Ryan smirked at Yosuke. He was always so protective. It was humorous sometimes, enough to give him a hard time. Ryan loved provoking his friends, more so then the teachers. When he heard the boys name he nodded absently. He would have to remember that name for future reference. Letting out another yawn he tried to steer clear of that conversation. He didn't like asking for help nor would he ever do it, but just to end the conversation Ryan nodded. "it's cool. If I ever do need to you'll be the first I call." As if that would ever happen. Ryan had a reputation to hold up and he couldn't mess it up for a tin bit of a fight at home.

He stretched back in his seat and scowled at the news. He was going to have to knock someone down a peg. It sounded like Kira needed the body guard. "I'll kill her." Maybe set her home on fire or even her next class. Fire was his specialty after all. He looked around the lunchroom and sighed. "I hope she is alright." That was more truth then he ever had spoken. He hated it when good people got hurt. It wasn't fair or kind.

The last thought made him smile. He wasn't kind he didn't want to sound too hypocritical. "Aren't you supposed to be making sure that stuff doesn't happen?" Ryan glanced over at Yosuke. His real personality coming out. He felt the need to act off a little since he had been too kind. He'd been up for nearly half an hour and he still hadn't gotten in a fight, that wasn't right in his book. "Maybe you should look after her more often like you do your sister."

Kisami wisely hovered backwards a few inches as the vines stretched towards her. It had been a while since her last encounter with such...opponents, and she'd certainly learned a lot on how to deal with them since then, but...she would still rather not take the risk. She was glad as Cyan chose to retract the vines, but before she could speak, she felt a message from Takaya.

Do NOT harm her...She may be able to take you...Bring her to our side...

With mild irritation, she flippantly sent a message back on the winds Tell him, she said into a ball of wind gathered into her palm, that of course I wouldn't harm her, she's one of the few people I actually respect, I know perfectly well what she's capable of, and I would never be so stupid as to attack a potential ally without legitimate provocation. With love and reminders, your Lieutenant. She sent the ball of southern wind towards Takaya with a huff. Just because she was bloodthirsty didn't mean she lacked judgement. Sheesh.

Then again, she sort of did have a penchant for cutting people up first and asking questions later, Kisami giggled to herself.

You think I was a little harsh on him? she asked, turning back to Cyan with a grin.

Cyan smiled at her friends flippant attitude. Yep it was her alright, Cyan couldn't help but smile at her old friend, though friend seemed a very impractical word for what Kisami was to her. Considering Kisami looked just like she did back then, as Cyan was certain she did too.

"I have no idea what you mean by 'ally', but I do know that I'm not going to like the idea. But it is nice to see you again, Kisami. Not stirring up any old Spirits are we?" Cyan joked, remembering the last time Kisami had mistakenly fought a vengeful Spirit and nearly lost - but that was a very long time ago, almost to long ago. She watched her friend closely, keeping her distance, as usual.

Something told Cyan to be cautious. She could sense the Earth speaking of another Demon about the grounds, not wanting to get involved in anything dangerous or worse, Cyan backed away a few steps. I don't mind helping... but I don't help everyone! My powers only enhance and heal, I will not take life..." Cyan thought.

Cyan thought back to the last time someone had tried to use her in their petty battles. Because her power enhances those whom she connects with, it makes them almost incredible in battle. Her healing also is a desired trait also, because she can heal all but death itself without ever losing power unless doing both at the same time. She'd been nearly killed by a Demon Collector only twenty years ago. He'd come seeking to be one with Nature, but had stolen her away, tied and gagged, and blackmailing her until she was finally able to escape to freedom.

Closing her thoughts away, she blinked back her initial fear, but did not move closer to Kisami. "Kisami, it is nice to see a familiar face again, friend." Cyan's circlet began to glow a deep green again as Cyan whispered a small spell that wrapped itself around Kisami's body with a warm and welcoming embrace. "In your current state you are good for another six major battles and two hundred skirmishes. This will help you for a while. It's an elixir of health." A small vial suddenly appeared in the vines that hung above Cyan's head. "It will protect you from," Cyan looked at the vines of the tree then smiled with a smirk of mirthful enjoyment and endearment. "Old Spirits who have yet to take revenge...but the elixir will last only a short time, so use it wisely." Cyan smiled warmly...

