"There is only evil in action,

Lady Liliana of Ernya, Sage Elementalist

Liliana smiled as she heard a faint laughter. "I'm glad you agree. We can start heading now and speak more along the way." Clicking her tongue, the horse obediently trotted back up to her and waited for her to mount. Liliana swung up, using her speed rather than her meager strength to get herself across the creature's back. Moving over, she offered Coyote a hand of helping to get her up. "We're not too far from the Wormwood and Ernya border. We'd be able to make it by late afternoon and reach the capital just after dark."

Coyote idly watched the Lady mount her steed, smiling faintly at the luck that was on her side. Who would imagine that she would find a Seer just off the border between Wormwood and the Devil's Eye Desert? Then again, she never questioned luck, coincidences, or karma; all of it came into play and she accepted and used it as it came to her. After all, she found more familiarity within the planes of unseen forces than the physical world, why would this situation not make sense when it was clearly destined to happen?

As Liliana held her hand out, Coyote paused for a moment, thinking over every situation that could happen. But the moment was short and she firmly grasped the Elementalist's hand and hoisted herself onto the horse's back. "I have never been to Ernya," she spoke almost disinterestedly.

Liliana nudged the horse forward, going at an easy and steady pace. "You will enjoy the capital, Veriglen. It was designed with me in mind. So every structure is made to retain energy. The retained energy does cast outward, making every structure visible to the eyes of a Seer," she explained as they traveled along. "Ernya itself is full of energy, being a land so rich in life. It's been a long time since I wasn't skilled enough to see the natural energy inherent of nature. But, in time, you'll be at that level as well."

The idea of a city where she could see every building was something Coyote could not imagine. Buildings have always been a cold, invisible force. Usually, she had a general idea where they were from just "feeling", both physically and just the sense that all creatures had when it came to towering forms. She wondered about what Liliana said and shook her head slowly. "So, you can teach me about being a Seer? I would also like to focus on my Monk abilities as well." Not only did Coyote focus on extending her mind, but also her body; having both in top shape would let her live a healthy life.

The horse picked its way forward as Coyote spoke. Liliana nodded. "I can teach you the ways of both Seer and Monk. I am not a monk myself, but I know all that which an old friend once knew about being a monk." Her voice held a hint of sadness but Coyote wouldn't be able to feel at all.

"Fear is not as simple as you think."

Avandis continued on his trek, Nokomis still on his back as he went through the marshes. He continued on through the marshes, hopefully with Mimosa behind him. "We're leaving, not stopping until we get out of the swamp. Come or not Mimosa, it's up to you to decide right now." Even as he spoke to her though, he didn't stop moving. For all he knew, the clerics and paladins would be on their way once more. They could be tracked still, there were people that can do those things, so they needed out, now.

?••••?••••?••••?••••?

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."

"Nokomis, that's all." The vampire spoke to correct the woman in which she righted herself to stand only to lean against a tree in a weakened state. Again the cursed thirst gnawed at her as the dreary pangs of fatigue lashed at her. Breathing steadily, she allowed herself to lower to the ground until she was sitting with eyes closed to relax. The man with the odd presence wanted to leave, the woman wanted her assistance.

What folly.

Nokomis disliked helping others rather than herself but the situation called for something else. Her senses clouded and vision, blurred it was certain death would soon meet her. "Just... Nokomis is fine" She said in a daze as she overheard the woman speak and cracked a single eye open, seeing her bow like some knight to a king. Mannerisms like that would not suit her, even if she was once a noble lady.

Was she startled or just afraid of her? A few observations came from the two during the short escape so far from the village. In her muddled mind she thought on how opposite the two seemed to be, the man was something that she disliked for his very nature just pushed over her senses like a battering ram. The woman seemed more childish in a mature kind of way, she liked her if she were what Nokomis thought she was.

I cannot reveal my true nature to them, it's bad enough I warped through the void. Bah, I would kill them if I could... I should have never have gotten involved, now they will be seeking me as well. Nokomis let out a breath of air from her nose as she sat forward. If they weren't already, I was close to finding that snake, to rid this world of another Byron's descendants.

"I am a creature whom nourishes off of blood, so yes I am a vampire. If you were a threat to me or only a burden, I would not concern myself with either of you." Nokomis said, saying only the partial truth of how she really felt. There still was that feeling of slaughtering them like cattle, but the situation called otherwise. For the time being, they were... assets. She looked at the cleric, still with the fatigued look.

"So it is bribing for my life, is it? Leave it for a human to gamble another's life to benefit their own. Even if it were to be mine." Nokomis said coldly but with a slight smile, the woman wouldn't see her offer as such, but to Nokomis it was the same thing. "I can assist you, but I must be in full power in order to do so. And even then my dear, there is very little I can do without a destination, without prior knowledge of where to go."

