Cecelia looked over the situation, it seemed very...odd to her, but after everything she'd been through, it wasn't THAT odd. "You and your foals are welcome here, Erumara. This glen is home to many families, yes of many different alignments, but all have vowed for eachother's safety. None here would mean you or your children any harm. This place is surrounded on 3 out of four sides by forest, my and my mate's family live on one side, we can find a spot near the stream for you and your foals. This area is patrolled regularly, one of us will always be within shouting distance, Miss Erumara." Cece said politely back with a dip of her head in respect.

Darrian nodded his thanks to Cecelia, she understood, and he knew she did. "Thank you Cece. We'll find her a spot near our own little plot." he agreed.

Erumara had expected more questions. Such plain trust felt foreign to her now even though it wouldn’t have been a year ago. “Thank you.” Her voice was very soft. She did catch the part about other alignments and looked at Darrian startled. Vowed for each other’s safety was one thing. She was another. None may mean them harm but if word traveled back down south and that monster or his mare found out? She shifted uncomfortable. She didn’t want to shout out if that call only brought another enemy to her foals. Still Darrain’s words soothed her were Cecelia’s had not. Unconsciously she shifted closer to the male and used a wing to pull a little one to her side protectively. Darrian may be male but he was no threat and he was safe. “Thank you.” This time was for Darrian more than the other mare.

Cecelia noticed that it was time to take her leave. "Please make yourself at home, Erumara. Darrian, you know where to find me." She said calmly before walking away.

Darrian turned to Erumara as she shifted closer to him. "I think what Cece was trying to say was that, no matter the azrein here, when you entered under my protection, you gained the protection of all these azrein. There are no azrein here aligned with the Six any more. There was once one or two but I think they have converted. There is... Bhaskar's family....but they live far enough out and they won't come unless called by name." He finished. He wanted her to feel safe, and he would do anything he could to make that happen.

Still feeling uncertain she nodded anyway. “I understand. I will try and keep that in mind.” The name meant nothing to her but she stored Bhaskar’s name along with Cecelia’s. She wondered where Darrian would take her to finally let her rest. She looked and did a head count on her foals to make sure none had wandered off while she talked to the mare. The winged filly was currently investigating a flower with such concentration that she looked ridiculous. Laughing aloud Erumara said an old phrase still shocked by all the upheaval. “Menel corm tuulo' du a' kalian, my little one.” To her surprise the little filly turned and looked at her as if responding to her name. Blinking she smiled realizing she had at least found a name.

"That is a beautiful name, it seems very fitting for the young girl." Dar smiled before beginning the round about trip to take her to the spot that Cece had mentioned. There was a stream that ran close to where he and his family had settled, he also believed there may be a few apple trees near there. Once they got there, he realized that he was right. A little clearing of its own with an apple tree in the middle, almost like a gift to whoever would settle there. The stream ran across the southern side, with it sharing the eastern forest wall with Darrian's family. "Will this do for the time being?" He asked, honestly wanting to make sure it was suitable for her.

“Well it’s less of a name and more of a phrase really.” She wondered if she could perhaps get her daughter to respond to something else later and more fitting for a name. Following the stallion to the post she had to admit the land was beautiful here. She noticed the apple tree and wondered if it had been planted there years past. After she had gaped at the land she realized that Darrian was staring at her waiting for her answer. She coughed. “Oh yes. It’s very nice Darrian. I didn’t expect it to be so grand. It has everything I need.” And your family is close by if I need help. While she had never met his family she could only hope that they were as kind as he was..

"I will patrol this area and surrounding area well, making sure to surpass our borders to ensure your safety and the safety of your foals. If there is anything you need of me, all you must do is ask." He told her honestly, and seriously. Darrian really meant it. He knew, that once he talked to his siblings, they would understand and do everything they could as well.

She didn’t want him to leave. For the first time since her ordeal she had someone with whom she felt safe. She didn’t want him to go on patrol. She wanted him to stay here with her and help her feel more at ease in this place. She’d only been here mere moments and now he was abandoning her? Stuffing her panic back she nodded. “ I understand.” Before she could stop herself she added one more thing. just hurry back. She just looked at her foals and didn’t focus on Darrian. He was nice but really he didn’t owe her anything. If he never came back it would be alright wouldn’t it? No she wanted to see him again. She kept that part of her quite though while she nuzzled her little boy and looked at her baby girls.

Darrian momentarily saw the panic on her face and heard her soft 'hurry back' and smiled to himself. "Hey..." He said softly, dipping his head apologetically and moving closer to her. "I don't have to go anywhere if you don't want me to. I was just...unsure if you would want me around." He said shyly, his wings rustled against his back before settling again. Dar really couldn't tell if Erumara wanted him around or not, he wanted to be around her, but he didn't always get the things he wanted.

“I don’t know what I want right now.” She looked at him pathetically. “I feel used and hurt, panicked and worried. I don’t ever want to risk getting hurt like that again.” She looked at her foals. “I love my children so much it hurts and I can’t believe the thoughts I was having before you arrived.” She closed her eyes. “I feel dirty and unclean but most of all I don’t want to be alone. I’m scared.” There she said it. She opened her eyes expecting him to have some silly skeptical look on his face.

Whatever she was expecting to see in his face certainly wasn't there. All he could be was understanding. Darrian remembered how he felt when he was old enough to realize what exactly had happened with his mother, or even when his father sent them here with Damir. He felt as she does, hurt, worried, panicked, and alone. Instead of any reaction on his face, a soft smile found its way to his face. As he shook his head, he knew he didn't want to leave her either. "Erumara, I'm not going to let anybody else hurt you. And if I ever hurt you, please feel free to put a hoof in my face because I probably will deserve it. I will be here to look after you and your children. I remember when I was old enough to understand the situation with the fallen, I felt hurt and worried. Then when my father sent us here to live with my brother, I felt alone. I know its not close to anything you're dealing with, but I have been in a situation where I felt similar to you, and I will do anything I can to help. I'll stay right here until you tell me to go, and I'll stay away until you tell me to come back." He looked away as he felt his face warm with a blush of his unsaid words. Dar doubted that that was what the young mare needed to hear.

The calm smile on his face was surprising and put her mind on its kilter so the words sank straight through her mind and into her heart. Darrian had suffered loss and it was of a parent. He had been shoved out of his world and into a strange place just like she had and he had turned out alright. He even understood her feelings and was offering to let her have the power to hold him or shoo him away. To Erumara who had her choices stripped from her and now had to be strong enough for her foals no matter how broken she felt; it was the perhaps the kindest gesture that could have been next to finding her a safe place to lay down. She watched him look away and stepped closer to him. Placing her head on his back by his wing joint she let out a long sigh before letting a soft silence build. When she broke it the silence it was with the barest whisper. “Thank you Darrian. Please.. stay with me.” She didn’t want to be alone and Darrian was the cover to keep her warm. With him around she didn’t feel as scared. If she let him perhaps he’d stay and keep the monsters in her own memories at bay. There were bound to be nightmares in the times to come and yet the future didn’t seem quite so bleak with Darrian around.

His soft smile stayed on his face as she placed her head on her shoulder. What warmth emanated from her felt like the warm spring sun. Her coat felt like summer's grasslands swaying against him. The feathers of her wings were like the warm wind currents he road in the sky. Darrian didn't feel like he needed to say anything, instead, he stretched out the wing nearest to her and put it around her protectively, like a Knight's shield protecting the innocent. He would make sure she was happy no matter what, he vowed to himself as he led her to a soft spot under the tree and motioned for her to lay down. He would protect her. He would keep her safe. He would keep her happy. And, for as long as she would let him, he would love her.