'Yeah sure. Like hell he will.' Yosuke thought to himself. Putting the cap back on his water bottle, a very faint blue glow came from his headphones as he absent-mindedly created a mini-whirlpool inside the bottle. Yosuke had made his conductor somewhat different from all his friends, he put it inside a pair of headphones his parents had bought him years ago. He never took them off. Ever. Being the water elemental had its advantages. "Okay. How about you not kill some innocent non-elemental girl." He said sarcastically. "That'd be cool too."

He cringed when Ryan said that one little bit, for more than one reason. The whirlpool growing more aggressive in its little container. But, Yosuke could keep his cool. Not gonna let that d**k get the best of him. Nope."Yeah well. I've got five to keep track of as it is. Along with you. You have any idea how hard it is to clean up after you with your trail of fires and fights?" He said in a stressed voice. But...he felt a lot of regret over what had happened, and added "Look...I'll..I'll keep a closer eye on her. Not like you ever want to help me out or anything."

At lunch, Kira had hidden in the library. It was something she did when she wasn't hungry, when she was too stressed. No one ever thought to look for her there- between Shakespeare and Tolstoy, she was safe. Sitting in a corner where the shelves didn't quite meet the wall, she had all the sunlight she could want and more. Basking in the sunlight, reading a chapter from 'Howl's Moving Castle' she smiled. It was so quiet here, so peaceful.

But a hand on her ankle told her her peace was over. Dragged from the small space, that familiar face- the same girl as before. This time with more. She was pinned in the silent corner, drawn on with black marker from head to toe, the pages of her book torn and fed to her. "St-st-t-top! P-p-please!" Her stammering pleas falling on deaf ears and smothered out by cruel giggles.Their mocking tones mimicking her as they smacked gum. The final punishment was her glasses, ripped from her face and cracked in half. She began to cry. "P-p-pl-please... m-m-er-r...m-mercy. I b-beg y-y-you n-no m-more." And they left, taking her baby blue backpack and her violin bow with them.

Kira curled up in the corner. What had she done? Why- why were they so cruel to her? She rarely spoke, she caused no problems. What had she done? She held her broken glasses against her chest. He'd beat her for sure this time. She shook her head. Her strawberry hair falling over her, as her ponytail holder had snapper in her struggle. There was no one to save her or take her away. No Howl, no prince... those were just fairytales. She pressed her face into her palms and cried- she would hide here long after the bell would ring for return. Her seat would remain empty. She would wait until school was over before leaving.

Ryan couldn't help but push the topic a little further. He was one to keep his friends going. He had no boundary rules and no lines he didn't cross. Sure, he would kill for his friends but he also killed his friends' moods. "Stop worrying about what I do. I'm gonna fail anyway. I don't need a baby sitter." He hated it when Yosuke admitted to watching over him, but then again it was his personality. "focus on the others I don't need it."

He went back to fiddling with his necklace. This was exhausting just sitting and doing nothing. He itched for a fight. This was the exact thing Yosuke was talking about. "My fights and fires make people steer clear of us at least." It attracted attention to Ryan though. He was watched by a lot of people now and sometimes he enjoyed the publicity.

Looking at Yosuke he smirked, "Good. That's all I wanted to hear. You don't need my help watching anyone." He didn't offer his services easily. If it meant a. Fight he was in but if it didn't he usually hesitated. Ryan wasn't a bad guy by he wasn't exactly good either. More like he was out for himself most of the time.

Takaya felt a breeze and heard Kisami's message. Quite the smartass sometimes, but she did her work well. He felt no need to take any further action. There was something odd about her response though. 'Few people she actually respects? Knows perfectly well?' There was a relationship between the two, no doubt. He briefly pondered it, before dismissing such things. 'I can simply ask them when they return' Yosuke looked over the campus. Nothing much of interest was happening. Touching the blood on his thumb once more, he sent another message.

'You do a good job, O' Demon of the Wind.' He thought as sarcastically as possible. Wait, was that even a thing he could do? Send meta-physical messages sarcastically? Eh, sure. Why not? Takaya thought. 'I will be where we were when you have convinced her.'

Sitting down against the ledge, Takaya pulled out his book once again, and dove into where he left off.

