Aventine's eyes narrowed firmly; she wasn't going to easily be convinced, and her face was quickly reddening in frustration. Her hands clenched into firsts at her side and she seemed to be near to the end of her rope. "Now—I've tried to be nice, tried to view things from your perspective—I'm just pissed off now! It doesn't matter if it's true—and I'm not saying it is—it's still rude! Damn it. You make no sense. If I'm an alien, you're an alien, too—I hope you know that!"
After all, there wasn't that big of a difference between them, was there? The only real difference was that one was good and one was bad—right?

Natron frowned. Perhaps he had backed himself into being on the defensive, but this was the second time someone had accused him of being an alien and that just was not going to fly. "Hey, whoa, no, I am not some kind of alien, okay." He said. "And even if I am - was - whatever, I'm on the right side now and that's what matters." He said. "I'm here to make sure you Knights and your Senshi buddies and your Moon Queen don,t take over my planet, again."
He was, if nothing else, set in his beliefs, and thoroughly so.

Aventine's brows knit, and she went from being very angry to very frustrated, and very frustrated to very confused. Her lips pursed and her brows knit. "I don't—what Moon Queen? What are you even talking about? My only job is to stop the monsters and freaks from hurting civilians—my friends, my family. I don't care what you do as long as nobody I know gets hurt. Mmkay? So, drop your damn alien argument, drop your damn moon queen argument—I don't care. I was born on this planet, I live on this planet, and I will die on this planet, you hear me? The only reason I'm powering up is to figure out what the hell is going on, and how I can keep the people important to me safe. There's no hidden agenda, that's it. So stop arguing with me, you don't have a damn idea what you're talking about."

Natron frowned. "Those monsters and freaks used to be people, you know," he said. "They were regular people, who rose up when the Moon Queen tried to take over the Earth." This sounded just like one of his conspiracy theories. That was probably why he knew the story so well. "Maybe you specifically don't have an agenda." He was willing to grant individual passes, perhaps. Vanadis had also seemed lost and confused more than threatening. "But the thing is? You're just one person. Order is huge."
He was doing his best not to yell anymore. That never won arguments anyway.

Aventine just stood there, suddenly feeling very in over her head. "Well, then I'll just have to talk to Order and figure out what they're really doing because I thought we were just supposed to keep people safe. If there's anything more than that? I don't care. I'm not gonna get involved in politics, and I'm not going to do anything more than what I think is right. Hopefully, if Order does have an agenda, they'll let me in on it sometime, and if it's as bad as you say, I'll come back to you and apologize. But," she forced herself to focus on something other than being angry, so she hastened to brush down her outfit.
"I guess I'm not sure how I can trust you given the fact that all I've heard is that the Negaverse is bad and hurts people and drains their energy. I'm not sure how you can claim to be the good guys with that going on. That's all I want to know right now, okay? I'm not even mad. Just. Just wanna know."

Natron nodded. That was...actually pretty well-reasoned. He was impressed. He'd gotten used to thinking of Order people as overly confident and far, far too sure of their rightness. "Well, I can appreciate that you're at least willing to consider that I'm not spewing ridiculous lies." He granted.
"Uhh, small misconception, I guess, draining energy doesn't actually hurt people if you're careful about it. As far as I know." He said. "And, er, I don't want to hurt anyone? Civilians at least." He really liked to think of himself as one of Earth's great defenders and he couldn't justify civilian casualties in that mental image. "But, I guess Order doesn't have the kind of organization we do. Which is a little ironic but," he shrugged, "if the people higher up have things they don't want you to know than I guess it kind of makes sense. You're the second person I've run into who's admitted to being pretty thoroughly lost."

Aventine hated feeling like she was lost, and hearing that the Negaverse had good construction made her stomach flop. She held her tongue for a long moment and then just nodded; she didn't have much of a choice but to trust his words because—hey. He might be the 'bad guy' still, but if no one was going to give her all the answers, then she was just going to have to draw her own conclusions.
And suddenly, unfortunately, this guy didn't seem so bad. Yeah, he was off his rocker—she still held that conviction firmly—but he said he didn't want to hurt anyone, so—fine. As long as he didn't hurt any of the civilians, she wasn't going to press right or wrong. "All right, well I'm going to trust you on your words, Natron. And don't hold it against Order because I'm lost. I just got started, so maybe the right people just haven't found me yet. So don't go thinking your little Chaos group has things working better than us just yet."

It was certainly fair for Aventine to be certain that Natron was off his rocker. It was, quite frankly, true, and had been since well before he joined the Negaverse.
"I speak the truth as I know it and as I see it," he said. There was, to him, absolutely no reason to lie, not when the truth was so much more damning. "I dunno, maybe that's true, but like I said, there was so done else who told me she was really lost at first, too." He shrugged. "And I think that sucks, a lot, because it means you're getting punted into danger by whoever decides when you all wake up with nothing but some frilly pants and...what is your weapon anyway?" Knights, he'd managed to figure out, were like Negaversers in that they had some form of weapon or other. Knights just usually had even wussier ones than Negas. Which really only made sense since Negas were, in his view, Knights enlightened to the correct side of this little war of theirs.

