"Thanks," Roch said with a grin as he started back for campus. "It's gonna be a... monument, of sorts," he admitted as they walked. "For my uncle. I dunno if you were there f'r the trance thing, where we saw everybody die... but he was one of them. Him an' his ghoulfriend. An' it ain't like I can talk t'him... but it'd be cool to have somethin' I can talk AT, y'know? Which sounds pathetic, but..."

He shrugged. "I just think... it's the least I can do, y'see?" The library loomed in the distance and he headed for it, glancing around to make sure no one was watching too closely.

"Oh," Roch said. He frowned slightly as he remembered his own past--that moment with the ghost boils that had trapped him in the well--

"Nobody t'adopt you, either, huh?" he asked the dog boil quietly. "I guess it's best y'came to school, then." He stopped as he reached the spot he'd been thinking about and put the tree down. "Right about here? Not too close t'the building, if it's gonna be as big as the one we found."

It was a small section a good twenty feet away from the wall, and it was overgrown with weeds. That made him think nobody would mind.

Roch picked up the tree--and moved so he was in front of the dog boil. He hadn't spent much time in the wild, but he wasn't completely stupid. He knew what direction the dirt would fly. Patiently he waited for the dog boil to dig, absently looking at the tree curiously.

He wondered if he should tell the others. Maybe they would want to leave things here, too...

Try it? It was a hole. Roch managed not to say anything, because it'd already been established that Nuru knew a heck of a lot more than he did. Instead he moved forward with the tree, placing it in the middle of the hole. "Like that?" he asked, not certain he was doing it right. Heck, he hadn't been certain he was doing it right from the very beginning.

Roch got hit. He was intent on it being as straight up as he could get it--so he'd have to get a shower later, he thought reluctantly as the tree stabilized and he could let go. "Um... we need water, right?" he asked. "I'm gonna haveta get a bucket or something..."

Waterballoons probably weren't going to do it, were they. Well he could probably find a hose if he looked hard enough, right? He looked around, absently wiping the dirt off of his clothes.

Roch was already walking to the library, staring at the wall towards the ground. "They might... have a water attachment around here..." he said, walking along the side of the wall. "Y'know, in case there's a fire or somethin," he added. Then he stopped. "Think I found it," he said, crouching down and pulling the weeds away.

"Now I'm gonna go get a hose from the garden," he said, running off.

Roch came back a few moments later, his hose looped over his shoulder. "Got one!" he said cheerfully, heading for the building to hook it up. Then he brought the hose over, laying it at the base of the tree. "So... how much water?" he asked the dog boil.

"Sounds good," Roch said, jogging to the building and turning it on. This looked as if it would be a day long thing.
