She was a little nervous, but she had made it all the way to here.

The soft caramel coloured lioness waited her turn, watching a strange mirror set walk up to the large tattooed male, before throwing their items in to the fire. She hoped that it would help her towards her future home, having met the two brothers of the Shadow Clan at it's border had really made the lioness want it to be her home. They were . . . intimidating, but she had accepted them. She had accepted this. This was home.

Clearing her throat, she bowed her head until it nearly touched her paws. "I am Nawiri, a lioness of afar." She spoke out. "I hope to find my roots again here." She finished, before offering up the ground from her home, hoping that the burning earth before her would help her break away from what she was, and help her find what she will be.

Skan's eyes darkened a little as he saw the next lioness approach. She didn't look entirely healthy, and though he knew that it would be quick work to fix that within the Ela'wadiyi, it didn't necessarily mean she would be healed emotionally and spiritually. Still, he did not feel like it was the time or place to address that, so he merely nodded when she approached and greeted her.

"Your home is here," he said in a reassuring tone, taking the offerings and placing them gently on the pile. He mixed in a few more herbs, knowing that this would be an important reading, maybe a bit moreso than the previous ones.

"IonĂșin. You will find solace within the Mantis Clan. Go, mingle with those that are now part of your extended family."

He couldn't help but noticed that the male that approached him next had been spending time next to a lioness, and more than he thought was just friendly. He knew that the two of them were something, though Skan didn't have the opportunity to find out just how much. Still...he knew better than to ignore his hunches. His Sight worked in strange ways at times, and he wasn't going to question it.

"Tabbris. I see you with her...you are to be together, though by what way I do not see clearly yet. Korofi Shujaa..." Their offerings burned up in the fire, but he saw enough that he was confident it was correct.

"The two of you are to be in the Sky Clan, together. Go, and become part of us, the Ela'wadiyi."

The petite Ciqala had lingered, his green eyes watching as, one by one, lions of all backgrounds, ages, and colors began to approach Skan. He had found the Ela'wadiyi by pure chance, and it had beckoned him to stay. A new home, a new pride. . . . Anxiety gripped him, a worry and fear that he might someday lose another home, just as he had his previous pride. . . . and yet, no.

He swallowed.

He swallowed again.

No, he would not bring such negativity here. This is where the spirits had guided his paws, and this was where he would now devote himself. He might no longer be a ghost, but he had strength, skills, and was willing to work so that the pride, and whatever Clan he might be blessed in to, would flourish and thrive. This was a new start for him, and he was finally ready to be welcomed home.

Stepping forward, the small lion offered a shy, almost awkward bow toward Skan. "My name is Ciqala, and I am honored to be accepted in to your pride. I am ready for a new home, ready to work for a new kind of family." For all his siblings, his blood, his lineage that had been lost to him . .. scattered about the rogue lands. There were new ties to be made, here, among his new kin.

He offered the other lion his gifts -- tufts of fur, and a small stone to represent his life in the rogue lands. He was ready to burn away the ghost of his past, and ready to begin anew.

Yuma'li, on the other paw, had waited quietly near the back. She had never joined a pride before, and was both proud and anxious of this new beginning. Some of the lions around her looked so young, so bright and hopeful. She was older than many (or so she assumed), but she had been drawn towards the pride and its promise of peace. She was an outsider. . . but they had let her in.

There would be no judgement here.
There would be no abandonment due to her flaws, due to her . . inabilities, her shortcomings, her ugliness.
She could devote herself to the Ela'wadiyi without fear of the rogue lands, of the strangers, of the threats being outside and alone.

No, she mused, as she stepped forward, this would be good for her. This would be a new beginning, a new change she wanted to embrace. Bowing low, the older female offered a small smile. "I'm Yuma'li." She wanted to say more, but didn't dare disturb the other. This was a ritual, and she did not wish to take up more of the others time than was necessary.