"Yeah, and if you fail, I'm obligated to fail too. So I can kick your a** into shape for a whole year more, so you may as well just pass and get it over with." Yosuke smirked. He could do this back and forth all day. He held no shame over being the doting mother of his group. Someone had to keep everyone in check. "Sure, you may not need a baby-sitter. But you sure as hell need some freaky magic water dude to put out those fires."

"You remember that fire in the woods last year? Now, who put it out and made sure no firefighters or policemen could ever find out about it?" He sighed. Ryan's need for attention nearly drove him ragged sometimes.

Yosuke settled his water bottle and finished his food. "Yeah yeah. I swear I'm the only one who knows the definition of subtlety." He took one more swig and pocketed his half-drunk bottle. Never knew when he needed a bit of extra help in a pinch. "Look, I've gotta go to the library to study. STUDY. Do you know the meaning?" He said as he stood up.

It was good to see her again. Kisami grinned from ear to ear as she, too, recalled her fight with the ancient Spirit. "Only 200 skirmishes, huh," she said, accepting the vial and tucking it into her pocket. "Oh, and I totally planned on taking on the entire student body in a fight after school today. Whatever shall I do?" With a quiet giggle, she hovered around until she was sitting on a branch just above Cyan's head. She was supposed to talk with her, right?

I will be where we were when you have convinced her.

Convince her to join their fight? Convince her to join the fight...Cyan was as non-confrontational as they came. It would take a miracle for her to actually fight.

With a sigh, she tried to catch up with her friend. "Just so you know," she continued in a more serious tone, I've gotten much more powerful since last you saw me. My powers are much more developed. I can call on all four winds now!" She performed a quick demonstration, summoning a western wind that surrounded them with a healing aura, and a southern wind that brought a warm breeze. "I can summon the eastern wind, too, but those are the winds of death. I probably shouldn't do that right now. But I can do all sorts of other attacking magic, like wind blades and tornadoes--not that you would appreciate that, I'm sorry." She winced inwardly at how excited she'd gotten. She couldn't help it, though. This was her life. The fight was her life. She needed to win this battle in order to fulfill her purpose in life. And what was Cyan's purpose? It saddened Kisami to think that all Cyan did was hide from the world.

"Cyan, won't you join us? Think about it," Kisami suddenly implored, "what are you doing with your life. Hiding? In the shadows? We are demons, better than humans, better than Elementals! They hunt us, yet we are the most powerful of them all, you know this! Come join us, and you will never have to hide again." She jumped from the branch so that she was hovering close to Cyan again.

"There is strength in numbers, Cyan," she said gently. "Come join us. You don't have to fight, just join us. Let us protect each other, sister." She hated to do it, but she was going to invoke the bond they had, the bond Cyan herself had created to save her life. It was low, but she had done lower.

"Let me repay you for saving my life," she said earnestly. "Join us, and I promise you a world where you no longer have to hide."

Cyan kept stepping back, hardly perceptible but still she did not wish to be imposed upon. She was small and most people took advantage - or tried too - of that fact.
"Actually, tornados are Natures way of cleaning the air on land, as is Hurricanes over water." Cyan noted thoughtfully, not wanting to dampen her friends enthusiasm for her own profession. Cyan watched Kisami display her power over the winds and even nodded approvingly. "Very good, to master your talents is something very difficult to do. But I'm glad your doing well with it!" She smiled sincerely warmed by her friends companionship. But just then, Azul appeared chirping wildly about something, even Cyan couldn't understand until he finally slowed it down enough.
The color drained from her face as she turned back to Kisami, "Someone has started a bon-fire in the forest! The trees... they are too dry..." Cyan's eyes watered with painful tears as the message sank deep into her heart. But Kisami's words broke through her sadness and paralyzed her where she stood. Her eyes turned on her friend, her willingness to help Kisami fell but her connection link to her was still strong and naturally pulled her to want to help heal her of all injuries Kisami would get or has gotten.

But the Earth's cry was louder. Cyan looked pleadingly at Kisami, "I can not fight. You know this. But, I will help you, only you," Cyan emphasized that point fiercely, "Because of the bond we have, it is my solemn sworn duty to protect nature and all I connect with. You being the first person aside from my father, I am bound to that bond. But healing you I will do only on condition, you do not force me to battle! Now, I must help those trees, those mortals are causing undue harm to my forest - I will not allow this!" Cyan glared quietly at Kisami for her calling on the bond they shared, but then her gaze softened and turned to a smile. "Makes me wish that old Spirit was back in those trees to teach those kids a lesson!"

