which leg of the race would be his.

The cat kept walking, and Oxlip did his best to flatten out in the grass behind his fence pole. Frith! That was too close.

Oxlip didn't waste any time when his team-mate finally arrived. He grabbed the flayrah in his mouth and didn't stop to look where the other rabbit went.

Oxlip felt much better when he was running than when he was waiting. It was probably just as dangerous, but at least he could do something about it. He ran quickly towards the hidden rabbits and the relative safety there, zigzagging a little to avoid drawing elil to them.

This was just fantastic, he was the one that was going to have to go into the farm to grab the flayrah. He really hoped that nothing spotted him and nothing smelled him. He decided the longer he waited the more chance there was for trouble so he took off fast, he sprinted from one piece of cover to another moving as fast as he could.

He slowed a bit, trying to hear if anything had caught wind of him. Nope, sounded ok so far.

Falcon felt so slow and not only that he was paying attention to everything around him except for what was in front of him. He didn't realize until it was too late, he tripped over a small mound of dirt and now he was way out in the open. He quickly scrambled up and took off to get out of the area and hide somewhere.

He zigzagged again, but he was fairly certain that he wasn't followed by elil. It would be bad news to draw any of them back to the main group of rabbits. They could probably scare away a pfeffa, but a rowf... It wouldn't be pretty.

Oxlip nearly swallowed his tongue when he heard the bang. He scrambled to safety and put the piece of flayrah down next to Althea. Hraka! The movement of something white attracted the attention of one of the pfeffa, but since it had disappeared as soon as the cat saw it, the creature soon lost interest.
"Who was that?" he asked, eyes wide with fear. He was back in one piece, but in the stories he'd heard that bang usually meant that someone had stopped running.

The farmer hadn't even bothered to find his pants.
Reaching for the shotgun he kept by the door, it was a the work of a moment to throw the door open and shoulder the weapon.
Here, in the middle of a clearing so if any of those pesky critters went after his crop harvest he'd have a clear shot.. he had a rabbit.
He held his breath as he depressed the trigger...

Her ears shot up as she heard the shot. Resisting the frantic urge to run in a nervous circle, one ear rotated as she listened for a second one.
But it never came.
Althea knew what that meant. One, clear, precise shot meant a sure kill. If more than one gunshot was heard it meant the farmer was having trouble aiming.
This was a death. On her. One of the rabbits she was charged with caring for.
Lowing herself again, she closed her eyes and muttered softly to herself.
"I don't know, Oxlip, I don't know."
But she'd find out sooner or later. Someone wouldn't come back. Both rabbits that had danced with Inle' yesterday had made it back today. Oxlip and Feverfew were here, so who had it been, then?

Dogsbane took a few deep breaths. He was terrified. He shook all over, teeth chattering and eyes wide. He...he had to do it. He had to prove himself. His ego wasn't going to let him back down. He had run circles around a hawk yesterday...he-he could do this.
He was a little happy he was a second runner, but nervous all the same.
Position: Runner, recieving the flay-rah and running it back.

 Rainfall was an active gal who loved to run... So why not enter the race? It was going to be dangerous, of this the doe was aware, but there would also be glory and pride in returning. Returning with flay would be a good thing, indeed, what with winter fast approaching and rabbits still needing to put on some weight. Perhaps she should have been more fearful, but determination was etched on the red rabbit's features.