So it was, she offered him a large tuft of her brown fur. The fur that she both loved and despised, the coat that she saw both its strengths as well as its failures. But that was not to be thought about, not here. No, this was a new beginning, and the older lioness was ready and willing to embrace the change.

Slowly the lions before him stepped forward, each handing over their offering and in turn receiving what clan they were to become a part of. Just as slowly he made his way closer to the front, until finally he was able to step forth from the crowd to present himself to Skan Kanati.

Erebos moved forward, pulling away a bit of fur from his mane as he went. He placed the tuft before the Wanidatsi and took a step back. "I am Erebos." He spoke, voice calm despite the bit of anxiety rising within him about finding out which clan held his future.

(mixing you two together as well since it sounds like they're mates before this)

Skan was a little amused that the next oens to approach him were a pair as well. It sort of reminded him of his time before he had married Muujiza. Who would have known that one of the few lions that disliked ex-rogues would end up marrying one? It warmed him a little to see couples, as silly as it felt.

"Welcome, you two," he said, noticing that they were each ready and willing to face him spearately, but he knew that it would be better to keep them together. It just....flowed better. He accepted both of their offerings, mixing the two together before letting them fall onto the small open flame. It consumed the offering happily, and Skan smiled slightly as he read into their future, what little he could See.

"Urzlan...Aarazthoorus...the two of you are to live within the Earth Clan."

Hadar had never thought of joining a pride, beyond the one his mother had settled in. He had never expected to meet...her, though. The pale-eyed browny-orange lioness that had captivated him and ignited his curiosity and protectiveness. His dreams had finally led him to this choice...

And he approached the leader of the pride with a muddled bit of fur: a little from every different color on his body. "My name is Hadar, sir. And I seek to join this pride, this family." He wanted to call this place home.

Skan watched the previous couple leave, and he was curious to see who would approach next. It seemed like the waiting crowd was slowly diminishing, and it seemed like everyone else was beginning to look forward to their placement within the pride. He was glad, even if he was getting a little tired. He glanced over to see Muujiza off with the cubs in the Cloud Ceremony, glad that she was keeping busy while he was doing his duties.

The next lioness that approached was a polite one, and she spoke just a touch differently than some of the other rogues had. Her offering was interesting as well, as earth was usually used to diminish the fire. He sprinkled the earth along the flames, letting it gather up its strength as the smoke thickened. It was interesting, the information that he was getting. He knew that there were echos of offerings from earlier, but it was hard to ignore where Nawiri was to go.

"You are to be within the Shadow Clan, Nawiri. I welcome you to our home, where your paws will grace a different type of earth."

Kuon was watching all the lions that had stepped forward before him, quietly waiting his chance as he listened to the words of the Wanidatsi. He eyed the pale lion’s tattoos with interest, curiously wondering which clan he would soon join. He didn’t really have a strong preference but he supposed he’d rather to join one that sounded cool. Like the Shadow clan, that sounded really cool.

When he felt it was his turn, Kuon took a few steps forward after one more lion had given his name and provided an offering, proudly closing the distance between himself and the Wanidatsi and deposited his offerings at the lion’s paws.

“My name is Kuon.” He said with a smile, bright eyes filled with youthful excitement. “I bring a lock of my mane and red stone I found during my travels.” Truthfully, he was quite fond of the little red gem and he’d once thought about turning it into a pendant. But he wanted his offering to be meaningful and he’d decided the day before to give the red stone during the ceremony. Now though, he was starting to think that might’ve not have been the best idea
maybe a red feather would’ve been a more suitable choice, at least that would burn nicely.

Hakizimana was nervous as he could possibly be. He had never seen this many lions in one place before, and even though the atmosphere was welcoming, his stomach couldn't help doing turns. The young lion couldn't stop thinking about the family he left behind; the family he had begged to come with him. His big brother explained to him about different destinies, and even though Roho had been smiling, he had never seen his brother so sad.