"Traveling like that is more taxing to me, requires more focus and coordination. To blindly run into the shadow, one can easily become lost and swallowed into damnation." Nokomis explained vaguely as possible about her transporting ability. Firstly she had to remember or have very good detail in order to shadowstep. When going through the shadow, her form may be intangible but that darkness had a mind of its own. One she best not anger for it gifted her this... body in her time of near-death.

"But I can help you, but I can only use my... ability in short distances (within the thread). Granted I get a vantage point to see a destination." Nokomis cringed then as the pain of not feeding bit at her, wrenching at her stomach as she went into a coughing fit. "Gods, I accept your blasted assistance, only to save my own life." Nokomis hissed as she disliked the situation she was in and heavily cursed her honor she always upheld in the end. To think her life was now literally in her hands, she would need to comply. Instead she kept her anxiety to a minimum and not to let that fear show of death itself. There was much to be done and she would not accept that fate yet, not until all of the vermin that ruined her were gone from Rykros.

"If I suspect that my trust is to be betrayed... I will leave you to your 'friends' and if you still live after that, I will hunt you down myself." Nokomis stated her terms as she looked the cleric dead in the eye, staring at her very spirit and taking in the scent. Her soul was memorized, marked to the vampire as she made drew on her sensing power then as it was a lot more prominent than even the man who was nearby. She was marked, to make it easy to hunt her if her trust was betrayed. From a life of hunting and hiding, the vampire was very paranoid. However the mark would only be complete should she keep her focus, she would have to maintain this connection to her in order to mark it.

"Now please, if you wish me to help, I must feed. I recommend that you think of something other than sticking your hand nearby my mouth. I fear that I may not control myself." Nokomis shook her head, it was the truth anyways, but she needed blood. Badly.

Soul Sense
Rank E/Passive
A trademark skill of all Dark Avengers, Soul Sense grants them the ability to sense all souls in their visible vicinity. Soul Sense shows a Dark Avenger each soul's distinctive characteristics -it's color, aura, size and power. Soul Sense reveals a character's Primary Element, and their Rank to the Dark Avenger. At the rank of Master, Soul Sense extends to a Dark Avenger's sense of smell and spans the breadth of a nation. This ability cannot be used to determine the health of a character, as the soul remains intact until it fades away completely.

Soul Mark
Rank E/Active
By focusing on a creature that he/she can sense in the area for 2 posts, a Dark Avenger can mark their soul, enabling the Dark Avenger to track them with ease. Once a soul is marked, a Dark Avenger can see it through walls and sense its location over great distances. By the rank of Master, a Dark Avenger needs only focus on their Mark for one post to see it anywhere on Rykros. This skill requires no energy. Only one Soul Mark is permitted at any given time, and Marking another soul while a Mark is currently active replaces the old mark with the new.

"There is only evil in action,

Lady Liliana of Ernya, Sage Elementalist

Liliana saw the energies from the travelers on the road before the sound of them reached the ears of the two seers. Urging the horse faster, they quickly came upon the group. Her eyes scanned over them, gathering the information about them. And how dangerous it would be for them here. "Coyote, we need to help these people. Quickly, dismount. I have a better way to get all of out of here." Liliana moved towards the group. "You three. You're in grave danger here. I can get you to a safe place quickly if you can just trust me." Her milky eyes fell on Nokomis. "Nokomis, come here and I can help you with your problem." Liliana rolled up the sleeve of her robe, exposing the swirling patterns left by the mark of Fire and her unmarked skin. "You will not harm me. I can heal myself from what you need to do."

Avandis didn't like the idea of stopping, not one bit, not in the least. He simply wanted to get out of this damn place, and then deal with whatever else. Avandis was getting a bit annoyed, most of what everyone was saying was going in one ear and then bouncing around his mind as annoying gibberish. Then more people came in. He set Nokomis down and then walks off to a nearby tree. Leaning against it, he waited for whatever they were doing to be finished. He was not amused anymore, he was more annoyed than anything.

?••••?••••?••••?••••?

"I linger in the night, a servant to no one but myself."

Nokomis paused as her concentration was broken as one or two more presences entered her field of sensing. Is that them? The vampire blinked as two riders(?) came on horses sporting not very casual wear. Or was that the norm in this era? She was alert, but was very much too weak to even clutch her saber.

Seems fate caught up-- No. They're not hostile... But at this rate I am going to be knee-deep in debt. She mentally sighed and looked to the cleric with a less stern gaze for once. The vampire at last noticed how shaken or uneasy she seemed till she felt around her mouth. No wonder. I forgot to clean the blood off. It's only rabbit blood though.

Nokomis glanced over to the new, cloudy eyed woman who had arrived and offered help as she approached the motley crew. Speaking of a safe place, where would there be a safe place for an abomination of nature such as herself? Inwardly she sighed and blinked, catching the gaze of this one as she felt uneasy. She didn't think it was the man as he left the area, kinda, and her senses were a bit more clear. There was nothing human there, only the overwhelming presence of his that muddled her thoughts.

