Okay, maybe he just shouldn't have tried. Unfortunately, like his last race, he was not doing nearly as well as he hoped he would. He was burning with embarrassment.

It seemed that embarrassment sparked something in him. The young rabbit managed to pick up speed yet again and his large paws carried him along the longer trail.

He was getting the hang of this! Oxlip was pretty sure that he wasn't running as fast as he had done yesterday, but he had more fun today!

He maintained that speed, leaning in to his running. His heart pounded. He was getting close! If only he could keep moving this fast.

He wasn't quite able to maintain it like he had hoped, but at least he was still going.

In fact, he was running faster and faster, despite the terrain. Things were going good so he tried to jump over the next hurdle he encountered.

He slowed still, but he was so darn close. He was sure his time was roughly about the same as his last, thus far. At least he wasn't doing significantly worse?

Patchouli threw himself into dashing across the last bit of terrain, feet a blur as he gave it his all. He finished with a far better time than last run, he was sure of it!

He increased the speed a little bit, but still had to hold back. There was no sense in breaking his neck in a race for fun. Well... It would be sweet to become a runner, but he didn't want the position unless he was good enough.
