Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Romero understood Luis’ explanation for stunning rather than hurting it, but he stubbornly held to his own rationale. “If you decapitate the bloody thing, it won’t be able to use magic, period! And if it’s driven insane, then how would it be able to focus on casting its own spells?”
Then came the flash. Luckily, Venezuela had already been turned sideways when Elpis launched her ball of light, but even so, it still caused his vision to flare with distracting sunspots for many moments. He clung to his sword, still impaled in the base of the goat head’s neck, with both hands, blinking furiously to rid himself of those annoying sunspots. Such trifles were not welcome in any fight; much less this one!
Their target was also momentarily blinded by Elpis’ flash. Thoroughly infuriated now, the chimera opened its great lion’s maw and roared, conjuring up a horrendous gust of wind randomly in front of it that caused several large boulders to loosen themselves from the cave roof and blow backwards. The force of either wind or rock was enough to blow anyone in front of the beast onto their backs. Then it crouched low and bucked violently upward without warning, obviously intending to dislodge its unintended hitchhikers and throw them against the ceiling.
Both Romero and Luis were hurled off of the chimera’s back with the unexpected ferocity of the attack, and Venezuela was once again unarmed. It was a very irritated nation that charged at the beast again and leaped up, grabbing onto its fur, to retrieve his weapon…again.

Luis Esteban Salazar-CarriedoThe Timid Junior"Ack! This is why I'm retired from taming wild horse. I hate holding on for dear life!" Luis Esteban couldn't help but feel sick to his stomach when he saw Romero's sword impaling the goat's head. One slice and they no longer have to worry about magic. But suddenly, a flash of light took him by surprise. It slightly blinded him for a few seconds. Soon after, the chimera managed to get him off its back. He landed on the ground with a slam. "Ugh!" They still had to remove the goat's head, before it would unleash a magic attack. He grabbed his blade and ran tuward's it. In one atack, he was able to stab it right on his side, but not all the way through. It looks like he hit a rib.{ Translations:} (Out of Buenos Aires: ) Argentine Republic Republica de Argentina

~The Yellow Hammer State~ "Johnny Kane" Johnny, seeing his opportunity, did one of the most stupid, and dangerous things you'd expect an American Southern State to do.He ran in, and aimed the gun at the snakes maw at point blank range as it bore it's fangs once more."Eat buckshot serpentine beast!" He shouted as he pulled the trigger, releasing a mighty burst right into the snake's mouth. Luis Esteban Salazar-CarriedoThe Timid JuniorWith a grunt. Luis Esteban managed to pull his blade out the beast's side. The creature was slowing down, but barely. It seems it wasn't planning on giving up anytime soon. "maybe we should strike the legs!" it was all he could think of at the moment. If it's grouneded, they'll have the advantage. Of course, stabs won't be enough to put it down, maybe if they smashed the bones?{ Translations:} (Out of Buenos Aires: ) Argentine Republic Republica de Argentina

