I think it's mostly the fun, easy dance that made it famous. It's exactly like the Macarena, the second you hear it you know you gotta dance and you know exactly how to dance.

it just annoys me to be honest....like you don't know what they're saying...they could be singing about who knows what. It's just....eh...no. not to mention the airheads at my school pretty much ruined it for me anyway.

Count me in with the haters, lol. It's slightly catchy but it's definitely ran its course. Plus, in my opinion, the dance is totally lame.
