Vic was left speechless well more than normal. His eyes went from his wife to the boy and back and forth, trying to take in everything thing that was going on right in front of him. The incubus already knew they were going to adopt but it felt like it was sooner than he thought. Thinking it over a bit he finally just looked at Moira. If she thought it was time and whatever was in the letter made her decide that it was time then Vic would have to stick but it. Plus she was his weakness so he couldn't refuse.
Looking back to the boy he waved to him. The boy was different but so were many of the others of their kind. Vic still hadn't gotten over not liking to talk to others he didn't know and he just knew that there would be a lot more awkward moments before he would actually start talking to the boy. Maybe it was time to break out the good old note book and write on it so have some conversation with him.

XXNoticing that after Tobias' meek hello that neither of them spoke in any way shape or form, she sighed and leaned back in towards Vic. "He's going to be worried that you won't want him if you don't say something.. I can tell you more about it later.." Moira whispered before walking back over to the boy and kneeling down yet again, "Hey, how about we head inside and show you about the house?" she asked.

"Okay..."
Still unable to make himself louder, he followed after Moira. "Vic" was rather intimidating, especially since he wasn't talking. He stuck close to Moira, glancing over his shoulder back at Vic as he walked.

How did he know that was going to happen? Vic sighed knowing he would really have to do something to make sure the boy didn't think he didn't care. Looking down to his bag of snacks then got an idea. He knew most kids liked sweets and thought that could get it out that he cared. Digging through the bag he pulled out the cookies he had started to eat and swooped in close to the boy trying to offer them to him. The incubus hoped the boy got what he was trying to do if not he would have to think about another plan.

Tobi skittered to one side as soon as Vic got close, eyes wide again. His wings flared out and tail curled upwards, resembling the iconic scorpion pose. Poor thing thought something bad was going to happen.
Upon seeing the cookies though, he relaxed a little, quickly glancing from the cookies to Vic, then back to the cookies... then to Moira, though his third eye stayed permanently fixed on Vic.

XXWith a sigh, Moira rubbed her temples and looked at the two. "Well this is great, it seems like you're both little kids now. I'll be inside when you two figure this out.." she stated glumly, hoping that this would have been solved in a better manner than Vic going quiet like he usually did in front of people he didn't know, but she figured that if she had left the two alone, things would be sorted out eventually. With another look back to the two Incubi, Moira shook her head sadly and walked inside the house.

Again Vic was hit with confusion not sure why Moira said what she said but as he thought about it he began to understand. It was just the way Vic was and it hadn't changed. Sighing himself he looked back to the boy and tried to smile at him which it just made him look nervous. He knew that he would have to get use to talking to the boy some time soon but taking it slow wasn't too bad. Again he offered the cookies to the boy though he was starting to think that the boy might not get to like him.

Moira started to leave. LEAVE him there with this guy who wouldn't talk to him, and snuck up behind him, to offer these strange cookies he'd never seen before and why was she leaving?!
"DON'T LEAVE ME!!!" The shrill, high pitched shriek of his voice was loud enough for both of them to hear. He backed further away from Vic, visibly panicked.

XXThe shrill shriek caused Moira to stop and clutch her head slightly, pausing in the doorway before looking back to the boy. "If you would like to come inside, then come inside. Vic has this... thing where he likes to not talk to people when he first meets them. I actually forgot about it.." she sighed, walking back over to Tobias and kneeling down to get to his height again.

Cookies dropped as hands went to cover his ears feeling that it was like nails on a chalkboard. Though even though the shrieking hurt his ears it was his heart that hurt the most. He had just met this kid that would be his son today and he was already hated. Yeah sure he was intimating and everything and he didn't care who hated him but this was suppose to be his son.
With a sigh and a disappointed look on his face he looked to Moira shaking his head before trying to go inside. Vic wasn't about to give up, not one bit. He wasn't raised to be a quitter but he did have to regroup and think of a new plan.

That didn't seem like a good enough explanation to Tobias, who just backed up even more. No, he was not going in there. "You lied! You said he would love me!" Why he was having such irrational feelings, he didn't know, all he knew was that everything was horrible and he didn't know how to make it stop. His hands cradled his head and he dropped to the ground, squatting. His wings folded up over his head, tail wrapped itself around his feet in some sort of effort to make himself smaller, maybe small enough to disappear.

XXMoira flinched at the 'yelling', though she worked past it and pulled the boy into a hug, holding him close. "I'm sorry. I really am sorry, I should have told you that he's shy around people he doesn't know. I'm sorry Tobias, but we..have to start with small steps, alright?" She asked quietly as she looked him in the eyes, trying to not cry from her own memories.

Vic hadn't gone far inside as he listened in on them. It only made Vic feel worse, feeling like he had already failed as a father. Palm met with his face. He really wasn't ready for this but he had to do something or he would never be ready. Vic knew what he had to do and even though the thought wasn't sitting right he had no choice.
Stepping out of the house Vic looked at the two and opened his mouth but the words just didn't want to come out. He tried to force them out but they only came out as odd noises. God he was just making a fool of himself. "You're wrong." Vic said nearly as a whisper. Finally he had said something and it came out so tiny. Today was just not his day.

Tobias kept himself balled up, breathing quickly and unsteadily. He was doing his best to calm down, and Moira's words did help, but for some reason this situation was just not making it easy. He barely heard what Vic said, but it was loud enough. He uncurled just enough to peer out at the older Meta, still looking quite a bit panicked.
Who was wrong? Moira? Was she wrong about him wanting a kid? Or was he himself wrong about Vic not liking him? He didn't really know what to say or how to react, instead letting out a small, pained sound... of course it wasn't vocal, just something that echoed in their heads.

XXMoira could barely make out what he said, but the fact that he said something caused her to turn her head. Looking back at her husband with wide eyes as she clutched the child close, she waited to see if he would say anything else. She had thought that the situation would work its self out if the two had some time to socialize with each other in their weird way, but it ended up like this.