Eyes like clouds that could see much more than they lead on, this woman even knew her chosen name. It didn't bother her as much, knowing at least this one didn't speak her true birth name. Yet it had an eerie air to it, was she aware of her and how had she discern her problem by offering to help when rolling up the sleeve. Many of these things spoke alarms but, trust was such a fickle thing to give and to do. Paranoia, every bit screamed and hollered 'don't' and 'no, it's a trap'. The very fibers of her being didn't want to trust this one.

Cloudy eyes, like a blind man yet walking like she sees all. Knowing my name... Very few I encountered that knew this much just so much as a glance. Nokomis cringed as her body rebelled against her. A seer. The mysterious people who saw time's flow and the past of man. There were very few she had ever encountered, one even dubbed her as the 'wraith of hanging ghosts' for the memories of slaughtering the ones who made her as so.

Reluctantly Nokomis stood, shaky but she stood up and held balance with her sheathed saber as sort of make-shift walking stick. She stared at this woman whom had evidence of a seer's qualities, those she didn't like too well as they could read her past and learn of her. Her allegiance, family, likes, dislikes, the hate that still boiled under her stoic face.

Standing there before the woman, Nokomis bared her fangs when she opened her mouth slightly, like a cat hissing at something. She didn't have any hostile intention however as she looked at the arm she exposed an arm with red spiraling marks. The vampire still had disliked this but she wasn't overly proud like many others of her kind. When help's offered, she'll take it and most often repay it back. Yet this was equal to saving her very life... No. She could not stray from her life's path, for it would be damnation.

"I only have suspicion, but if you are what you are, I warn that you may not like what you may see in me." Nokomis said as she cursed herself, spat swears and foul things of every language she knew in her mind. The hate of being in debt raged like hell, the fates were cruel indeed. Oh so very cruel. The vampire clasped the woman's arm and bent her head down while bearing her fangs. Biting down down to draw blood, she took it into her own body like water. Slowly her strength regained, fueling her body and cleansing her of this fatigue once more. Nokomis pulled away to quell her urge to feed more and made a loud gasp.

She stepped away, renewed and no longer weakened. The vampire's strained face was no more as she wasn't pale as well. Swiping a cloth over the bloodied face, it cleaned off her face and she looked to the woman still with uncertainty. "There's little choice but to trust you. I doubt there is anywhere safe for my kind though." She said and reclipped her saber back onto her belt opposite of her shorter blade.

"Hmph... I have agreed to the girl's terms and I've taken your offer of help. I'm in debt to you both." She mused to herself.

(( So, what's the time of day now? ._. Under the assumption it's morning? ))

Coyote listened calmly, closing her eyes contently as the horse wandered forward. She lightly pulled back a hair from her face that was brushing against her cheek, but other than this simple gesture, she hardly seemed to move. Instead, she extended her senses to the world around them, enjoying the sounds--not so much the smell--of the strange swamp around them. It was so much different than the dry desert. The air itself was saturated with moisture. If she wasn't careful, she was afraid she'd catch a cold.

"Excellent," the Seer replied, her skin prickling with excitement at the thought of already diving into her training. It seemed to convenient for her to find a teacher just as she stepped out of her Nation, but then again, her new tutor was also a Seer. Since the Monk herself was a firm believer in energy outside the physical realm, she considered the possibility that maybe some lucky magic decided to spin a web between the two of them. Either way, Coyote knew for sure things would get interesting.

The ride was short lived, however, as the sounds of three travelers radiated from somewhere in front of them. She straightened herself up from her slouch, blinking and clearing her vision so that she could clearly see the three energy forms that matched the sounds. Their voices, though spoken with voices only meant to carry between them, easily reached Coyote's ears as she eavesdropped on the conversation without remorse. What a curious situation... she mused quietly in her mind, amused to find they were holding around the same energy the Seer herself had.

Even as she noticed the small group, Liliana urged their steed forward to meet the three of them. At her statement, the young Monk hopped off the mare's back with all the ease of a trained body. She straightened herself and stood near the horse, simply content to watch the situation for the moment being. Her milky eyes drifted over to Avandis, watching him curiously. Being blind, her sight rested on his chest more-so than his face, but her expression suggested she wasn't just idly observing, as one would when they avoid someone's face in fear of their gaze being felt. A Nightmare... How interesting.

However, Coyote pulled her gaze from the young man to the vampire. From her position behind Liliana, she was not noticed and it suited her quite nicely. She was content to watch, the energy between the Seer and the Vampire was fluctuating and telling her much more than normal sight would. Her pink eyes slowly traced over the vampire's figure and she smiled slightly at her words. What a fun bunch of travelers.

"A woman of honor is well met among these strangers," Coyote finally spoke up, her words carrying a lazy tone but she seemed very focused and interested. "You are certainly a dark bunch of strangers, aren't you...? Void worshipers and Nightmare... What are you running from?" As she conversed, she had stepped forward until she stood next to the taller figure of Liliana, curiously leaning forward to examine the Cleric who stood off to the side.
