"Tell me more about your leaf friend. Now you have me curious." He smiled, she was such a delight. He hoped she adored his family as he did. Of course being as precious as she was she would probably be accepted more then even he was. Something about sibling/cousin rivalry and all that.

“She’s a bit of a nut. She’s obsessed with leaves and flowers. Still she’s very sweet and is always very very cheerful. She has a bright red mane and tail and very beautiful rose petals I suppose she must have been named after her appearance since her name means ‘beloved rose petal’. I think you’d like her.”

"Most likely, those with quirks are usually quite fascinating and bouncy. It is a relief sometimes from the boring and repetitive. I'm sure she is full of life, like my cousin, I hope she doesnt have the same problem he does with tree roots though. He got it from his father."

Tree roots? “Well I don’t think she has any problem at all with tree roots. What happens with your cousin? Does he trip a lot?’ Her hair bounced as she tilted her head and looked at her date. It was fun to think of him that way. New and interesting, just what she wanted even if she didn’t go looking for it.

"He swears they reach up and grab him, he is very clumsy, in fact its kinda a danger to run behind him." Alkion smiled. "Lan hasn't figured that out yet, (another cousin type one) and usually runs into Kai when he trips."

It was hard to imagine anyone being that clumsy, but who knew perhaps she’d have to see him to find out. “Ouch that sounds like it’d hurt. Why not just run beside him? It sounds safer. And racing against him must be easy.” She hoped no one got seriously hurt. Storing the names for latter she wasn’t really sure she would remember all of Alkion’s family and friends, but she was going to try after all he was a part of her life.

Giving a long ‘oh’ Cale nodded. “Well at least they are staying in shape.” She laughed lightly. “Maybe if you got them to start racing to compete might be a better thought.”

"That is an excellent idea, I'll have to nudge them towards that next time I see them. Sadly sometimes they refuse to listen to reason they are too caught up in their own irritations and arguments. I don't suppose you have a few running train wrecks for cousins too that I need to know about?"

“Sadly no. I fear you’ll find my family history a bit of a bore. I have a few relatives somewhere, but I lost contact with them years ago. My families heard was from quite a bit further south of here and after my father died another stallion took his place at my mother’s side and didn’t want any reminders for her of what she lost. He told me as much when I was old enough to take care of myself. I left.” She shrugged it off. It was very old news to her. “My mother was sad to see me go but knew I couldn’t stay and she was happy with her new mate. We parted ways on good terms. The closest thing I have to family now are my two friends Erumara and Melda... and I guess you.” She smiled at Alkion.

"I have heard of stallions kicking young ones out but I thought for sure that it was only males who were treated so. I find it a shock that he treated you that way." Alkion puffed up a little at being considered her friend. "Well if you meet my mess of a herd you will have more friends than you can keep track of."

"It is not uncommon to have young males leave the herd so they can start their own lives and there is no challenge to the herd dynamics, but sometimes it happens to females too. though it is much rarer." She shook her head. "Don't be shocked. I could take care of myself and my mother needed someone there for her." He looked so regal and yet his statment was so cute it made her laugh. "If you say so."

"Well you certainly did an excellent job growing up, herd or no herd. And I am glad you are here." He nuzzled her neck and played with her mane, examining the spots on her neck in an amused way.