"I'll have you know I like my frilly pants," Aventine huffed, though Natron had a good point. She withdrew her perfume bottle and gave it a good, long look before she sighed and held it up for him to see. "So, this is my weapon. And don't say anything about that either, because I don't care, I like it. I just."
Well. It just wasn't cutting it in terms of defense, unless she was using it wrong and—how many ways were there to use a perfume bottle? "Well, anyway. What about it? You want a spritz? Smells pretty good, I can help you freshen up if you ever need it?" she offered.
At least it was something. She didn't really mind sharing information about her weapon—she just hated that Natron seemed to know more about it than she did. At least they had gotten onto the topic of conversation again—and weren't arguing who was right or wrong.

Oh god, now he really felt bad for her. A perfume bottle? He couldn't even think of something cool and tough that would turn into. He also would have called it girly, but then, well, she was a girl and all that pink. It had to be a Venus thing. So he resisted the urge to comment.
He was legitimately surprised when she offers him a spritz. Ordinarily he would have turned it down (and the part of him that knew anything about relationships said that Toutatis was guaranteed to notice and it would be awkward and...) but, well, she had offered and really, it wouldn't be too terrible. "Sure," he said. "Uh, thanks."
He could play nice with her, and wasn't that sort of his job? Besides, their conflict was on a larger level, but that didn't mean he had to hate every single White Mooner, right?

Aventine seemed rather confused when he accepted; it wasn't like she was used to people saying yes—especially the ones affiliated with Chaos. With perhaps a bit too much enthusiasm, she took a step forward, presented the bottle, and spritzed the front of Natron's coat. The perfume was light and floral, and what didn't land on him was quickly lost in the breeze.
"There, now!" she declared. "That's not so bad! Right?" She turned the bottle on herself and spritzed again for good measure before she tucked the instrument away. "You know, you're the first person whose given it a try." To be honest, she was surprised he hadn't melted. Thankful, almost; when they weren't arguing, he didn't seem like that bad of a guy. "Thanks. You smell nice, too. No doubt the girls will be all over you," she promised with a wink. Either all over him or totally confused as to why he smelled like another woman.

Natron sniffed, and to his surprise, found he actually liked the smell of the perfume she carried. It wasn,t totally overbearing or disgustingly sweet, which was nice, and he didn't feel entirely stupid wearing it.
"Nope, not bad at all," he admitted. "Am I really?" He wondered if she'd offered to anyone else. Maybe they'd figured it wouldn't work or something, but dang that stuff smelled nice. He looked genuinely embarrassed at the idea of girls flocking to him. "I, uh, there's really only one girl..." Oh god had he just said that out loud to a Knight? Sure, it was one thing for him and Toutatis to be well-known as a couple within the Negaverse or the Dark Mirror Court, but did he really want the other side knowing?
Oh well, it was out.

"Oooohhh," Aventine cooed, grin flickering to her face. "That's sweet. Who is she? One of your own? Or are we talking about underneath the mask and all that jazz?"
Aventine would have to admit that this was a far nicer conversation than aliens and intruders—and hell, when he was chatting like this, the Negaverse didn't seem so bad. They were people too, underneath all that…weird. And while she wasn't so keen to admit that the Negaverse might not be wrong, more than that she would never admit that she was in the wrong. But there was hope there, right? If he had fallen for a girl, then maybe the Negaverse wasn't as evil as they were painted to be.

Natronflushed and awkwardly scuffed his feet. Aliens, conspiracies, maybe even winning her over to the Negaverse? Easy. Talking about his girlfriend? Also easy, but slightly more awkward.
"She's, ah, a Dark Mirror, so sort of one of ours? I mean, the Negaverse and the Court are allies but they're not, you know, actually Negaversers and...I'm going to stop babbling now." He coughed. "Anyway, she's great."
He considered himself lucky to have shut up. He could talk about Toutatis plenty, though he wasn't aware that the Dark Mirror had a less than friendly stance on Knights, since it was sort of something that never came up.

"Ooohh," Aventine cooed again, still thinking him adorable. "If that isn't just the sweetest thing." As long as his girlfriend wasn't some crazy psycho b***h it was adorable. Her experiences with the Dark Mirror Court were currently fifty-fifty, so it was hit or miss. She preferred to think of the girl as some charming, yet obviously mislead little thing who one day would realize that the cult she was in wasn't doing her any favors and would dash over to the right side, but—hey. She could afford to be a dreamer.
"Well, I hope things work out with you and her. I suppose I ought to go before she shows up and wants to know what I'm doing with her man, so I think I can handle heading out now. It was nice meeting you, you know. Once we got done with all that alien stuff. I'll keep my eyes and ears open until I figure out what exactly is going on, but until then, you take care of yourself. I look forward to another debate. And hearing more about this girlfriend of yours," she added with a laugh.