The separation had been bitter sweet, but he knew this was the right choice. Kizi needed this. He wanted to be here with these tattooed lions, in a new family. So, despite his nerves, he was smiling.

When it came time for him to step forward, he did so with gusto. "My name is Hakizimana." He bowed his head, as his brother had taught him, in a sign of respect. "I have brought my older brother's earring. He told me it would bring me good luck, and I believe it already has." He spoke with a little smile. This was his brother Abrafo's bone earring; the one he had kept since he was a cub. It meant something to the older lion, something Kizi would never begin to understand. When he had passed it on to Kizi it felt wrong, as if he should never have touched it, but now he knew what it was meant for.

Skan was largely part of the old blood, and so he was smaller than most of the ex-rogues and their rogue-blooded offspring, so he was a little surprised to see a rogue that was smaller than most of them. He nodded towards this lion, this Ciqala, understanding that he was ready for this new stage in his life.

Accepting the offering, he let the offering burn. The fur burned quickly enough, and though the stone would not be able to burn, it charred as the flames licked around it, burning off whatever had been stuck to the surface of it. Enough would burn off to be read, and the stone would keep the heat going within the pile of herbs and burned offerings.

"Ciqala...your new home that you seek is in the Earth Clan."

Myrina watched as the fur and feather burned slowly in the fire. The ashes flew up into the sky towards the heavens before disappearing into nothing. She turned back to the leader in time to hear which clan she had been placed. Shadow huh? Sounded interesting enough. Sorta dark and she hoped it wasn't a scary place to dwell. She bowed her head in acknowledgement, "Thank you." Then she moved back into the crowd to watch the rest of the festivities.

He was getting nervous as he watched the leader stare at him and answered his question in almost monosyllables. Then he heard where he would be placed. "Bird huh?" He looked around trying to spot where his clan was located. Xan backed up almost tripping over his feet. "Neat, sounds interesting. Guess... I'll go over there then and interact with the others!" He paused to turn around paw scratching at his ear; a nervous gesture when it came to authority. "Um, thanks."

Skan lightly brushed his paw against the pile as the flames died down, inhaling deeply as he bushed on a few more herbs. He wasn't quite running low, but there was a signifigant lowering of the spare pile he had started with. Next year, he needed to be a little better prepared. More herbs would be needed as more roots took place.

Speaking of roots...the female that approached next had strange markings that reminded him of tree roots. So organic and natural, it was so....fitting.

He burned her offering, his eyes going from the smoke to the female's form. She seemed a little quiet, but he would do his best to pass no judgements. This was a renewal.

"Yuma'li. You're offering has been burned, and I've read what it has told me. Your home is to be within the Mantis Clan."

Yin-Bug

It was time. Was she really going to do this? Was she ready? There was a nervous quivering in her belly and, in an uncharacteristic show of open affection, leaned briefly against her counterpart: Ceyx.

They had both agreed that they couldn't keep wandering forever. She had spent her life as a scruffy scavenger, going from one disappointment to the next. Travelling had been hard on her and she looked worn, Her fur was dull and had patches of tangles. Her eyes looked tired, too. She was a female who had survived much in her time. Someone who looked older than her years. Rogue life was not for her. Not any more. And this place...

This place was right, even if she did feel scared about committing. It was fear of what might go wrong. A fear that it would all fall apart like everything else she had ever known and done. But, Ka'ohu had always been stubborn and she wasn't going to let this get the better of her. Giving her companion a sharp nudge, she got to her paws and stepped forwards. "M'name is Ka'ohu." She called out in her slightly gruff voice. And she had nothing but the fur on her back to offer. No trinkets. No earthly possessions. It was not extravagant, not original, but it was symbolic. She was casting her old self and old life into the flames to start again. She craned back her head and plucked a mouthful of hair from her shoulder, then tossed it onto the flames.

The smoke curled up. It was done.
