He had relaxed in her hold but the hair stroking hadn't stopped. Not until Shun pulled back and leaned toward her, his lips tentatively touching hers. While she didn't move Mitsu at first stared at him for a brief moment in wonder before her eyes closed. The kiss she gave him in return was chaste and light waiting for him to pull back first before she finally opened her eyes to gaze at him.
Slowly her hands came up to cup his cheeks, her thumb lightly tracing under his right eye to remove to last traces of moisture. Leaning forward she pressed her forehead to his her eyes gazing intently into his dark brown one. There was nothing but silence but there was a certain sense of comfort in it.

She had returned the kiss, though as light as it was. It was enough for him. Shun did not want to push her. While she might love him in return, she might not be ready for more intimate contact just yet. Even so, he would take what he could get. Pulling back from the kiss, he held steady as she gently took his face before resting his forehead against hers.
He just gazed deeply into her eyes, content with the silence for now. It felt like a great weight had lifted from his heart. Things were not perfect, but the world didn't seem as dreary and hopeless as it did before.
And so he managed to smile at her. That soft and subtle smile that he had given Mitsu many times in the past.

That smile he gave her, though subtle, seemed to spark one of her own. It spread across her face and she leaned in to press another quick kiss to Shun's lips. As she pulled back she glanced up briefly at the reaper dorms where they were.
"Why don't we go inside? We can go to your dorm since we're here." Brushing a few stray strands of hair from his face she finally released him though her hands sought out his hands to hold.

It warmed his heart to see her smile, and the quick kiss she gave didn't hurt either. Though, he soon glanced up towards the reaper dorms they were right by.
"If you don't mind walking up four flights of stairs. There are... times I wish I didn't live on the first floor," he said as he gently squeezed her hands as they took hold of his own.

"We'll take the stairs...slowly," Mitsu smiled reassuringly. "And you will rest when we get to your room." Her tone held a hint of 'whether you like it or not.'
Standing to her feet Mitsu kept a hold of Shun's hands and waited for him to join her before she headed toward the entrance to the reaper dorms.

Shun's brow raised at that. But he just slowly got up, albeit a bit gingerly. He was still pretty sore having fallen down stairs earlier that day. Once standing, he took her hand and moved to head inside. The things Mot had said were forgotten for now. Things had become brighter for him. And now he was glad that he didn't try to push her away.
As they moved on inside, he recalled one other thing.
"Ah, I just remembered something. I spoke with Riley the other day. She's.. a mindflayer. Telepathic. She offered help with your situation.. She might be able to help unlock some of your memories or at least find out what's keeping them from surfacing," he said quietly while staring up the stairs. This was going to be... unpleasant.
"However she also promised she won't poke around without your consent.." he noted before waiting to see what she would say to that. The idea of her not loving him any longer wasn't a problem. But... she still lost a lot of important memories. That was a lot of experience lost.

At first there was no real reaction to the mention of Riley but as soon as 'mindflayer' and 'telepathic' were thrown into the mix of things Mitsu tensed. Her fingers gripped Shun's a little more tightly her expression in a battle like she was trying to decide how to feel about it. If anything, panic was clear.
"She would be...poking around my mind?" The horror of the thought was clear in her voice and she held a hand to her head as she shook it. "I..I don't think that's a good idea."
She stopped short of the first step, her hand that was resting against her head moving to ruffle her hair in an almost frustrated way. Something about it bothered her but it was hard to say what. Was it a memory of what had been done to her or something else?

Of all the reactions, Shun hadn't quite expected to see Mitsu on the verge of panic. He paused before the stairs, watching her, feeling a little confused with the way she was acting here. Obviously this was bothering her, but he was having trouble of pinpointing why that ways. Did she remember something?
"Not.. physically. It shouldn't hurt.." he said while squeezing her hand to try and calm her down, "Why do you think it's not a good idea? Do you remember something?"
There was concern in his eye as he looked her over.

Her frown only deepened as Mitsu shook her head. "I-It just doesn't seem like a good idea.. Something about it. I don't know."
Wrapping her arms around herself she only shook her head again as she headed up the stairs one at a time being careful of her footing as she went.

Quietly, Shun watched Mitsu at that before slowly ascending the steps behind her.
"I won't force you.. But.. you do want to regain your memories.. right?" he asked quietly before gritting his teeth lightly as he grabbed onto the railing. He found himself leaning against it a little, which didn't make his right shoulder feel all too great.

She paused on a step for a moment but didn't turn to look at the reaper. "I do but...I'm also afraid to." Hugging herself tighter she looked back over her shoulder at Shun. "I don't remember what they did...I don't know if I want to dig it up just yet. I'm...not ready to face it." Visibly she trembled before continuing her journey up the stairs.
"I just want to pretend for a little longer..." She whispered, though her voice was so soft the words would likely not reach Shun's ears.

Shun's eye softened at that and nodded slowly to her.
"It's ok. I understand. When you feel ready though.. please let me know so I can find Riley," he said while he followed after her. Once they were at the fourth floor, he slipped his arms around her waist, trying to get her to relax by embracing her from behind. His hold was fairly weak though, thanks to his weariness and aching body. But the gesture was still there.
He didn't hear anything, and being behind her, he didn't catch any lip movement either.
"In the meantime.. I'm still here for you. And I will always be.." he whispered into her ear.

"Alright.." Mitsu said softly. The fourth floor, while quite the journey, went by in a blur. The lycan stood at the top of the stairs her arms still wrapped around herself in a way of comfort. Shun's hand working its way around her waist surprised her at first but she quickly leaned into him, taking a deep calming breath. It also allowed her time to catch her breath after such a long climb.
"Thank you," Mitsu said softly. "You are always so good to me." Her arms relaxed from around herself and she reached back with one hand to touch his face lightly. Fingers eased across his cheek before settling into his hair and holding him in place, leaning her head against his in a nuzzle.

It also gave Shun some time to recover from the climb, though he managed to keep himself standing by leaning lightly against the nearby wall as he held onto her. He would have his chance to relax soon enough.
He closed his eye and leaned into against her head, nuzzling gently in turn. Every little movement like this soothed his heart a little more. The reaper had been holding back on his signs of affection to an extent before, but now he felt he didn't really need to. And having them returned was even more. He absorbed every bit, having been starved of it more or less before.
"You deserve it.." he whispered, taking in the moment before pulling back to plant a soft kiss to the base of her neck. From there, he carefully moved to continue on towards his room.
"My room is not as large as yours," he said quietly. He had taken her there briefly on the night they returned, but he wasn't sure if she really recalled how it looked since they didn't linger, "I hope you don't mind."
At that, he unlocked the door and allowed her to enter first.

While the one hand stayed by his head the other came down to touch the arm around her waist. The affection was more intense than usual and while she responded her expression at times battled with being happy and sad.
She 'mmm'ed lightly at the kiss to the neck before Shun pulled away and continued to lead her down the hall. Her expression settled on shy and happy looking toward the reaper's dorm with a hint of curiosity. They had only been there briefly before.
"My room is large but mostly empty," Mitsu said softly. "I kind of remember yours appearing cozy. I won't mind." As he pushed the door open for her Mitsu stepped in slowly taking in the room. He had been truthful when he said the room was small but it was neat and not cluttered which left it open.
Stepping in a little further Mitsu took in the objects around his room before her gaze settled on his guitar. There was a brief flicker of an odd emotion before she tore her eyes away to look elsewhere.
