Marshmallows. It made him remember the prank he'd pulled on Hazel. He grinned briefly before pouring himself a good helping into his mug.
Otto's eyes widened. Eva does all those things! The boy seemed to turn a little red again. He tried not to get his hopes up, remembering Eva just seemed to be a touchy sort of person. Still.. he definitely felt like he was in the friend zone with her, despite all that.
Clerise's switch in body language surprised Otto, staring mostly at her chest before correcting where he should be looking, his gaze shifting to her face when she spoke. Right, she was teaching. What a way to teach, though. It made his little heart race for a moment.
"Right.. different.." He commented quietly, his eyes flicking back to his mug of cocoa. He nodded to her final point, blowing softly on the hot cocoa before taking a sip. It wasn't as if he'd never been with a girl before, but back then, he'd been in a different mind set.
Wait..
"Gah!" Otto ruffled his hair with a free hand. "Why the Hell am I actually considerin' this!? This is dumb!" His voice cracked a little.

"What's dumb?" She quirked a brow. "If you put her on a pedestal, then she becomes an object you idolise, not a woman you want."
She snapped. It may have been in the shape of a z. "Seriously. What's stopping you?"

Otto grimaced. "I don't want anything to get weird.." He grumbled. "And... well.. what if I make her uncomfortable?" Most times he didn't care if he pissed someone off, or made them feel uncomfortable. But Eva? He cared a lot what she thought.
Still, he felt like he was just a kid in her eyes. But she never did say so herself, so what right did he have to make up her mind on his own, right?
"I dunno if its worth messin up what we got."

"Weirdness only happens if you let it. Every girl's different, and Eva is, especially so." She took a sip of her cocoa, and plucked out puffed up marshmallows afterwards, before they disintegrated.
"If we were talking six months ago, I'd tell you not to be so attached." She smirked, but her red eyes were warm. "I don't have a leg to stand on, now. Maybe I'll be a good wingman and try to pry out of her if she fancies anyone~ No specifics~"
In fact, that was what she was going to do.
She poked Otto's side. "I have to get back to Miss Lady in a few. Think about it."

Otto listened, his gaze flicking to Clerise and back to his cocoa, taking a few big sips from it. It was so warm and soothing. Despite all the sugar in it, he was starting to feel sleepy.
"You'd do that..? Hm..." Otto wasn't sure if that made him a coward for wanting some intel before swooping in or not. Maybe that's what made him a good Death hunter, though. After all: Information was power.
Otto nodded softly, cradling the mug with both hands. "I'll give it some thought." He promised with a thoughtful expression.

"Sure," Clerise nodded. "Sates my curiosity either way." Life and Death were similar, in that regard. Knowledge was vital to their everyday lives.
"You do that." Draining her mug and setting it in the sink, Clerise gave Otto a quick hug. "If you want late night talks again," she reminded him, "just text me, okay?"

Otto seemed to curl into himself on instinct as she gave him a hug, his hands still gripping the mug of cocoa. He nodded lightly, icy gaze flicking to the side. "Yeah. I will." He promised quietly. If it was Clerise, he could do it.