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Romero had hiked his way back up the chimera’s leg and onto its back, finding his task unexpectedly made much easier due to the fact that it was apparently too worn out from its blindly ineffectual roar to try bucking again. He had just regained his saber when he heard Luis suggest loudly that they all smash the behemoth’s legs.
“If you want to, then do it!” he shouted back. “I’m going to finish what I started, and Johnny—“ The North Atlantic nation’s voice trailed off as he watched Alabama, in an apparent move of sheer idiocy, charge right up to the snake tail’s maw and fire a powerful shot point-blank into its mouth.
“Qué en—?!” was all Romero could say before the shot connected and the snake recoiled violently, shrieking rather than hissing in pain, for its lower jaw had been snapped and was now listing grotesquely at an angle, revealing shattered ends of mandible and a thick, black, forked tongue. The attack, while impossibly stupid in its recklessness, certainly served its purpose—the snake, unable to close its mouth to build up enough venom to spit at Johnny, had been nullified, if not killed.
Unfortunately, the blow caused the entire chimera to heave under Romero’s feet; only by ramming his sword into the goat’s neck vertebrae was he able to stay on top. The goat squealed in pain and tried in vain to turn around far enough to engage him with its spells—failing that, it caught sight of Luis and lifted its head, opening its jaws wide to collect a glowing orb of terrible energy.
“Oh no you don’t!” Romero hollered. Yanking Bolivar’s blade out of its neck with sufficient force to make it squeal, the Venezuelan lunged around to its soft underside and stabbed forward, right into the goat’s larynx. As he had predicted, the organ was soft and relatively unprotected, and his blade sank clear through to the bony spine behind. The goat’s head let out a strangled cry of agony, and grimly, Romero leaned back and roughly rammed the blade in as far as it would go. The effort jarred him, but he was rewarded with the chilling sound of a shattering vertebral disc.
The Venezuelan quickly threw himself out of the way and tumbled into the lion’s mane to watch the goat’s head in its death spasms. He had rammed his blade in far enough to deprive it of air and it was already gasping frantically for the life-giving gas, its eyes bulging crazily. After several very long and tense moments of erratic spasm, the goat perished, its long snout drooping and lolling sideways, fixing Romero with a glassy stare.
Romero wasted no time in springing back up to his feet and running to his blade, which had kindly been exposed in the goat head’s death throes. He had already grown accustomed enough to the heaving of the chimera’s normal movement to not be pitched sideways as he tore the saber out of its vanquished prey. It came away with a disgusting squelching noise that Venezuela ignored as he leaped back down and landed on the same side of the cavern as Luis in a deep crouch.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Out of Caracas: This battle's lasted for four pages in my records without any severe damage being dealt to the chimera. Hence my decapitating it now.

Luis Esteban Salazar-CarriedoThe Timid Junior"M-Me?!" he gulped. Well, it'd make sense that he'd do it. After all, when it came to strength, he was their man. How else could he carry a heavy weapon with just one hand? Luis Esteban saw how Johnny managed to blow off the snake's jaw. it may no longer spit out poison, but those fangs are still venomous. One swift slash will take care of that problem. Before he could rush towards it, he froze when he saw a glowing orb charging up from the goat's head. "Oh no! Run, Luis, run!" The man was frozen in fear. But just then, Romero managed to stop the goat's head before it could unleash its attack. Feeling weak on the knees, Argen collapsed on the ground. he was just releaved that he didn't get hit. "Hermano... Saved me...."{ Translations:} (Out of Buenos Aires: well, we can each take one head down. Of course, the lion would be the most difficult part. ~The Yellow Hammer State~ "Johnny Kane" Alabama, seeing his job at least half done, stepped back and removed his book bag from his shoulder.Seeing the beast in rage and panic, he quickly removed a book from the pack. It's pages were old and tattered and yellowed with age, with writing in aged ink. Johnny opened the book, searching for a certain spell."Where is it? Where is it?" He asked no one in particular as he scoured the page. Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Seeing Luis’ rather obvious admiration at his handy takedown of the goat head, Romero couldn’t resist standing a little straighter and lifting his chin victoriously to stare down his nose at his brother. He frowned when Argentina collapsed on the ground and refused to budge. Clearly he was shaking with fearful relief, but now was not the time to be paralyzed by it! Only spineless nuns cowered like that when their lives were imperiled! Not men wielding steel!
A vein rose slightly in his temple as he regarded his cowering brother, who unfortunately reminded him very much of those spineless nuns. Then, suddenly angry again, Venezuela passed his saber to his left hand and knelt down. Retracting his right hand slowly, almost as if he were stretching, he suddenly launched it forward in another powerful slap. “Oye! Snap out of it, cobarde!’ he ordered. “If you’re going to follow us here with that espada giagante of yours, you better damn well use it! Muévete! Tenemos una quimera para vencer!”
Quite frankly, Romero was sick of his brother’s weaseling out of the tough fights. Luis’ home was three times as big as his and the largest home of the Spanish in the world, and yet he hadn’t even the courage to stand up for himself, let alone defend himself in battle? What was wrong with the boy? When Venezuela stood, he turned away and replaced his rapier in his right hand and rubbed his forehead with his left in an almost facepalming way. “Cobarde inutíl,” he muttered viciously. Glaring out of his lowered hand down to Argentina, he spat out a very pointed question: “Dónde está el soldado de San Martín? The brother who fought with me against España y Francia? If he is gone, then tell me so that I can take that sword and finish this myself!” Even if he couldn’t carry that claymore as well as Luis could, Romero had absolutely no problem with manhandling it to victory. The days had long passed since he had had a foe worthy of taking him on with both blades, and this behemoth they were currently being confronted with certainly looked like that foe. If Luis refused to stand up and remember his warmongering days, Romero would beat it into him after he killed this chimera.

