I'm pretty sure a good chunk of us might be willing to donate to the mule to make a grand amount for the Ball next year, but I haz a quick idea to see if we pass the time and also get a kick out of things while we're at it. Why not make a zOmg team? zOmg materials sell well in the Marketplace and with little farming we can make a good 10k in 15 minutes while all of us play together.

Just throwin' it out there.

I like this idea! You can make 5k in less than five minutes in Papa Saw. Maybe if it's too much of a hassle to create a zOMG team that needs to be on at similar times and whatnot, we can do something like we're doing with Booty Grab, a competition of money earned through zOMG.
In fact, maybe we could even combine the Booty Grab Headquarters with a zOMG headquarters.

Been playing on an alt lately to get the hang of things again. Not to mention that keeping track of the Market on certain Materials also helps. And... well, I'm also gonna stockpile myself like.... 4 Fortune Favor Rings and whatnot for that extra boost to stats.

The matter then is organizing a small team for donations accords, combat and healing and when can we all effectively meet up. It's a little surprising how much people shell out for some of these recipe materials and when mixed with alchemy... well, easy cash.

I was never big in to ZOMG. Tried playing for a bit an another character and got to a power level of 6 or 7. after that I gave up cause It was to hard to progress and level up after that. on here I have three rings and still in the starter area .

It does get hard to level up after Gold Beach... so you have a point. However, the places do have a tendency to drop way more orbs when used in a party. I stopped playing on my main as soon as I hit Gold Beach and he's stuck at 7/8 or somewhere around there. You don't have to join in zOmg though. You could help us with Alchemy and Recipes though! Just toying the Market can be done with enough patience.

Which brings me to ze next quick topic. Alchemy. Anyone in das Guild has a high enough Alchemy level? I'm at Level 2 and starting to prepare a grinding spree to match that 10. Alchemy is still a poor method of making cash, but some of those items.... they're worth it.

Never got into it and I don't understand it.

raffles are usually a good bet, especially if you can sell lots of tickets
a graphics shop (i missed out on the art shop, but i won't miss out on this)
a bump shop
auctions
and of course, there is always the opportunity to create a basic thread in the charity/quests forums. With games and contests where you can win art by some of the very talented artists here, to create an interest and attract people to the thread... this will also create much needed advertising "

We did a bump shop last year and it only lasted about a month before all the workers decided they didnt want to do it anymore. It was me and Misty doing it. And we couldn't get others into it, so I decided to veto the idea of a bump shop this time around.

And with the art shop, we may add more artists, not quite sure. We have to see if the previous artists would still like to work in the art shop.

Ah well, there goes my other idea. Still, just some more suggestions to toss around the burner.

Do you happen to know of any quick level 1 recipes that would be easy to do, or have access to an alchemy item guide? I'd be very interested in getting these components out of my invo and actually crafting something in the process.

Alright, the issue with Alchemy is acquiring Materials. At the moment, it is a bad way to full on get money via components, because most of these are either rare, hard to get or outright expensive. The biggest inflation of the higher tier formulas is the Magical Gift Box issue, with the Golden Magical Boxes used for making the more inportant formulas. Those Formulas in question are Philosopher's Cache and Philosopher's Bag. These get you the bigger tier ingredients which are waaay harder to get on your own, some only attainable this way.

Now, boring conversation and long explanation aside, a few easy item guides would be the item Orb Aggregate, Tire Dress, Twin Snakeshoulder pads, The Drill, etc. Anything with an item list in the cheap section that involves easier to get items from zOmg, Fishing and the like are a good way to level up Alchemy. Hell, some of the recipe's are worth a good ton in the Marketplace, like the Tire Dress.

The Recipe's themselves show which items are needed, so you can just buy one Recipe and set out to make these little by little and if you're doing the zOmg alternative like I am, you're going to be making a sizeable amount of trips back to Nicolae. Overall, it's a good way to make some cash on lower tier recipes since they are made easily with zOmg. The issue being grinding enough because some of the items don't drop as much.

Now, Alchemy also has some drawbacks. The biggest one being that recipes two levels beneath your Alchemy level get you no EXP and those beneath you by one give you only 25% less than what it is, which... won't really matter on lower levels, but can put a stunt on higher ones.

Anything else I can annoy you with and tag it as help?

To be honest, Alchemy sounds likes its overcomplicated. And the fact that not all components are fully out enough to be able to make much of a quick buck seems to be a small drawback for anyone wanting to do alchemy

Now, I was looking at the recipes you get, and orb aggregate seem the easiest because all you really have to do is farm papa saw until you get 100 charge orbs. I'll have to look at the price for them, though. So its possible to make several of those and easily level up out of level 1, i would assume anyways.

Primarily why I asked the whole thing. So far, it's still a bad means of making money, the Tire Dress being the only Alchemical component that actually looks plausible and even then, a bad choice for making cash.

Orb Aggregate seems to sell for 2.5k in the MP, so that one should be kicked out of the loop also. A good zOmg piece to make though, are the Lawn Gnome figures because those sell very well at a 20k+ piece and are also alchemy components.

Well, we haven't thought about a nudist. I was under the impression that the Nudity event was for charities and quests only. I can look into it deeper though.

I looked and it is specifically for threads, seeing as this was a guild, I'm not sure how we can participate.

The thread has to be 6 weeks old, which means we can't enter because any thread we make now will be invalid for it.

If needed, I'm sure we could reuse Pinkie's thread: http://www.gaiaonline.com/forum/charity-quests/fundraising-for-the-10th-annual-ball/t.74708703/

But if doing so, we need to get that sucker up to 10 pages in order to fulfill requirements, and Pinkie's gotta revamp the title to change it to the 11th annual ball.

Which brings us to number three, if its a remake of a thread, they will look at the day the threads posted, thus we need to make a newer thread for the ball anyways. So, still no dice there.

And if, miraculously we do qualify, we need people bumping the crap out of that thread during the nudity event.

Seeing as we are a guild, I may have to get into contact with the event head to be able to make sure that its okay. We technically are not a charity, we are an event ourselves, but the fact that we have a quest thread may be the loop hole we could use.

Are we waiting until the official theme announcement to start working on the threads we need?
Just curious, if we're not, I would like to start working on the 50/50 thread. I think if we start it early, we can decide if it's worth keeping up throughout the year or if it's more work than profit.
I'm not really sure if you want to manage all the threads or designate others for each thread and etc.

We are not waiting for the official announcement, right now we are trying to get things out there as soon as possible.

I have another idea: A Junk Shop
They're kinda like the Good Will of Gaia. It's a thread-based shop of junk items, like the things you get in Daily Chance and things donated in by other people. Some people are searching for trash, inks, etc.
If we can get participation of others in the guild to donate any unwanted "junk" we can put together a neat little thrift shop.

Example: Users can buy tokens for 1g each or buy them from us for .75g each. It's cheaper for them and pure profit for us since we'll be running off donations.

Its funny you mentiond that because last year I put a game item donation thread into our guild where people could just give the fundraising mule any junk they didnt want. xD.

We could easily set up a junk thread, the only thing Id be worried about is the constant repricing of the items.
