Izy said, sounding intrigued.
"But I really don't feel that bad," Syd said, frowning as she dropped down on her towel and reached for her bag of food. "I mean, have I done anything too shocking?" she asked him curiously. "Here's a sandwich!" she added, holding one out to him with a brilliant smile. "Do you like chips or cheese puffs better? And I've got berry berry and apple juice," she went on, digging out her packs of juice boxes.
What? She LIKED juice boxes. They were one of her little pleasures in this bloody life crying

"Shocking? No.. just.. nevermind." There was no reason to reason with her in this state. He knew that well. He huffed and squatted across from her, taking the offered sandwich.
Geez.. she was crazy bubbly. Otto was getting tired just being in her presence.
"Uh... chips.... and apple juice." Otto actually liked the juice boxes too, honestly.

She handed him what he wanted and started eating her own lunch, looking for all the world as if this was the MOST PERFECT PICNIC EVAR. Which, as far as she was concerned, it was!
"What color rose did you get?" she asked abruptly, deciding it was a great question. "Was it bright pink, too? Did they even come in different colors?" she added, curiously. "I wonder how many other people got them..."

Well. This wasn't so bad. Warm tropical day, a swim and now lunch? Maybe he had less reason to be grumpy. "Light.. pink.. I think." Otto replied with a mouthful of sandwich. He swallowed it down before speaking more. "Uuh.. I know a couple others did... I won't name names. Their business, not mine."

"But you could tell me what colors the roses were!" she said, smiling wildly. "I want to picture Melvin wandering the halls handing out strange colored roses to everyone. It just seems... amusing." Hysterical even. She could picture the blonde hunter being so careful not to touch the roses--they might be carrying strange diseases, they WERE grown outside, after all-- She started laughing. "I wish I could have seen it all!"

"I don't know what colour they were. I wasn't payin' attention to what he was holdin." Otto grumbled, taking another large bite of his sandwich. "But yeah, that dork holding a bunch of roses is pretty lame." He said with a brief smirk. He should have known those things were bogus to begin with, anyway. Secret admirer. Bah!

"I should have wondered why he was wearing gloves!" she said, breaking out in a laugh. Then she laid back on the towel, staring up at the sky. "It's so beautiful," she said. "Thank you for spending time with me, even if I'm acting strange," she told him with a little smile. "This sort of thing is even better when you're with a friend, don't you think?"

Otto narrowed his eyes as he turned his head up. What was so special about the sky? It was the same as ever. Oh right, she was high on Rose magic. He breathed an irritated sigh and turned his head down at the euphoric woman and her babbling. "Huh? Yeah, sure.." Friend? He barely knew her. Then again he tended to be hesitant to make friends with anyone. It was akward enough getting to know anyone, and he barely went out of his way to talk to others. It just felt.. unnatural. Might as well humour her. Until it became too much trouble, anyway.