But as she began climbing down the tree to the ground, she had no idea what would await her at the bonfire site...

User ImageRyan couldn't help but smile at Yosuke. What would he do without his polar opposite? "don't worry I'll pass." He sounded more confident then he felt. "I don't need you bothering my anymore then you already do." Yosuke was more like a woman when it came to pestering. He was a nag and it often led to some serious fighting between the two. Of course Ryan always dealt he first hit, but besides that he was pretty much always beaten. Yosuke was water, his weakness. When the man mentioned the library Ryan jumped up. "I'll come!" He didn't feel like wandering the halls aimlessly. "maybe you can teach me something. "I know what studying is. I just choose not to partake."
PostPosted: Sat Sep 22, 2012 11:36 am

Yosuke merely shrugged as he began walking. "Sure you will dude. Sure." Ryan was so damn stubborn. somet-...No pretty much always actually. Fighting wasn't in Yosuke's nature, in fact, he actively hated anything more than a quick scrap to scare people away. But this guy actively tried taking him on so many times. He honestly couldn't really comprehend why, as his friend must have known that the Water Elemental was the only person he couldn't take on.

Although he didn't really care for Ryan's company to the library, he knew he'd get nothing done with his friend/rival bugging him. It was really more than likely there'd be property damage and a brawl between the two. But, he really wasn't one for turning people down on such things, so Yosuke merely gave a non-committal answer. "If you want, I guess. Gonna leave mister dark and mysterious hanging over there? He'd probably be more interesting company than me and a bunch of musty old books." Pushing open the doors he left with one last direct warning, in a very stern voice, "If you come, NOOOO FIRE."

Ryan smirked at Yosuke. Oh he knew him so well. "I promise not to light anything on fire." He continued walking and beckoned at Kevin. "come on quiet man!" He would drag the loner along. Kevin didn't get the luxury of beig by himself most of the time. Sighing he put his hands behind his head and walked next to Yosuke. "you don't give me enough credit. I'm not that bad." He muttered once he realized his friend had no faith in him. "why would I cause a disturbance at school? That would make me fail automatically." Not that th idea hasn't crossed his mind before. He had thought it loads of times.

When the library got to be in sight he dropped his hands from behind his head. "Well here we are. Hell on earth for people like me." He growled. Studying was that all Yosuke cared about? Twitching his nose Ryan smiled again. "maybe we can find Kira in here. If she didn't come to lunch then she should be here." Maybe he could poke some fun at the shy little girl. He enjoyed playing with Kira she never reacted. It was cute and funny.

Sarah opened her eyes lazily. She was late again and Ryan hasn't even thought of waking her up. Checkin her watch she sighed. It was too late to care about school now. Waving her hand she readjusted her bracelet and sighed. She never took the topaz jewels off. Without then she couldn't mess with people in school or class. Sure, she was very different from Ryan, but they were twins so they had similarities. Their one similarity was they both loved to annoy people. Rachel was just smart about how she did it.

Heading downstairs she avoided her parents and walked outside. She was still in her pajamas but hell she wasn't going to school. She just wanted to be comfortable and maybe find Yosuke or Kira. Kira was the other female. In the lunch room she came across Kevin alone at the table. Her cheeks turned pink and she suddenly cared about how she looked.

Kevin was her opposite, he was dark and she light, but he was also her favorite. Heading over she sat next to him and leaned back in the chair. "where is everyone else?" She really didn't care but at least it would start a conversation. Well hopefully at least.

Cyan came upon a group of kids who had a fire going and they were playing with their powers as if in some sick kind of game. One of the kids forced a small animal out of it's den and was holding it over the fire. While the others laughed and teased and jeered at the poor creature. This is not what I expected... Cyan thought as she came to a tree just outside of their circle and gazed at the flames with intensity. "Elico Dusti, cover the fire my beautiful earth, extinguish it with your soil of life." Cyan whispered into the wind. Her heart was heavy and sad for the small creature the other kid's hands.