~The Yellow Hammer State~ "Johnny Kane" "Aha~!!!" Bama cried triumphantly as he found the incantation he was looking for.He held the book in one arm and stretched an open palm out towards the chimera. He gave a short chant as a glowing orange ball formed in his hand.Moments after, the ball turned into a mass of roaring flames."Burn to a crisp!" Alabama shouted as he launched the ball at the snake of the chimera."Pyro Shotl!" He shouted as the flames struck the serpentine segment. Luis Esteban Salazar-CarriedoThe Timid JuniorThe Argentinian was still in a bit of shock after being almost attacked by that mighty blast. It was until his older brother slapped his face that he snapped out of it. Not only that, but he was calling him a coward and reminding him of who he used to be. He slowly got back on his feet "Si, hermano... I'm a coward... I don't need you to remind me." he picked up his heavy blade "That is who I used to be. But, it's not like I did it because I wanted to fight. I'm not like you or my brothers. I don't take joy in fighting." he held his weapon tightly "I may be scared right now, but.... I'm not afraid to face the beast that would threaten the people I care about. And I refuse to die here!" Something in him seemed to release some of the emotions he suppressed for a long time. "I will not rest, until you fall, foul beast!" he suddenly charged at the beast, holding his blade with both hands. In one sudden slash, he was able to cut off one of the chimera's front legs. Maybe that would slow it down, although slightly "I cannot die! There is something I still need to do!" he turned to his comrades "Let's show it what we can do!"{ Translations:} (Out of Buenos Aires: ) Argentine Republic Republica de Argentina

Sr. Romero ValentínRepública Bolivariana de Venezuela ☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆☆
Romero’s glare sharpened as Luis admitted openly that he was a coward, for that statement seemed to prove that there was no hope left for the boy. But when the Argentinean stood up and picked up his claymore, Venezuela was surprised, and his surprise only increased as Luis charged forward and swung violently at the chimera’s foreleg. He managed not only to injure the beast with his single strike, but he even hacked the limb cleanly off. The chimera roared in pain and surprise, toppling down on its freshly amputated limb as blood gushed out of the grievous wound.
Romero smiled tightly after he had gotten over the initial shock of seeing his cowardly brother suddenly stand up in their defense against the chimera. Finally, the boy had regained some backbone! Seeing the change for himself caused Venezuela’s respect for Argentina to skyrocket. “Esto!” he exclaimed proudly. “That’s more like it!”
When Luis rallied for everyone to unite and take down the behemoth, Romero was only too happy to lend his sword to the fight, but his reasons were no longer so singular. If he fought now, another South American would be at his side, even if only temporarily, and that was enough. “Vamos!” he yelled, adding his war cry to that of the others. Seeing that Luis was already running to the back left leg and Johnny was aiming at another leg, Romero crouched low and sprang as high as he could, landing easily onto the chimera’s badly listing shoulder. From there, he darted up its neck to the back of its head, looking for that vulnerable area between its axial vertebrae and its skull so that he could stab the beast right through its autonomous system and effectively suffocate it.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- Out of Caracas: I'm planning on stabbing it there, yes, but that will drive the chimera mad as it senses the pain and the loss of voluntary control of its lungs, Perhaps to kill it for good, everyone can aim at the 'fontanelle' and stab through that to the brain.

~The Yellow Hammer State~ "Johnny Kane" Johnny took aim for the beast's skull with the gun, and immediately squeezed the trigger. He ran in after the shot, getting a little closer, and aimed a shot at the ribs.Johnny repeatedly bombarded the creature from every side. Just when he was in front of the beast's snout, he ran out of ammo.Seeing it silly to waste a good, blunt object, he held it like a club and smacked the beast across the maw. When it's head recoiled, he took his bat from his side, and started beating it with both.Though he did practically nothing to the mighty monster, they were holding it off quite nicely."If one of you guys could kill this damned thing, that'd be pretty cool!" He called to Romero and Luis as he gave the beast another mighty bash to it's only foreleg. Southern Sass To The King's English Out of fried foods~: ~The Southern Gentleman Freshman~
