Well, the weekend of the big event is here, and though I've suffered many set backs in my quest to get everything ready; I can safely say that I am ready for this, and I'm both excited and nervous to start.
Unfortunately I don't know what pics I can take, but I'll be sure to give you a detailed report of everything that is happening when I get the chance. If not that then I'll give you an update tomorrow evening on the train home (assuming the internet works) and we'll take it from there.
Wish me luck, I think I'm going to need it.

Well, I'm back from the event, and I have to say, it was absolutely fantastic and well worth the trip and the stress. I don't have any pictures of the weekend I'm afraid. I forgot to take my camera (as well as a typed copy of my Army list and the rules pack) so I'm afraid I cannot help anyone there. I have learnt a fair few things over the eight battles. And I can definitely say I achieved my goal to win a battle. In the day, I won *drum roll please* 1 out of 8 matches!
It doesn't sound like a lot, but I'm not being fussy. I wasn't confident going into the event but I was happy. I don't even care that I was second to last in the standings. Someone had to be.
The one thing I've learnt is that when fielding cultists, you need a lot of them, and I mean a lot of them. 200 points game, and that is a lot of Cultists if you wanted, but they're perfect targets. The first thing to go were the cultists. Once half were gone, it caused me to take a break test, which gave my opponents points, and if you fail: you loose. I can't remember the amount of times I lost matches based on break tests (actually five matches. 1 game I lost on points because time ran out, 1 game I was completely annihilated and the rest were break tests) so either pack loads, or choose something else. I have to admit though, my Cultists did do some cool things. They took down a Necron Wraith, took out a Sentinal and managed to kill a Paladin.
There were some really cool models that people had purchased. I think the coolest was done by someone I hadn't seen in years who used to live near me (he had the Wraiths and converted them to look like they were from the Dark Mechanicum!) There were Imperial Ksarskins that were painted to look like members of the Tau Empire, and a really cool Deathwatch kill team that I went up against.
My leader didn't do very well, in the whole day he only managed to wrack up 5 kills so I will be considering something different. I'll have to see what I can do. I was thinking of a Kill Team based around the Sigilite's Knight Errants including Garro, Tyros and Valen, but in the new rules pack you cannot take the Psyker special rule, but I'll keep on looking at different things.

You'll have to excuse the fact the photograph is from Facebook, but here is a picture from the day of my Kill Team (the blue ones on the snow bases) If it allows you to move back and forth through the pictures; the one before that there is a guy with messy brown hair in a blue jumper to the right. That would be me.

Yep :3 I'm trying to think when that was taken. I think possibly after lunch as the only time I was on that side of the board was the sixth game and my last game which was a different table.

I've just been going over the new rules pack for 2013 and I have to admit that while the new special rules selections are a bit of a pain in the a** for my plans, they do make an awful lot of sense in terms of making the games fair, and make them a bit quicker and easier to remember.