The earth suddenly shifted and the fire disappeared making the children look around in shock. "What happened?" One of the girls asked looking at the one with the rabbit. "I don't know, but did you feel that? The earth moved." They all looked around, stunned by the fact of his words. "Could it be an earth elemental?" One of the other boys said pulling out his pocket knife and brandishing it with fluid movements. "I don't think so. Earth elementals can use the earth, but not move the earth, idiot." A kid with green eyes, Cyan noted he was an earth elemental, said with a dismissing wave. "Could it have been a demon?" Another girl whispered fearfully, she seemed younger than the others, and more intelligent - at least to Cyan.

From her perch in her tree, she listened to them. She had not dared to venture this close to Elemental's ever in her life. She had fear of them just as much if not more so than of her fellow demons. Azul remained silent, but he flew down towards the group of children before Cyan could stop him. "Azul, no!" She whispered hoarsely, but was too late. Azul fluttered just beyond reach of the nearest girl.
At the moment no one took any notice. "A Demon? They've been extinct for centuries, my father said so." The Earth elemental boy shook his head and sneered at the girl. "Plus, if they were still existing, someone would have found them by now. Besides, I bet someone else did something, altered our thoughts to make it look like the earth moved!" The boy holding the rabbit joined. They all laughed, but it was the other girl who noticed the Hummingbird nearby, Azul.

"Guys look! A humming bird!" The girl exclaimed, coming towards Azul with a friendly expression. Azul didn't move, though Cyan would have preferred he would. "I've never seen one this color or this big..." Said the boy with the rabbit, he still held it away from his body as though it disgusted him. Cyan decided to take advantage of the distraction and free the poor animal.
With a simple spell she began whispering for a Vine to take the rabbit away safely.

"Rogue, look! Behind you!" One of the boys pointed at the vine Cyan was created. The boy named Rogue turned and let out a surprised shriek. "Where did that come from? Angus are you playing your usual tricks again?" Rogue nudged Angus who looked just as stunned as the rest. "No, Rogue, I'm not doing anything!" He showed his conductor to his friend, it was silent.
"Then what's going on?" Said the shy girl as she took several steps back. The other girl grabbed the knife from the other boy who had red hair and hacked at the vine cutting it at the base.

Cyan winced in severe pain from the Vine's destruction. From the pain, she had curled into a ball, but the tree's branches were not large enough to hold her in that position and fell to the ground with a very undignified thump!

The kids all turned to gaze at the Cyan's curled form on the ground. Her tiny frame lay on the ground in agony from the Vine's death. "Hey... look at this, so this the little imp that's been causing the trouble." One of the boys came picked her up holding her out for everyone to see. Cyan couldn't breath, the boy's hold was too strong around her waist and neck as he handed her to the other boy who released the rabbit for her.
"Well, well, well, a little Demon... I wonder, was that you doing that vine thing?" The boy asked inquisitively. The girl with the knife brandished it before Cyan with a sneer. "She's... a-a N-nature..." The Earth elemental boy came close to fainting had not the girl slapped him. "Nature Demon..." He said finally.

"Oh really?" The boy holding her crooned. His greedy eyes filled with ideas for power. "I think we oughta check this out... lets see what she can do!" They grabbed a rope and bound her to a tree. Cyan looked at the boys and girls with sad helplessness. She couldn't use her skills unless bonded to the person, but they didn't need to know that. She squirmed, tears in her eyes. "How do we get her power to enhance ours though?" The boy who'd tied her up asked the Earth Elemental. "I don't know, father never said..."

Yosuke rubbed the bridge of his nose tiredly as the duo approached the library. They were getting into it again already, and the school day wasn't even half through. "Because you can hardly control yourself. I'm pretty sure there's a few dozen students who can attest to that." He told his friend. "Y'know, you could always put all that energy to better use." Opening the door he realized how completely transparent he was from Ryan's comment.'Agh s**t...I don't wanna deal with his hazing right now. But, she probably wont even more so.'

"I was...thinking along the same lines yeah.." Yosuke rubbed his neck as he admitted. "But none of your BS. She's probably had enough crap from this morning to deal with you on top of that." He glared at Ryan. He knew his friend could be something of a d**k at times, and Kira was always a victim when he was. "You even try messing with her today, and I'll churn all the liquids in your body till you puke." He warned ryan, as he walked into the main area of the library.
